Matched with 3 bots.
They are back! I can't believe it!

Stayed off tinder for 9 days. Was gonna push it to two full weeks but some of the recent stories here about a resurgance in matches was too juicy to wait.

So I downloaded the app again, made a new account, and it had the old layout. Just an X and a heart, no undo button, no gps button. So I said hmmm, wonder what that's about.

Swiped for about 30 minutes, super selective, super slow, not a single match.

I said alright, let me log out and log back in. Log back in, now the new layout is there. I'm saying shit, did my swipes for the first 30 minutes register at all? Was I even being seen? Fuck.

Alright, so for the next 30 minutes, with the new layout, same thing, super selective, super slow (clicking on individual profiles, checking out their pics and looking at their last activity), and after 1 hour, still not a single match. My first hour is always my best hour, so that wasn't a good sign.

After I would say about 300 swipes total or so, the 12 hour limit came up. Immediately deleted my profile and tried to make a new one, but of course my phone number was rejected.

Think I'm gonna really hone in on social circle and day game until May, and see if being off the Tinder grid for that long will put my profile back into existence. That's when the colleges let out and summer flings are in the air.

Till then...

This can麓t be emphasised enough. Mass liking absolutely destroys the viability of your account, as shown by the guy upthread who liked 23k women for only 30 matches. I downloaded Tools for Tinder and went from having instamatches every time I logged in to going completely dry for weeks.

My driest period was after using a mass liker app too.

Apparently the blank female profiles are dummy profiles that clock likes to uncover the mass swipers.

^^^ I always thought those blanks were married or Muslim broads who don't want to be seen. How may of you have seen a broad on Tinder with a Hijab on? I've seen like one in all my time using Tinder. Always assumed the blanks were Arab girls trolling. Lol.

I don't know what the hell is going on. I used to get at least several matches per swiping session, but now I can't get a single match to save my life. It's been weeks. What could've changed?

A few things I've noticed these past two weeks.

-After the tinder plus update, I've not been prompted once to rate the app. Maybe everyone's experience is different, but I was never asked to rate it. My guess would be, since the rating is so low (1.5/5 stars) they don't want to take the risk of getting more 1 star ratings.

-When the tinder plus update came out, tinder was one of the apps on the "best new apps" list. Not even 24 hours later, it was taken off the list (at that time it had a 1 star rating)

-Tinder's twitter page gets about 100 or so new followers everyday. At the launch of plus, they had about 40.3, then a few days later 40.4, then 40.5, etc. However, they're not seeing a significant increase in the number of retweets/favorites they get. They're pretty low, actually, for a page that boasts close to 41k followers. Some tweets go completely unfavorited or unretweeted. My guess is they bought that follower count to appear more legitimate. Ironically, all bots. Especially after the launch of plus, which I assume would see them LOSE followers, not gain followers faster than they ever had before.

-The rating for the app in the app store was 1 star up until the other day when I noticed it was 1.5, with quite a few more 5 star ratings than they had before. My guess is they're doing damage control and getting as many people they can to rate it 5 stars. Maybe creating fake accounts to give it 5 stars. Not one person is happy about the update and I just can't see them going from 1 star to 1.5 (and eventually 2) without some foul play.

What does all this mean? Nothing mostly. I just think, the move to tinder plus was a colossal fail, already, and they are doing what they can to save face. Tons of articles popped up in these last few weeks talking about how statistically, millennials do not open their wallets. Certainly not for OLD. Couple that with the fact that they're charging the age group that actually DOES pay for shit, double, triple the amount, basically alienating that base - I think they're headed for trouble.

Still though, I can count the number of matches I have from hot or not and hinge on one hand so far, so they're still the app to beat in terms of high volume match rates.

I deleted my account yet again today as it seemed I was able to swipe less and less women before getting hit with the limit notification. So I'm off that shit till May, as mentioned previously. Will still hang around this thread to see how everyone else makes out going forward.

Muslim women usually use some sorme of picture, a cartoon, flowers, a hand. I'd be wary of blank profiles with no text. Only mass swipers or the desperately thirsty would swipe these ones right anyway.

Tinder has tried the very difficult in that it monetised what used to be a free, online resource. Online established media such as newspapers struggle with this, so they use advertising instead to earn money from.

In terms of the psychology behind app use, if payment is to be made, people expect to pay a one-off nominal fee - say 69p or 拢2.49 - but some people are being charged over 拢20 / month for Tinder! This puts Tinder into competition with Match and if a user is thinking about Match, he will start thinking of PoF again.

Then of course there are other free smartphone apps like Happn which is trending in the UK iTunes now.

OF course, all the above would have had a greater affect on the numbers of female users than men.

Don't really want to make a whole thread for this so I'll post it here:

2 OHL Players (Ontario Hockey League - which leads to NHL) got suspended over "Tinder" comments
http://www.torontosun.com/2014/11/07/sus...e-insulted

Now what could those "comments" have possibly been.
https://twitter.com/96Nellis/status/5294...48/photo/1

Let me guess - she felt verbally "raped" and had to post this to garner attention/support. She was the one who rejected the guys, and they were just taking it in stride. So she has to 'get back' at them by posting what they said online? If you're that offended by the word "cunt" I think you're too young for Tinder.

Tinder knows your a man. They are likely back logging your matches until you pay.

For the women if they have not deleted their matches they still have a bank of 500 men to entertain with. I myself have going deep down into my old matches to try and hail Mary broads that went cold since hitting this "likes" wall.

Hi first post on Rooshv. Am I the only one that hasn't been forced into Tinder Plus yet? I just got back from Ireland tonight (live in the US) and I scored over 100 matches in my week there and had a fun time with two of them. I'm trying to figure out what makes me special. I'm not complaining, just want to know when I'll finally have to start paying for my swipes.

I use the memorable moments as my Hail Mary move now and again. It is sometimes surprising who receives the throw.

I got 0/40 matches tonight, so Tinder is obviously fucking with me. I was averaging 1/10 or less in November. I hope tinder plus bankrupts these fuckheads.

I'm going back to cold-approach en masse.

If you are a 6'0 or above Blonde White male and having trouble with matches it's clearly a sign that the app is on a sharp decline.
HighSpeed_LowDrag 路 2015-03-14 18:53:00 路 #3691
Yup, ever since Tinder Plus started coming in it's taken a complete nose-dive in terms of quality.

In my experience, whenever I hit delete on my account and started over again, I could count on getting a good number of matches up-front, along with 1-2 a day for at least the next few weeks or so. Now it's almost completely dried up as well. Plus the girls aren't getting any easier to chat with, either - or at least here in Canada.

Over in Europe I could have extended, meaningful back and forth conversations with attractive-looking chicks. Here in Canada it's almost impossible.

The owners of Tinder have well and truly screwed themselves with this move.

By limiting the amount of "Yes" swipes, Tinder may have created some unintended consequences. While all dating apps/sites are skewed heavily in the favour of women, I wonder if by limiting the amount of "Yes" swipes available, Tinder is hurting women as much as men. While 8-9 girls won't ever be lacking in quality matches, I suspect 7s and below, as well as girls in their late 20s may very well see a decline in the quality and quantity of their matches.

Now that I have to ration my swipes, I am very strategic (picky) with my choices. Tonight I passed on a tall, thin blonde 7.5 with a cute face because I thought her eyes looked crazy. Any girl that has even the slightest red flag (unflattering picture, no body shot, artsy/hipster vibe, signs of aging) is immediately dismissed. I am now regularly passing on girls who are bangable but not 8+. I'd rather waste my likes on the hottest girls than on the somewhat cute ones.

I've also narrowed my age preferences. I'm 28 and I've set my discovery settings to 18-25. I'm considering parsing it again down to 18-22. I'd rather get a look at all of the 18-22 year old girls in my city first, than to waste some of my swipes on a 24-25 year old. In the past I had matched, met and banged with some girls closer to my age, but now I won't even be taking a look at them. Even now, it's rare for me to swipe yes on a 25 year old.

Fortunately I'm in Eastern Europe, so I can employ this kind of targeted swiping without running out of girls.

On a broader level, I don't see the logic in placing 12 hour time-outs on swiping. It cuts down on the "addiction factor" and means that users spend less time on the app. Now when I'm waiting for my 12 hour ban to expire, I just take a quick peek at my messages. If there are no new matches or messages I close the app. How is that good for Tinder? Wouldn't they want to keep people running the app and playing the game?

I feel like they could have made more money and been less obtrusive by simply adding the Passport/GPS spoof and Unswipe features as paid options. The GPS spoof in particular could have been lucrative. If they sold it on a monthly or even a weekly basis for .99cents, I have no doubt that a high percentage of users who do any kind of traveling would have happily purchased the upgrade before any planned trip. But instead they are asking for $15-20 for features we don't always need and driving down the amount of time we spent on the app. Seems like a terrible strategy.

Even with all those adjustments and being more picky your still not as picky as the average woman. If a woman only swipes right 15-20 times per day and half of those match her she will still have 100s of matches. Most women I talk to swipe right maybe 10 times per day.....

Its hard for us men to visualize how delusinal a woman must be. I don't think many women are hitting this wall, plus I am convinced there is a gender bias in the algorithm for a h wall to show for men faster then for women.

Tinder in the UK still has unlimited swipes.

So any UK guys who were thinking of using it, get on with it before they fuck it up.

They are limited if you splurge on how many people you swipe. If you straddle it throughout the day then you can avoid being labelled as a spammer.

I have quit Tinder and any online stuff (e.g. OKC)

In one of Robert Greene's book (The Laws of War?) he talks about the Death Ground - deliberately putting your back against the wall to produce profound results.

If the only way to get laid is to rely on my wits and not have any back up plan, it should increase the urgency to approach.

Sort of like if I was banned from buying food in a store, I'd probably get good at hunting and fishing pretty fast.

I'm in a provincial city, so not many users. I have splurged, as it doesn't come up with any new people to swipe. I've swiped all the tinder lizards in my area. I'm lucky to see a dozen new ones each day(in the 18-55 range!!!).

Have had 2 matches out of 100s of swipes!!

Both are promising though, have a date during the week lined up with a kinky lizard my age. Whip

I am 6'3", slim and my pictures are of me sailing or in dapper suits. I estimate that I am about an 8 but I am on the wrong side of 30. My tinder SMV however seems to be market matching me with local 5s and 6s with kids and excess weight or 7+ women 'of a certain age'. Once again, I am faced with the choice of a plain new car or an attractive classic car for a Sunday drive in the country. Above average new models of car are unattainable in the home market.

Since I last started a new Tinder profile a month ago, I have now 420 matches.

But...

...I have been changing my GPS' location with Tinder's new feature to Stockholm, Atlanta, Dubai, St Petersburg and Tokyo. However most of my swiping still happens within 70km of my home location in the south of England.

From my 420 matches, I estimate that only 15-20% are from my home region despite the increased swipe investment. My SMV is completely different on the international markets in the above contrasting cultures. It is insane to match with 9s several times in a row even in feminist Stockholm when I am struggling to match with 5s and 6s in the south of England. The most bitter-sweet comment these foreign women say is, "The women in your country must be mad if they haven't snapped you up!"

It seems also that if your GPS is new to a region, your profile gets more views.

For me Tinder is becoming a travel tool not a local meet up tool.
