Users are basically being scored on attractiveness, activity and pickiness. I'm a computer science student myself so from my understanding:
- The more you get swiped right by other users, the more users you get to see (and your profile gets pushed to the top). If only 5's swipe right on you, you will be shown mostly 5's and the ocassional 7, 8's and 9's might never see your profile on their feed.
- Active and picky users will be shown more profiles, I don't think there's a swipe limit per day or anything like that but if you swipe right on every user, the algo might detect it and push your profile down, if you send (or receive) messages and moments, your profile gets pushed to the top. If you use the app from various locations, it bumps your score up as well.

An ugly guy has nothing to use as leverage on Tinder since there is a correlation between how attractive you are and the amount of matches you get.
Tinder is the equivalent of walking into a club where you're the only man and all the girls there are skinny and they think you're hot and they are anxiously awaiting your approach.
To me that's a dream come true, but maybe I am missing something.
To me the question is....why wouldn't you use it as a main source of your game?
Unless you have something to prove, why would you work harder for the same results?
The pussy is there for the taking. Go and take it before someone else does.

Who says they have to be done by a professional? Does going and getting a headshot done by a photographer really have that much of an impact on matches?

I think a lot of guys misinterpret what it means to get pro photos done. Headshots = lame.
Go pick up GQ or Esquire. You want to be dressed and styled like the men in there. A pro photographer knows how to do that, how to pick locations, how to make you look like a damn stud.

I went through an old friend for pro photos many months ago. He ripped me off, but I did get a couple decent ones I used for my online profile. What do you think is a good rate someone can command in a major city? And what credentials should one be looking for in a photographer? Is it affordable? How much time does one need from the photographer to get all the photos one needs to scan through to get the best four or five shots to use for your profile?

On the one hand, you've discovered a "holy grail" of pussy and a way to fast-track hotties to your bed. But for very understandable reasons, you're not willing to share that information publicly. So I don't really understand the purpose of your post except as a massive cock-tease.
Maybe you could offer somes clues/hints for how the forum users here, who are spread out of many cities globally, could improve their chances based on your knowledge of the algorithm? You don't have to spill all the beans, but as of now I am not quite sure what value you're creating for us. No offense.

I do have a date coming up (out of 60+ swipes and 7-8 matches), but really I'm starting to think that tinder should only be supplementary to your overall game. Kind of like taking vitamin C along with your meat and potatoes meal. The more time I spend on tinder, the more I don't like it as a primary source of game.

Most articles say that deleting your account and starting over to try and trick the system doesn't work. Once you've used your Facebook account and your device once, it knows. You're locked in no matter what you do. As much as I'd like to tell myself that's not true because I've deleted my profile at least 50-60 times, it does make sense that the first day I make a new account, I get about 3 matches in an hour, then I dry up for the next few days. I guess once it recognizes me, it freezes me out or something. It doesn't make sense that I get 3-4 matches my first hour, and then nothing after. I should be getting 2-4 matches every hour on average if the algorithm was fair and working the way it should.
One site mentioned what I really believe is the problem for a lot of men - their profile is not being seen by most women. There's just too many thirsty dudes swiping right on everybody and flooding the market. Your profile probably isn't seen by a good chunk of women.
To prove or dispel this hypothesis, I kind of want to upload pictures of a male model to my existing Facebook, (make the photos private so I don't look weird), and see if this same account of mine that gets 3 matches in an hour and then goes cold is account based or picture based. If I start getting a match for every 4th or 5th girl I swipe, I'll know it's bullshit, and the only algorithm you'll have to worry about is having good pictures. If there's little to no change, maybe there is a deeper algorithm at work.

A photographer that has a background in lifestyle portraits or fashion, and that knows how to make any man look like he belongs in GQ? Not some college dropout, but a real professional?
I am guessing 0.
In my opinion, if you haven't made the effort to get professional photos taken of you to put on tinder, then you really have nothing to add to the conversation.
Photos are 99.9% of tinder, and if you're not bringing your A game and looking the absolute best that you can (with the help of a true professional) then you're wasting your time.
Competitive advantage, guys. Come on. Figure it out.
Sorry to be harsh, but that's the bottom line.
