So this is odd. Location is spoofed for Texas and google maps proves it. Tinder search is on 100 miles yet it's pulling in girls from Kentucky.

EDIT: logged out. uninstalled. reinstalled. updated search distance. now it all works.

(06-12-2014 05:53 PM)hack_aroundtheworld Wrote:  Yep, i'll be doing that one next too.

But think about it. There are a ton of guys out there going after these girls. A lot are good looking. What is going to make you stand out? You've got a good looking pic of you showing off your best attributes? Great. So does 80% of the guys on tinder. Your bio is funny? That's a plus, but if your image doesn't grab her attn then it doesn't matter.
Not that i'm a professional or anything but I do know a lot about marketing and SEO and it's along the same principal.

I have a few more ideas I'm going to test out over the next few weeks. This is version one and so far it's worked.
Time to start spoofing location and trying elsewhere.

I understand what you're saying and I don't have an issue with what you as an individual are doing in order to improve matches. It's Tinder, we're all out here trying to improve matches.

My issue is with the sexual marketplace in general. Most of the girls I swipe -- their profile pics are them with friends at a bar, holding a drink and smiling for the camera. And a handful of others are selfies. Sometimes car selfies. As in, a chick buckled up in her car, who decided she needed a new profile pic for Tinder, stuck her arm out, turned her phone around, boom. New profile pic.

She's getting more matches than you, and your picture is your head photoshopped on Batman's body, holding a lightsaber, attacking a shark.

That's my issue. That you needed to go to such lengths in order to stand out.

It's not you or the picture (which I find hilarious), it's the fact it had to come to that. That's my gripe. I have no doubt it will work for you, and ultimately, if your goal is to get more matches, you'll do so. I just don't like that we're putting a lot more effort in our profiles than women are. I understand men are more visual, so it doesn't take much to grab our attention, but fuck.

That same girl that "just got in her car and buckled up" also spent 30 minutes applying her makeup, spent a ton of time in the salon getting her highlights, and just got back from the nail salon.

Not to say girls aren't getting SHIT TONS of attention, but if you think all their pictures aren't of them trying to make themselves look the best, you would be mistaken. That's why there's so many SIFs out there.

Fair enough, but still though, I don't like this idea that, being a good looking guy, with solid pictures, and a well written profile is not enough anymore. What is that saying about the sexual marketplace? Or at least as it pertains to online dating? That women have so many options, or have such high standards, that you need to photoshop elaborate pictures in an attempt to get noticed.

If you want to play the game, you can play the game. I'm not knocking that. I'm knocking the fact we have to play the game period. I just think, although a lot of what we're taught here works -- it's annoying to have to implement some of these things.

Is there any easy way of doing something like this or do you have to know photoshop?

I do know photoshop very well but I didn't want this photo to look good. look at the rough edit around the pics i posted on it, and the ridiculously placed arm.
I simply used paint for this.

Fuckin a right it works differently over here.

I've been in Germany for 10 weeks now and my tinder game has been in the shitter. My openers that usually kill in the States don't do anything over here. I've had more success in clubs and bars.

I fly home in a month so I've just written it off at this point, but I was curious about other people's experiences.

I took a hiatus from Tinder after my experiment a few months back. I just decided to give it a spin again a few days ago. Haven't gotten a single match yet and I'm using good photos with good angles, good lighting and look natural as well as some social ones and ones that show me traveling. Quality of girls seems to have gone into the shitter too. When I first started it looked like beautifulpeople.com, now it looks more like POF. Oh well... RIP Tinder.

It seems like a good bio can make or break you on tinder. Can you guys post some examples of a good bio vs a bad one?
jolly_cynic · 2014-06-13 13:45:00 · #1664
Question: does anyone even read the bios?
hack_aroundtheworld · 2014-06-13 14:23:00 · #1665
Was supposed to meet with a girl in an hour and a half but haven't heard anything back. Next.

Spoofed to Dallas last night. Got nudes from a girl. Next.

As far as bio's go, i haven't noticed a change in success with a bio. From having a legit bio, to something witty, to the one i posted in the above picture.
Maybe i'll try a cocky one next.

I did install badoo yesterday. I like tinder better but i feel there are more people on badoo.
heh. had a damn 16 y/o posing as a 19 y/o and still wanted some. bad bad bad.

bio doesnt rly matter TBH. tinder is 95% looks. a bio wont get u laid.

What do you guys consider a successful line? I tried the graph one last night and only got a 1 out of 10 response rate. "You look like trouble" works on about 15-20% of the girls, whereas "nice pics" works on about 25-35% for me. None of these seem really that successful.
kaotic · 2014-06-13 16:44:00 · #1668
I actually am trying something new. I've got a great pic of me suited in vegas....with a Unicorn's head on. 3 of the other 4 pictures are me with girls and one pics I'm having a blast in.

Tagline:

I'm that unicorn you've been looking for. Make a wish.

Part time stripper. Part time businessman.

I do what I want.

(the stripper bit has worked quite a few times)
General Mayhem · 2014-06-13 16:49:00 · #1669
In my experience bio does matter. There have been a lot of girls that have referenced my bio in conversation.

After careful experimentation I settled on, "Dangerously Charming" but I have used other ones with similar success like, "classy as fuck."

It almost works best to have a bio that contradicts what you open with. When your bio says charming or classy and you open with something overtly sexual girls react to it.

I might try that stripper line though kaotic.

I've just started reading Black Dragon's blog and he's got some poignant things to say about why online dating is getting tougher:

http://www.blackdragonblog.com/2013/11/1...decreased/

A lot of guys have turned to getting really creative with photos, profiles and openers. Dragon gives his reasons why he thinks they don't help the bottom line(getting laid):

http://www.blackdragonblog.com/2013/03/2...-gimmicky/

Quote:What a lot of guys will do is use “gimmicky” openers. These openers are fun, interesting, controversial, or different. They often run a little long and are very creative. I’ve seen a million of them. Some will talk about being a secret agent, others will pose interesting psychological questions, some will make predictions, and on and on.

Gimmicky openers do “work” in that they often will boost your response rates. However they do not “work” in that they don’t actually get you laid any more than standard openers. I’m very serious about this and I have empirical testing data both from myself and other guys to back this up. More importantly, never once have I seen a guy with a very creative opener actually put his cock into more women because of it. Yes, I have seen these guys pull down larger response rates, but in terms of actual first dates that happen and lays that happen, these guys are usually no better off than anyone else with decent online game.

These guys will often get excited because of “all the responses I’m getting!”, so they will continue with the gimmicky openers. They fail to realize that all this online activity doesn’t actually increase the amounts of dates or lays they’re getting. As I’ve been screaming loudly for many years now, online dating isn’t about talking to women online, it’s about getting laid.

“Well, so what?” you might ask, “What’s wrong with more responses?”

The problem, at least in my view, is that responses that don’t end up in real-life dates create work. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like work. I like sex. I like to get to the sex as fast as possible with the minimum amount of work required. Work is not the goal. Work is bad. (I’m talking about a dating context here, not a business context.)

Therefore the guy who gets three first dates by sending 100 openers with a 40% response rate is WORSE OFF than the guy who gets the same amount of dates from the same amount of openers with a 5% response rate. I know that might sound strange, but if you do the math on the time both men are spending, it’s 100% correct. The first guy will feel more successful, but he isn’t. He’s actually just wasting more time and working much harder for no reason (other than perhaps an ego boost if he’s a more emotional or extroverted guy). I’ve talked here before about how I can get laid, very fast and with very hot women, with as low as a 2% response rate(!). The response rate is not the goal. SEX is. Way too many guys are forgetting this.

If you disagree with me and can back up what you say with real stats and numbers, I’d be happy to hear your comments, but anything that increases response rate without also clearly increasing your first-date rate and lay ratios is not a good idea. This is why I personally avoid gimmicky openers.

You can try the ones you mentioned, but I like adding something that connect it to their photos or bio. You have to try and make a connection with the girl, why not do it with your opener ?

Pretty vanilla. Personally I prefer less talk about future fun and go more out of my way to demonstrate it, personalitywise. Here's one from earlier that won't go anywhere (Tinder traveling...)

It's usually worth it to take a few seconds to come up with something funny and sexual at once. Practice makes perfect, the first couple openers might take a minute but soon they're coming fast and furious. Plus it's good practice for face to face improv banter - thinking on your feet!

(Not ready to give away my good stock openers anytime soon, don't want anything turning into the next "How many pushups can you do" and lose a gold mine.)

Those are good. When I first joined, I noticed a lot of girls had written in their profiles "no dick pics please," so I copied that and put it in my profile. Didn't really land so I dropped it.

I'm trying to find another way to mirror/mock their profile. I would put "not here for hookups thank you very much" if I didn't think girls would actually take it seriously and then I'd be inadvertently cock blocking myself. Still tinkering.
Catch 22 · 2014-06-13 21:51:00 · #1675
Nice. "No dick pics please" is witty, which is why it didn't work. Love it! Gotta lower the wit for gaming, though.
Mister X · 2014-06-13 22:13:00 · #1676
Thanks. I also noticed girls will sometimes laugh if the joke is really bad/stupid. Sometimes I make intentionally bad jokes because I know a girl will laugh. Thinking of something lame like -- "If loving you is wrong, I don't want to swipe right."
