There is a reason you don't see too many software engineers and Accountants living that kind of a life. That kind of social life, especially in the US, is extremely difficult to build.

Most Meetup groups are trash full of fatties and losers.

Most hobby groups are for that hobby alone and won't get you that sort of a social life.

Most activities you see through Meetup and other events are trash when it comes to getting the hedonistic lifestyle.

Lots of people out there look down on the drinking and partying lifestyle after college which DJs and Bartenders have an access to.

Most people just suck when it comes to helping you get that kind of lifestyle.

And just making friends in the industry is its own bag of worms.

Why would some bartender at a high end nightclub want to be friends with some software engineer?

Why would some DJ want to be friends with some random white collar guy?

These guys don't have a reason to make friends with random people unless those random people can get them status in their world. A bartender is only going to make friends with you if he feels that you can get him a job at a better bar, same with a DJ who feels that you can help him get discovered.

And on your own, it is tough to build that kind of status with hot girls regardless of your game.

You'll never be able to sell the idea to a hot girl at a nightclub that coding is cool and your lifestyle can compete with that of a DJ.

That is the appeal of these professions to where guys making good money like me have even fantasized about quitting to work in nightlife, you already have some sort of status built in even if you are the help. She rather fuck a bartender that can barely make rent over an engineer living well because engineers are "not cool".

But I am done with the complaining, I rather learn the hows than the whys.

I cannot think of how someone who works 40-60 hours a week at an office job can potentially build the kind of lifestyle that gets him that sort of status. Even if he travels or does other things, it is tough as nails to build the lifestyle that gets you a lot of sexy women.

I've seen the women in the white collar world, they're a bunch of harpies looking for a free meal ticket. They're not looking to smash for the night and leave or hang out to party, they're schemers looking to see who they can divorce rape.

If guys feel like Hank is so wrong, they should be offering more examples of what an engineer or others in those sorts of jobs can do to fuck a shit ton of fine pussy because the way I see it, it is almost impossible to compete with someone like a DJ in that regard.

This is a great point which others may be overlooking. For those who think being a software engineer, a lawyer, or an accountant makes you undesirable as far as forming connections/friendships with bartenders, DJ's, bouncers, etc., you have to keep in mind that the universal language that everyone speaks - self interest.

When I was first getting my business up and running, many of my earliest clients were bartenders and servers (male and female) who I chatted with at my favorite establishments. It was all surface level at first, but once they found out what I did for a living several of them came my way for tax advice and preparation when they needed some help.

Once I helped them out, (besides becoming loyal clients of mine) they'd hook me up with free drinks, preferential treatment at their bars/clubs, and a bouncer client even let me cut ahead of the really long lines whenever he was working the door at a popular spot on Saturday nights whenever I was around. I formed good friendships with some of them, which opened the door to social circles that otherwise wouldn't have been available had I not helped them professionally. And yes, many of these guys (and girls) hung out with copious amounts of the elusive hot young chicks in their 20's mentioned throughout this discussion.

This was all several years ago and I don't really hang out at these spots much anymore, but my point is that even though you might not have a "sexy" type of job, it's not really that difficult to form connections with the guys many people in this thread are claiming are the pussy slayers. You just have to be a cool guy and offer them some value in return.

EDIT - Also forgot to agree with the point about making your "boring" job sound a lot cooler than it is. I don't tell girls I'm an accountant, I tell them I have my own firm that protects people from being extorted by the Feds . Hey, it's worked on some girls in the past....

While I agree with Comte, Papaya and the other vets here, honestly I can’t fault Hank for catering to the lowest common denominator of the forum. I believe that the fact that he’s got a lot of reps and his threads are the most commented on by both newbs and vets alike really do say something about the current state of RVF.

-This forum is not easy for newbies to navigate. Our rules are too lax so we have plenty of trolls. It’s very hard to browse through the contents because there’s no stickies threads. Shit I’ve been here for 4 years and sometimes I struggle to find Comte’s datasheet on social circle or Vinny’s on Tinder, etc. So it makes sense that people love it when a guy with some baseline game level and good writing skills put down a bunch of list and market it as “game”. Let's be frank here...

I am not a pickup artist. I don't write pickup books for a living. I'm just a regular guy who sometimes out kicks the punt coverage. I'm no guru or messiah, that's for sure.

A few years ago, I couldn't get laid to save my life. I had about three lays before getting married. Then I got divorced.

I think it would help to define what actually are the "frequently asked questions" about game today?

Who is curious about the actual differences of picking up women in today's dating climate versus 5 or 10 years ago?

Let's talk about the major differences we have seen (in America) with dating in the past several years:

There are plenty of girls who are interested in finance; at least the subset of finance that involves actually managing the money [not sales, not insurance]. Girls are always ALWAYS interested in money and the men who know how to take money and make lots more of it.

I never want to bring up my job but ~75% of girls want to at least talk about it and learn more about what they should be doing. To be clear, this is not responsible for my success with women but the confidence you get from being successful at running a fund, plus the pecuniary benefits that go with it give you the ability to live a more interesting life -- travel, etc, fine dining, gambling, spontaneous events. Have something exciting to discuss.

You still have to have charisma and a social crew never hurts either. The way to be white collar and have success with 20y thots who go clubbing is to put yourself out there, daygame, nightgame, online, social circle. Get the bartender to introduce *you* to the girls who just walked in.

If you don't have that kind of setup in your life by the time you're a successful man, you deserve the beta life and wife that goes along with it. This is a great point which others may be overlooking. For those who think being a software engineer, a lawyer, or an accountant makes you undesirable as far as forming connections/friendships with bartenders, DJ's, bouncers, etc., you have to keep in mind that the universal language that everyone speaks - self interest.

When I was first getting my business up and running, many of my earliest clients were bartenders and servers (male and female) who I chatted with at my favorite establishments. It was all surface level at first, but once they found out what I did for a living several of them came my way for tax advice and preparation when they needed some help.

Once I helped them out, (besides becoming loyal clients of mine) they'd hook me up with free drinks, preferential treatment at their bars/clubs, and a bouncer client even let me cut ahead of the really long lines whenever he was working the door at a popular spot on Saturday nights whenever I was around. I formed good friendships with some of them, which opened the door to social circles that otherwise wouldn't have been available had I not helped them professionally. And yes, many of these guys (and girls) hung out with copious amounts of the elusive hot young chicks in their 20's mentioned throughout this discussion.

This was all several years ago and I don't really hang out at these spots much anymore, but my point is that even though you might not have a "sexy" type of job, it's not really that difficult to form connections with the guys many people in this thread are claiming are the pussy slayers. You just have to be a cool guy and offer them some value in return.

EDIT - Also forgot to agree with the point about making your "boring" job sound a lot cooler than it is. I don't tell girls I'm an accountant, I tell them I have my own firm that protects people from being extorted by the Feds . Hey, it's worked on some girls in the past....

In addition, Game and even Life, in general, is about bullshitting a little bit about who you really are. People take it as a sign of confidence.

ALOT of the excuses here are self limited and in a man's head.

The reason you don't see as many posts on game about pick up artist and tactics of the sort is because most of us found over the years that the stuff does not work that well. If you want to get hot girls, I mean it might help a bit but there are other things that help a lot more. This is a great post by Diop that breaks down just one example.

My buddy is self employed but it's a boring business by and large. He sometimes does higher end/more interesting work, but the main part is pretty boring. He does a good bit of his "office" and menial work out at the local bars/restaurants. He socializes with people regularly.

Does he tell people he's making bids for that boring work? No, he tells them he's selling people and managing his people and invoicing clients. Then he shows the most interesting pictures of the work he does or talks about the most interesting jobs. He meets girls and cool guys all the time this way and also gets more places on lock-down as far as knowing the staff than I do by far.

He's not rich, he's not a male model in looks, he's in okay shape, he's slowly balding (but he's got enough hair to look good with a hat on), but he is very social and totally relaxed/chill. I wrote a thread about how to get a job as a bartender, you read it, replied to it asking questions, which i and others answered (up until the point it became clear I was wasting my time doing so) and then you come in here and talk more about your hangups of "not being a bartender during college" or something, derail the entire discussion and ruminate endlessly all while your actions indicate you don't want to make any of the changes you think will benefit you so much (which are odd, by the way, if you've got a legit career track going I wouldn't be stressing a bartending gig, regardless of the fringe benefits)

Dear Lawd! I've intentionally avoided this thread for a long time, as I do with a lot of the "On" anything threads, for various reasons. Just thought I'd poke my head in and, yep, confirmed my instincts rarely fail me. Whiny-ass shit show, as suspected. I've seen a marked increase of these type threads where the wheels completely fall off the wagon. Usually goes something like:

Succesful Game veteran starts thread to engage in conversation over the "On" whatever topic. Then, to give the thread some direction to go, and to clarify the intent of the thread, dude drops a few "solids" to get things started.

Other vets of the Game offer insight and add more good content.

Newbs, instead of looking at the overall picture, just start sharpshooting specifics, and basically revert back to: "But how does this get me some fine ass pussy every night of my life without me putting in any effort whatsoever?"

Vets explain, "If you invest nothing; you get nothing in return."

Newbs then start whining and complaining, even questioning the validity of some of the advice/suggestions being offered.

Vets get frustrated with the newb's self-deprication, lack of initiative, and overall sense of self-loathing blinded by the newb's desire for a push-button, sure-fire way to just keep knocking down dem 9's and 10's. W00T!

There’s a difference between “game” and “maintaining and upping your SMV..”

I’ve seen the wonder boys of cold approach absolutely crush it. Usually they do not have a cool life or a cool job.

And I’ve seen many guys with a cool life absolutely suck with women, despite being OK looking and having something to talk about.

For great results you need both.

I assume that the people shitting on psychological tactics went through a phase were they spent a lot of time learning said tactics, had jobs were they learned selling / hospitality or never had difficulties adapting socially.

You need to have social skills and the men with high SMV who struggle are on the low end of the normal curve. Even average social guys will struggle.

As your social skills improve, so will your results. If you have great social skills and great SMV, you’ll be slaying it.

If you have amazing social skills you can get away with lower SMV and the other way around. If you have a mansion a certain type of gold digging wh... woman will fuck you. Just as if you have great social skills, a certain type of easily manipul... agreeable woman will fuck you.

Different posters here have different perspectives and I see a lack of dialogue and an abundance of flaming.

TLR: improve your SMV and improve your social skills. If your SMV is high but you don’t get pussy, you lack social skills. If you get laid but they don’t stick around, raise your SMV. Improve your life and how you treat women.

It wasn't my intent to come into this thread to rag on you personally. I have enjoyed some of your stories and appreciate your putting them out there

But I feel like the forum in general has lost sight of what "game" actually is and this misnomer-ed thread was a glaring example of that deviation.

I feel its important that discussions of game contain some type of analysis or evaluation in order for it to be of value. There has to be interaction specifics, do's /dont's , best practices, etc...to quoin Black Caesers term "game tech".

The "game" forums are for threads that help men improve on their desired results with women

Otherwise they're just anecdotal musings: Entertaining but not instructive (There is definitely value in that...just not under the guise of "game")

I might have had the flak coming for making this thread about myself because it resonated so well with me.

Guys want to have their cake and eat it too.

Fact of the matter is I love what I do, it is interesting stuff that requires a degree and a brain to do and I find it interesting. I genuinely take some pleasure in reading some good intellectual works and having in-depth conversations with some friends. Quite a few guys on game communities are like this, that is what drove them to game communities in the first place. They were not hammering shot after shot at the age of 16 and acting like idiots, they actually had intellectual curiosities.

Now there is this idea on this thread that you can be this fulfilled man who is true to his life journey and hot women will come in, this is just not true.

Plenty of smart guys true to their life journey have no luck with hot girls because their journey does not line up with what hot girls find hot. I know we have this whole alpha type of be yourself mindset but this is the male equivalent of a fat bitch telling herself that she is as hot as a supermodel and it is society's beauty standard that is fucked.

Look at Hank's situation for example, the guy enjoys some intellectual hobbies but at the end of the day, he posts this thread saying how some guy working a cool job fucks more girls than he does. Now Hank is okay with that, he is older and he is over that stage of his life, it doesn't bother him at much.

You can be true to your "life purpose" and all that jazz but don't be shocked if you struggle with women because your life purpose does not line up to that.

Getting hot girls is a lifestyle and skill on its own, it is up to you to decide whether you want it.

I frankly don't think, from personal experience, that cold approach and "game" are enough. They help but they're far from enough. You have to invest time to strategize and do things about this very topic of getting hot girls and fucking them instead of sticking to his bullshit of it magically happening because you found your life purpose. Nikolai Tesla found his life purpose with his intelligence, he died a virgin.

As for myself.

I have looked for jobs at a bar, they're not easy to get at the decent bars which says how much guys want them for the pussy.

And as for Kaotic's comment, you should be working more than 40-50 hrs a week in your 20s anyways, you have all the energy in the world. I find a job with social proof to be far more beneficial than spam approaching girls as a random guy and potentially earning a bad reputation at a spot if your game is not on point that night.

You have been given more than enough advice over numerous threads and yet you keep harping on the same stupid bullshit, over and over, hijacking every thread to the point that the threads become unreadable. You need to take a break from posting, take action for a few months and report back then and only then.
