RE: 12 kids trapped in Thai Cave Complex
This documentary features the 2 expert British cave divers, Rick Stanton and John Volanthen, who were the ones that found the trapped coach and children originally, and are now part of the group doing the rescue:

Apparently, John Volanthen, whose ex-wife appears in the documentary (around the 10:07 mark) is now divorced:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/07...s-not-yet/

Quote:Annabelle Richards, Mr Volanthen’s former wife, from whom he lives just around the corner in Long Ashton, Bristol, said she had spoken to him while he has been in Thailand.

The couple married in 2001 but split in 2009.

Mr Volanthen’s next door neighbour described him as a 'lovely, very popular guy' and said he was never at home because he was so sporty and active.

“He’s got a young boy and they’re always off camping and out and about,” he said.

Not surprising, he probably found other (cave) holes much more fascinating and interesting to explore.

When he makes it out safely, he (and all the other rescue heros) will probably be awarded with all the honors possible from the Thai king and their own governments.

Will absolutely have no problems finding a nice, young and feminine gf/wife from Thailand either!

My mistake, the name Pattaya is only a (insider, one might say) joke, the cave system being far from the beach city of Pattaya.

But it raises another interesting possibility: the cave seems to be very long and maybe even reach into the neighboring country of Myanmar. A smuggling route?

I mean, if I am not mistaken, isn't this very spot at the heart of the Golden Triangle? Aren't the smugglers from the Golden Triangle known to be using young orphaned boys?

So aren't we possibly in a "drug mules" (or human smuggling) situation, and the "football coach", might be a coyote? Just a wild theory, here.

To have a clearer idea, we would need to see the exact map of the red of communicating caves, to see if indeed they reach into Myanmar.

But my hypothesis makes a bit of sense. International smugglers using teens slender enough to crawl through the caves, carrying drugs. The local authorities not wanting the whole world to know this ugly little secret.

RE: 12 kids trapped in Thai Cave Complex
The interesting theory of the cave networks being used as a drug smuggling route (with children as mules) into Myanmar (Burma) and Laos would explain why the kids did such a crazy thing to go a whole 3 to 4km (2miles) deep into that cave.

This worldwide media fiasco will be the perfect excuse for the Thai government to close the entrances to all these caves on their northern border.

RE: 12 kids trapped in Thai Cave Complex
According to official maps (noticeably hard to obtain, by the way), the vast (6-mile long) sinuous cave, though mostly paralleling the border, is at one point situated less than 1 mile from the Myanmar border, hot spot of the Golden Triangle. Possibly, another branch exists (or has been dug? or, is being dug), reaching into Myanmar?

So, one would like to know if there are actual pictures of these boys playing football as a team, and if their families exist (or, are they orphans?).

No idea, but despite 4 rescues so far, no media channel has any footage of any of the children actually coming out of the cave.
Back in 2010 when the 33 trapped men were pulled out of the collapsed deep mines in Copiapó, Chile, each man was shown as he emerged.

It makes far more sense than the football story. What team would put 11 year olds and 15 year olds. They are leagues apart in development and co-ordination.

Note it only got any attention once the British divers found them. Wouldn't normal parents be loud and worried?

If it was a drug route, wouldn't the coach have a map with him? Or if he knew the route well enough he would've known alternative escape paths?

If only we had a forum member who was an expat in Thailand familiar with the drug trade there...

These up and down turns in the water that these divers have to take right now, would still have been small, narrow, totally dark, and very steep up and down passageways even if the cave was 100% dry when they went in.

12 kids and 1 adult 3km deep into a pitch black narrow cave network with no equipment, no flashlights and no shoes ?
That's some crazy shit.

I did stuff exactly this crazy as a teenager. Normal teen boy behavior, and as others have pointed out, Thais are pretty mellow people, they just kind of do stuff.

Although, I can't believe they didn't have flashlights. Don't buy that.

If you guys looked at the original article about this incident you would have seen that their family members were outside the cave and that there were also photos of the kids and their families at their homes.

There is a time to speculate and there is time to not. 9/11 lead to wars which caused the deaths of thousands. This event lead to heroes stepping up to the plate and saving the lives of some kids and their coach who made bad decisions.

This is easy to say until you realized theres 10 or 15 other kids who will think you're a pussy. Not to mention you'll be going back through the darkness alone if no one wants to turn around with you.

On a lighter note, has anyone considered the Jewish angle yet, what does Israel stand to gain?

Some backgrounds of the coach and the bios of the boys:

https://edition.cnn.com/2018/07/08/asia/...index.html

Quote:But three years ago, at the Mae Sai Prasitsart school in the northernmost district of the Chiang Rai province near a border crossing into Myanmar, a football team was set up.

They called themselves the Moo Pa, or Wild Boars, and began competing in provincial competitions.

Many of the players came from ethnic minorities and poor families.
Ekkapol Chantawong with students at Mae Sai Prasitsart school by the mountain range housing the cave where they are now trapped.

A lot of the children comes from poor and underprivileged background. And in many cases, sports is a healthy activity for them to be doing, rather than dabbling in video games, drugs or theft. Some might even end up being professional football players.

Quote:Viboonrungruang, who has spent most of the past few days keeping vigil at the entrance of the cave, described his son as a friendly, lively, popular boy who dreams of becoming a professional soccer player and is a supporter of both the Arsenal and Barcelona teams.

Won't waste time speculating on theories but just see this is a story of a well-intentioned teacher who made a misjudgement, ending hopefully, with the best of outcomes with the help from highly skilled volunteers.

Funny you would use a Breaking Bad gif on a thread related to Thailand. Because, last time someone used a Breaking Bad reference on RVF and related to Thailand, it was, coincidence... yours truly. Blush On the RawMeow Confused thread.

It was when I accused him of probably running a drug lab or some (by posting a Breaking Bad image), which provoked his instant wrath; he also accused me, back then, of being "dark" and "paranoid". And next thing you know, mister Sessions is telling the world RawMeow actually was the big drug mastermind of the "dark" web. Go figure; I was not paranoid after all.

Now, you can say as much as you want that the kids crawled, for fun, through passages "merely as wide as three Mars candybars" (quoting the media). I don't buy that. Nobody goes through horrible stuff this grueling and terrifying, without the promise of money, or some threat. Also, this is the Golden triangle: do you think there are other sources of cash available in this area, other than smuggling, for local villagers?

Just stop.

I don't know why conspiracy theories are tolerated on this forum. It undermines whatever political views might develop. There are important things to be said about gender relations in the Western world, but anyone new would run a mile with all the flat earth shit that goes on here.

Heard the latest news - the same divers who pulled the first 4 kids out re-entered the cave at 11 am local time. It takes them about 5 hours to reach the group's location, and another 5 hours to get them out. So they should have reached the other kids by now.

Yesterday, they weren't supposed to come out until 9 pm, but they came out 3-4 hours earlier than expected. So we should probably hear some more news within about 3-5 hours. Conditions are the same as yesterday.

Yesterday, they weren't supposed to come out until 9 pm, but they came out 3-4 hours earlier than expected. So we should probably hear some more news within about 3-5 hours. Conditions are the same as yesterday.

I refuse to believe they shaved off that kind of time without stopping for a few Satanic rituals along the way, thus currying special favors from Lucifer himself.

This whole thing has global elite cave-dwelling demon worship written all over it.

But three years ago, at the Mae Sai Prasitsart school in the northernmost district of the Chiang Rai province near a border crossing into Myanmar, a football team was set up.

Fuck it! what that team needs is 5 whites, 3 blacks, 2 mulattos and 1 north african.

P.S. fingers crossed for the little tykes that they all make it out.

I don't know why conspiracy theories are tolerated on this forum. It undermines whatever political views might develop. There are important things to be said about gender relations in the Western world, but anyone new would run a mile with all the flat earth shit that goes on here.

OK, so according to you, this thread should consist of just two (truthful and valid, actually) posts. One to say "Oh poor kids, this is tragic", and the second "The rescue divers are heroes", and that would be the end of the discussion. No need for any other post, unless one enters into circle jerking.

I on the other (un-jerking) hand, consider that this forum is made for researching the truth, for exchanging opinions and theories, even daring ones.

It reminds me also, by the way, of the Las Vegas hotel shooting thread. When I (and others, including I think BB) said, "I think we'll never see the video footage of the suspected killer entering the hotel with large bags, and neither will we see the video of the Mexican security dude running wounded in the hotel corridors", I was accused of being dark and paranoid and conspiracy theorist. But guess what, unless I am mistaken, we still have not seen these videos (or have we? I am not following the case anymore)?

This shows that the "conspiracy theories" we read here on the forum, often turn out to be true.

And without the possibility to throw theories around and discuss them as intelligent red-pill individuals, this forum would be neutralized, with teeth removed.

I think people who repeatedly ask for "no more politics, no more conspiracy theories", are trying to neuter the forum, to turn it into a harmless, colorless, tame place. Sad.

Now, back to the case at hand: You are at liberty to think that young male teens, right in the heart of the Golden Triangle, are crawling through terrifying immense caves at immense risks, in order "to train for football" Dodgy . I still believe this is more of a training for future professional drug smugglers.

And don't get me wrong: it does NOT mean I would deny them the right to be rescued. These poor boys absolutely deserve to be saved, and to be protected by the State, or by Buddhist monks (as in the famous case of which I posted a picture above).

And another free conspiracy theory, if you don't mind: I don't totally believe the official (and, hard to come by) mapping of the caving. Like, this huge messy red of miles of caves extend East North South, but conveniently not West, so as not to cross into Myanmar? Sure, underground caves are polite, they stop just under the border line. I mean, the official mapping might be true, but it might just as well be untrue (as a cave crossing under a borderline would be a huge embarrassment).

Heard only 4 kids have been retrieved out so far. The coach and other students are still trapped.

Without the ability to read the other posts, like any intelligent individual, your wild, conspiracy based opinions should be kept to yourself

Your very first observation was completely off mark, which shows you're not interested in the facts, just unfounded speculation

If you want to talk about conspiracy theories, there's a thread for that

Has growing up in the western world really gotten so bad that the only reason you can think of to explore a cave is running drugs?
