Another example of clown world: Dennis Rodman is more believable on a topic like this then the purported “media”.
“….and we will win, and you will win, and we will keep on winning, and eventually you will say… we can’t take all of this winning, …please Mr. Trump …and I will say, NO, we will win, and we will keep on winning”.
North Korea could easily come out of the malaise by simply following in the footsteps of China, heck even loosely on Singapore.
Just have a communist leadership while opening the economic model to capitalist - call it communist free market for all I care.
The labor cost advantage of that high-IQ industrious population is so far, that the Chinese Iphone factories will look like California to them.
It would be laughably easy to improve living standards of the population. I doubt that the people would suddenly rise up against him. But whatever - we shall see what happens.
I would crack up if North Korea becomes a booming like Vietnam or Burma and our beloved dessert sons still keep following their blaming of colonialism and try to be refugees in Europe.
We will stand tall in the sunshine
With the truth upon our side
And if we have to go alone
We'll go alone with pride
For us, these conflicts can be resolved by appeal to the deeply ingrained higher principle embodied in the law, that individuals have the right (within defined limits) to choose how to live. But this Western notion of individualism and tolerance is by no means a conception in all cultures. - Theodore Dalrymple

Holding the summit in Singapore was a genius move by Trump.
He was able to show KJU that "see, Singapore is also the result of dictatorship. It can be done, and you don't have to feel threatened."

He showed Kim a video of North Korea with condos and speedboats. Oh fuck me.
I'm a salesman. I know the business. I stand at awe. This is masterful salesmanship, of the kind that will change the diplomatic world forever. This is earthshaking in the political world.
Diplomacy has been carried out according to principles of a century ago. Slow, ponderous, boring, stupid, and ancient.
Now Trump brings in modern sales techniques (really, fairly simple stuff, a 4 minute video) and they blow out every preconception. In retrospect, what a fucking obvious move but wow. Every corporate CEO in the world is sitting back today and enjoying a deep respectful chuckle.
The Democrats are so completely and utterly and deeply fucked. Oh they are fucked.
Oh my love of America and it's system is so strong today. The people in their infinite wisdom chose Trump instead of that horrific witch. The genius of the people forever renewing, forever healing, even when the political system is that badly broken.

To avoid giving Vox MSM a click, this is the video MrLemon was talking about.
Edit.
Meanwhile...Jim Acosta's drama continues. What a gigantic disrespectful asshole.

I got a lot of heat here for the above post I made a year ago and I am glad to see that Trump came through. Dennis Rodman said that Obama brushed him off when he suggested meeting with Kim. Trump is the only one who could have done it.

Im still far from referring to Lil Kim as a "good man". Rather just one who read the writing on the wall and knew what was good for him

Yea, I'm not ready to call Kim Jong Un a good man either but I do think he is THE MAN that has the power to make the world a better place. The ball is in his court whether we like his character or not.
At first I wasn't sure if Trump was the only one who could do this, but the closer I look at it, the more reassurance I get that that is true. Trump has handled the media, the bullshit, and the 3-D chess with North Korea all amazingly.
As far back as I could remember, I always wanted to be a player.

If nothing else.
Should Rocket-Boy go in a different direction to his father. It demonstrates that one generation to another, whatever goal, plan, stratagem one might have in mind.
There's no guarantee your kids will have the exact same conviction & follow suite.
Rocket-Boy can no doubt see what the world has to offer & for what reason exactly does he need to actively isolate his country for?
Especially taking note of the Chinese model of the past two decades.
As much as I'd love to see Globemasters flying over NK dropping pallets of food and medicine as bedraggled norks emerge from their mines and dungeons to wipe away the grime from their brow and witness the birth of a new day...
...that shit simply cannot happen.
The entire nation is a hyper-entangled mess of genocidal brass, murderous prison guards and people who's children's children have been born in jail. Just sorting out who owns what after a situation like this is next to impossible. Does Im Chi own the farm because he's worked it for the last 50 years or does Chi Im's grand-daughter own it because her grandfather was unfairly stripped of his land and tossed in the clink?
The practical answer is obvious but little miss Im might not agree, particularly if she can still trace her ancestry on the land going back 50 generations.
That's just one example of the millions of issues a "short" 50 year upheaval of a nation can cause. They will be stuck with a dictatorship for quite some time until this whole mess can be untangled.
The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

I totally hear you on this. At the same time, NK's leader also wanted to be "acknowledged" for the longest time on the world stage. Unless this whole thing is just smoke & mirrors for him to get what he wants at the negotiating table, I think he is enjoying the feeling of being acknowledged for once.
No one said it would be easy, and the clusterfuck of 70 years of despot will have deep rooted issues.
But also never under estimate the love the people will find for each other. That dividing line has been a burden for the south in many more ways than the north. Most in the north only know what they have been told, while those in the south can see it, travel to it, and understand it. But hate it all the same.
And if there is to be a dictator for some time still - and there certainly will be - lets be happy that at its KJUN who has shown a lot of desire to reach out. Asian countries can do well under smart dictators, and it will be wise to utilize one like this to rapidly progress. At this point who cares about democracy. It will come at some point. Right now, lets just get some food in and let some form of capitalism in.
Yeah, number one concern at this point is the kids.
Starved kids become dumbasses and can set a nation back for generations to come.
The Norks have the same genetics as their southern brothers. Give the kids (and expectant mothers) enough nutrition to keep their brains healthy and much of this mess will melt away with time. That should be priority #1.

Thousands of giant military transport land. Navy supply ships dock. The North Korean people stare in awe, wondering what is next.
The doors open. They see shadowy figures inside. They begin to panic. Then...
Out pop a thousand Ronald McDonald clowns pushing wheeled carts full of savory hamburgers. A giant hologram of Donald Trump magically appears in the sky, saying in a booming voice (dubbed in Korean) "Eat, Eat!"
Down a hundred ramps roll Ford F-150 pickups with mud tires, driven by huge-breasted Miss USA contestants in star-spangled hot pants and cowboy hats. Their 8-cylinder gas-guzzling engines roar and spout flames. The North Koreans fall to the ground, prostate and worshipping.
Kim Jon Un looks on with pride, his arms around 2 of the biggest-breasted blondes. He waves at the Donald in the sky.
Everybody sings.

The number one rule of East Asia is NEVER GIVE UP ANY POWER!
East Asia (and some of SEA) is a region where power is the only real currency. China is the perfect case study. Market liberalization didn't happen out of the goodness of the leaders' hearts. Rather, they realized that they had to choose between risking loosing all their power and ending their efforts to control every aspect of their citizens lives. Make no mistake, if China could grow into a global super-power while telling its people when and with whom to procreate, where to live and where to work, etc, THEY WOULD. They only stopped this approach because it was absolutely untenable and collapsing below their feet.
This explains why the Chinese leadership have actually been moving away from more freedom in the last five years and consolidating their power as opposed to further implementing liberalizing reforms. They are increasing their limits on money leaving the country. They are removing limits on the leader's power terms. They are engaging in a series of other activities aimed at reducing the freedom of the average citizen and increases the government's power.
Kim Jong Un is not interested in reducing his power. He and his predecessors having repeatedly demonstrated that they would rather have their people starving to death than relax their grip on power for even a second.
The play here is to offer Kim a compromise. The tools he needs to grow his country into a more successful nation in exchange for not threatening the global community.
I suspect that Trump's plan is to first neutralize the NK threat long enough to be able to come down hard on China on trade. Remember how Trump's tone regarding China changed somewhat immediately after his visit to Beijing? No doubt, the Chinese top brass made it clear to him that they'd use NK as a destabilizing force if the US backed them into a corner. We'll ensure that NK behaves, they promised, but only if you play nice and allow us to keep using illegitimate tactics to ensure that money and value keeps flooding into China and that it stays there.
