Not believing in suicide = tough guy red pill internet alpha

Please find a couple more braincells to rub together and think about what you are saying.

Suicide is easy

Facing your demons and overcoming them is hard.

And no, I could never kill myself, there are other people I care about, suicide means you are the only person in the world that you give a damn about.

Suicide is a weak cop-out in the majority of the cases. The only guy who gets a pass is Slobodan Praljak:

Now that was a man with steel balls. And he wouldn't have done dropped a cup of poison after his ball busting wife would have left him.

It's unfortunate. You mention pre-wall pussy. He shoulda consulted with Steven Bauer aka "Manolo".

It's hard to say whether liberalism is a cause or a symptom, but the forum saw the downward spiral, and surprisingly not many people in my profession did.

There's the Bourdain we all fell in love with. He cast a light on hospitality workers that wasn't there before and told shit like it was. He revealed kitchens to be this raucous pirate ship and stated he wouldn't change anything about it if he could.

And now look, how things have completely flipped. What was once a freewheeling guy has morphed into this talking head, completely ready to toe the party line and sell himself out, or what was left of him. He buckled like a fucking rat.

"...so I gave her an STD, and she STILL wanted to bang me."

I think it does bring peace...

But, I always felt, even as he was doing his shows, something was eating away at him. Toward the end he got too cynical and almost hateful.

People are angry with a dead man because he "cheated" his family, but you can't possibly know, and those kind of comments are fruitless and mean to boot.

No, it doesn't and it also doesn't bring peace to his family who will have to go on living with the thoughts that he didn't have to die.

Yeah I went a little 4chan with my language there too late to edit.

To put it more politely, I agree with the Catholic perspective that suicide is a mortal sin leading to hell https://www.catholiceducation.org/en/cul...icide.html

And thus Bourdain will not rest in peace.

For most "faith only" Protestant groups suicide is fine and dandy from what I can tell.

How does it take balls... It is the most pathetic thing a man can do.

I agree, this is a coward move especially in public or on video tape or live TV for your family and friends to see and remember for years to come.

I used to work with a guy that killed himself in his garage. He had a teenage daughter that used the garage to enter the house when she came home from school. He left a note outside telling her not to enter the house through the gararge, WHat does she do? Go in through the garage to find him hanging from the rafters. She'll never get that vision out of her mind and will probably need therapy for the rest of her life.

If you want to kill yourself go off somewhere where only the police can find you and not your family.

I don't know the circumstances for Bourdain, But for the two posted vids, definitely coward moves.

I was raised Catholic but never really embraced it. I don't think of hell in the Catholic burn forever way. Hell is our own making and what we bring back with us. In that sense, Bourdain will be bringing back all the pain that caused him to commit suicide, including the taking of his own life, in the afterlife.

That isn't peace but hopefully he will learn to forgive himself and finally find it.

Anyway, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Bourdain didn't give two flying fucks about Trump/politics. Tony simply wasn't going to live a long life if you knew anything about his troubled past. If you were paying attention to his shows, his words were telling of man who didn't have long.

RE: The Anthony Bourdain Thread (RIP)
Anthony Bourdain, celebrity chef and outspoken host of CNN's “Parts Unknown,” says he will not eat in restaurants owned by president-elect Donald Trump.“I will never eat in his restaurant,” Bourdain said in an interview with Eater published Wednesday. “I have utter contempt for him, utter and complete contempt.”

“I can’t see the point, he only talks about himself and he’s only interested in himself,” Bourdain revealed to the New York Daily News. “Plus he eats his steak well done. I think that really settles it.”

Not to mention talking about poisoning Trump.. Yeah, I'm sure Bourdain didn't care... Big Grin

Public disclosure of what?

Anyway, look my post in Hollywood thread: post #931
June 8th on the chart is represented by slight drop, meaning novelty event will occur. But real deal will come on Trump's birthday, the 14th.

I guess i didn't pay attention that closely. I thought he was living an exciting life and he appeared to be in good health. Could you tell he wanted to commit suicide?

In some cases, I don't judge anyone for choosing to end it on their own terms.

Maybe you're in your sixties and just got a diagnosis of Alzheimer's or dementia, and you can feel your memories vanishing and your own identity beginning to crumble, and all you want is to die as yourself. Maybe you're up against pancreatic cancer - as cruel and bleak an affliction as anyone can face in this day and age - and you know the end won't be long in coming but the pain and confusion will see you "die" well before you stop breathing. So you tell your loved ones, your family and your friends, that you don't want to die, but you do want a peaceful and dignified end. As yourself.

No, I don't judge you for that. No more than I judge the many dying soldiers throughout history who've looked up at their brothers in a trench or a moat or a field, and asked them for mercy.

But is that what Tony did?

Doesn't look like it. And I think I do judge him for what he did.

Put aside for a moment that you didn't just have a good life, you had The Life Everyone Wants. You have been to parts of the world you'd never imagined going to, where you don't speak the language or understand the culture or share their faith, and yet the people you meet will take you in and offer you a meal and pray for your safe travels. And so ending that life is a stroke of vicious, callous disregard and ingratitude to everyone who's helped to make it richer and fuller. But sure - put all that aside. I understand there are some people who no wealth of experience and compassion and love can ever make happy. Tony, sadly, may have been one of them. He always struck me as a guy who didn't really know what to do with happiness.

But I draw the line when you have a kid.

I'm not a father, but if I were, nothing could convince me to seek death while my son or my daughter was alive. Nothing. Death will have to come to me before I make anyone sit my child down and explain that I've left them of my own choosing.

And someone's going to have to do that with Ariane Bourdain now. At 11. She's going to have a part of her mind whispering to her that however much her father loved her, it wasn't enough to stay. He won't see her grow up, graduate, meet boys, decide what she wants to do with herself. He won't be there to teach her to cook another meal, or take her abroad to somewhere he remembers fondly, or playfully intimidate the hell out of the guy who's brave enough to ask her to her first dance, or take her out after her first breakup, or help her pick out a good college, or any of the things a woman cherishes having experienced with her father when she's grown up. He extinguished all of that because...what? She doesn't even get to know those reasons, either. All she's got left is a body, and a void in her life where a father used to be.

I don't like that. I don't respect that. And as rough as Tony was looking the last few years, I wouldn't even excuse that decision in the face of a terminal diagnosis. He had the options and wealth to deal with that in other ways, and they included still being a father. To the very end.

I respected Tony tremendously, and was always disappointed to see him (very obviously unhappily) surrounded by sycophantic "progressives" and playing jester and cheerleader to their shitty, nihilistic worldview. It wasn't good for him. But I can't imagine any amount of unhappiness ever outweighing love for your child.

And I feel like I should close this post with "RIP", but here I am, just shaking my head. So instead, I wish his daughter peace and grace, and I hope she receives every ounce of the love and support she'll need as she mourns for the rest of her life.

RE: The Anthony Bourdain Thread (RIP)
I was a big fan of his so I was shocked to hear this news. For Mr Bourdian his life has been a rollercoaster that has placed him in the most obscure and remote places on earth. For me this guy has already lived nine lives with has likely cheated death many times. You have to wonder now what did him to the point where his go-to cocktail of booze and meds out him over the edge. In this very thread, many of us speculated that the divorce from his wife would place a heavy toll on him. Suspicions of a flamed out marriage with potential cuckability with lurking monetary savagery can be enough to make a valuable dude take a few extra pills then he usually does.

With two high profile suicides this week the attention and discussion will focus on mental health (as it should). But, as typically the case, it will only be lots of hot air tossed around with no real concerted push to have society and culture start to think about the importance of making sure the mental state is sound. Also, what will not get discussed is that for all these great people who do great things, many sacrifices and take lots of hidden beatdowns to create and present themselves out to the masses. The masses consume but never think about the energy it takes to keep the sedated and happy. This piece isn't a sympathy angle for celebrities, not even close. More so, there should be an acknowledgement that for people to great things it takes considerable effort and in many cases, this effort runs many people into the ground, or off the bridge, literally.

Anthony was an impressive person, and many people will miss him. It is rare in these days to find fascinating and unique people.

Thumbs Down RE: The Anthony Bourdain Thread (RIP)
He drank the kool aid and hated the thought of being a man....

Look, I never wanted to be part of bro culture. I was always embarrassed. If I ever found myself, and I mean going way back, with a group of guys and they started leering at women or making, “Hey, look at her. Nice rack,” I was always, I was so uncomfortable. It just felt, it wasn’t an ethical thing; it was that I felt uncomfortable and ashamed to be a man and I felt that everybody involved in this equation was demeaned by the experience. I was demeaned by standing there next to things like this. They were demeaned for behaving like this. It’s like sitting at a table with somebody who’s rude to a waiter. I don’t want to be with someone like that.

But, look, I accepted when the book came out, that I was the bad boy. There I was in the leather jacket and the cigarette and I also happily played that role or went along with it. Shit was good. People said a lot of silly things about me. People actually used the word macho around me. And this was such a mortifying accusation that I didn’t even understand it.

RE: The Anthony Bourdain Thread (RIP)
Seems like another case where a rich and famous man plays himself by choosing a poor life-partner and marrying a ball-busting cheating jiu-jitsu tomboy. The stress of seeing his cheating ex-wife rolling around with sweaty men, the mental gymnastics required to keep his progressive leftist worldview going and rationalize it all as being GREAT, combined with lack of game post break-up, sends a man over the edge.
