May on the other hand, well, she's willing to torpedo her party's long term chances by allying with the DUP to get through her queen's speech and any no-confidence votes.

Due to English-Votes-For-English-Laws, the DUP won't be able to help her get much done, it'll be a whole parliament of lame ducks.

Even former PM John Major thinks it'll be a violent disaster.

His shadow foreign secretary, who would have been the fourth most important politician in the UK if Labour had won, posted a photo a couple of years back on Twitter mocking people who had St George's cross (English flag) on their house, and hates the patriotic working class. It is really dawning on me that I am going to have to leave Great Britain within the 5-6 years or so. I will wait at least until the next general election, and may even stay for another 5 years after that if the prospect of a Labour government is put off until the next election.

I am not sure the scale of the leftist influence on young voters has been fully grasped yet. I have been looking at data for past general elections, and as recently as 1987 18-24 year olds voted in roughly equal numbers for Labour and the Conservatives. Now it is almost 3x as many voting for Labour than Conservatives.

Don't know if any of you saw this, but after the Grenfell tower fire Corbyn said that empty properties in London should be 'seized' by the Government to make room for them. We are dealing with someone who is openly promotes Communist-lite policies.

I can't hate him for that. I disagree with him, but I can't hate him for that as those are his principles and he is entitled to hold them. What I hate is how the media so easily ignores things like that, the destruction of basic property rights. I hate how the standard position/argument on any subject is always the left-wing one, and having an alternative opinion makes you a sexist/racist/Tory bigot.

Not to sound too much like I'm predicting the world will end, but the UK is absolutely fucked. I used to close my eyes and try not to believe it, that something could change. I hope you're all looking at ways of getting out over the next 10 years or so, or leaving quickly if SHTF.

The left is very strong in the United Kingdom. It took me a while personally to distance myself from the socialist way of thinking. When your school is telling you that socialism is the way forward, when your friends are telling you; and when the only intellectual opinions presented by the media are socialist ones. Then you have a situation where you feel part of something that is greater than yourself and moving forward.

Plus the education system and general culture in the U.K plummeted downwards in the last twenty years or so. In fact, I would say it was probably terrible ever since the end of the second world war, if you are excluding private education. People including your average politician still believes that it is the 1980s where the whole of China is still starving and that Bob Geldof singing a few songs is trendy and hip.

The archetype of the old British money class running things is outdated and gone. It is all international money, they complete own us, plus the rest of the world doesn't' have an issue with making money. When you look at Erdogan's recent speech, urging his people to have big families, make lots of money, drive expensive cars in good neighbourhoods. In the U.K, culturally we have had the complete opposite as that. I saw many middle class kids who grew up with this mentality, that they needed to 'have it hard'. It was almost an initiation for them into adulthood they believed. So they ended up making bad decisions, which were the complete opposite of self improvement.

Again it is something that I have witnessed anecdotally myself, this general culture of apathy and nihilism. It is a product of this current of socialism that you see everywhere.

Jacob Rees-Mogg as a thinker is a heavyweight, and he's a staunch Englishman. He is probably too thoughtful and too measured to be PM - he is a man who is quick to acknowledge the strength in his opponents and their arguments. He is an extremely decent, moral and resolute man. He is the sort of PM we need, but I fear not the kind that could win. His type is better suited to being the power behind the throne.
