That's because the US is the principal cause of so much of the suffering and instability that we see in the world today. From Korea to Vietnam, Latin America, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq to Libya, Yemen and now Syria.
Yeah if it weren't for the US we'd see Kim Jong Dung leading the United Nations to world peace.
This kind of blanket statement could be used to justify anything, it's drivel.

Back in the day, commie apologists in Europe used to make excuses for Stalim too. Then for Mao.
A few years later we are told "That's not the real communism. This time it's going to be different!" Always shifting the goalposts.
By some accounts Cuba was the most successful communist regime in that only 10,000s of innocents were murdered instead of millions.
I'm currently in Cambodia where you can see the aftermath of real communism. Death, poverty and destruction. The country is still recovering decades later.
No. It's never different. North Korea is undoubtedly a horrific place to live. Time will eventually uncover their atrocities.
PM me for accommodation options in Bangkok.

It's yet another example of what happens when you get God out of country and allow a centralized government to grow beyond any measure of control. In other words, it's a leftist utopia. Free education, equal opportunity for work, authoritarian rule and no religion.
Straight out of the Communist Manifesto.
I'm sure God prefers a country that is $20 trillion in debt, has 10's of millions living in poverty without adequate healthcare. Cities with crumbling infrastructure, an education system that is breaking down, massive inequality, women who are fat and lack any kind of femininity, and an economy largely based on waging illegal wars across the planet in order to expropriate all the wealth for the 1% Globalist elite.
Straight out of the Oligarchy.
Ummm, yeah...
Some education vs pure indoctrination.
Some inequality vs equal poverty.
Some fat women vs women too malnourished to have/support children.
The capacity for plunder vs mere wet dreams of same.
Some health care vs virtually no health care.
Some infrastructure vs virtually no infrastructure.
An indebted future generation vs no future generation.
Now if you want to compare America to some other more successful socialist nation rather than a virtually failed communist nation then go ahead, but if you insist on comparing America to North Korea then you're going to come out looking foolish every time.
p.s. For the rest of us that view communism's history without rose coloured glasses, we remember well that if it weren't for the fascist oligarchy of American crony capitalism and empire building then there's a very real possibility that the entire world would have fallen to the much-worse fate of ending up in a communist hell where your options in life were grinding poverty or the gulag.

RE: North Korea Conflict Thread
It seems like Trump's bluff was called.
http://theduran.com/trump-administration...rl-vinson/
Quote:I recently said that the first law of international diplomacy is not to bluff China, because the bluff is certain to be called. It makes even less sense to bluff China in a situation where China knows it is being bluffed. That is a recipe not just for humiliation but for ridicule, which is what the Trump administration is reaping now.
The danger in this sort of behaviour is that not only has the US lost face in a region where face preeminently matters, but it has done so in a way that may actually increase the risk of something going catastrophically wrong.
Kim Jong-un, young and inexperienced as he is, and surrounded by advisers who may be too frightened of him and too much in awe of him to counsel him wisely, may now think that any move the US threatens against him is a bluff, and this may embolden him to take increasingly reckless steps without calculating the US’s likely responses correctly.
More pertinently, President Trump may feel that after this debacle he has to take forceful action against North Korea if he is to preserve whatever credibility he has left with Beijing and Pyongyang. That may lead him to do reckless and dangerous things against North Korea which are objectively unwarranted.
The blame for this debacle rests in part with President Trump but mostly with his National Security Adviser General McMaster. He presumably was aware of where the Carl Vinson actually was, and as the President’s National Security Adviser it was his job not only to keep the President informed, but to advise the President of the folly of a bluff which was certain to be called. Not only does he seem not to have done so, but on the contrary he actively colluded in a bluff which has brought the US nothing but humiliation and shame.

RE: North Korea Conflict Thread
What a retarded analysis.
1. Did the NK nuclear test happen? No.
2. Did NK look like total clownshoes when their display of mighty 1940s technology failed? Yep.
3. Is failing to clarify where your assets are in the face of apparently fake reports about them a bluff? No. It's called opsec. I wouldn't tell the world where my assets were either. This was from a president who has repeatedly said he won't broadcast his exact plans.
3.1 How do we know the info that the carrier group in question is actually far away isn't itself misdirection? I'm not saying it is, but it's a real possibility that should not just be discarded without solid evidence.
4. Were/are there subs in the area? Who knows? Probably. Do subs carry tomahawks? Yep, and bigger weapons.
5. Sorry, but no, Russia and China cannot just keep tabs on our nuclear submarines wherever they go. It's not even that easy to track surface ships.
How exactly was the "bluff" called? The author never bothered to explain that.
And what's this humiliation and shame I'm supposed to be feeling, exactly?
Just because a specific carrier group "wasn't present" doesn't mean we have no presence in the area. We have something like fifteen permanent bases in South Korea; we don't need a carrier group to show up to be able to screw up North Korea's plans. Carrier groups are used for force projection, but we already have force projected there permanently.
The guy who wrote that article is a fucking idiot. It reads like a pure propaganda piece, relying on the faith of the reader to skate past obvious logic holes.

RE: North Korea Conflict Thread
If you don't support NK you're a globalist and crony for the elites. Gotcha.
Ironic then that NK is probably the best example available where a small fat elite have their boot at the throat of the masses.
Seriously, are you hearing yourself? People are adopting this view that as long as something is anti-US it's a net positive regardless of the costs. I'm European and for all the US faults I can confidently say the world would be a worse place without it.
Still, these are all just smokescreens for distracting the discussion from NK. I mean you don't even believe yourself that NK is anywhere near a livable place or we'd not see these constant attempts at misdirection.

100% in agreement with Vicious here and have to say that our disagreements with his stance on Sweden/Muslims have nothing at all to do with this topic.
As far as communism goes, I was born in the best communist system that ever existed and am enjoying many of its benefits even today, but even I would never want to go back to it, and going back to a poverty-stricken murderous regime like NK's is completely out of the question.
Let's put an end to this idolization of communism. It has had 100 years all over the globe to produce at least one admirable, somewhat sustainable result and there are no such results to be seen. Enough is enough.

Neocon claptrap. The current but declining unipolarity has been the cause of much upheaval and political strife that we see in the world today. Since 1989, the US has invaded and destroyed a number of countries, all under illegal and false pretexts. I give you the destruction of Libya, Ukraine and Yugoslavia, the invasion of Iraq which destabalised the ME in one full sweep not to mention Syria and Yemen. How is the world a better place and safer place than what it was 25 years ago?
Thankfully the rise of China and the rebirth of Russia along with the anti-globalist alliance of Iran, Syria etc. will move the world towards a multipolar shift which will challenge the negative effect of the US imperial hegemon that is for all intent and purposes an Empire of Chaos.
One thing for sure is that when the time comes, I wont be the one cheering for the Oligarchy and the 1%.

RE: North Korea Conflict Thread
Well, I suppose the North Korea Conflict Thread is living up to it's name. Just not in the way we anticipated.
I suppose Traktor and others won't be happy until we invent a time machine, stop all resistance to communism and allow most of the world to starve or be butchered in ideological purges.
Just curious, Traktor. How many men women and children has the imperialist US killed vs how many men, women and children have communist regimes killed? My maths is a little rough, but isn't the combined kill-count of all western governments still lagging by 100million or so?
Shit, not that I want to split hairs or anything.

Just a head's up Lenny, if you are going to quote the Black Book of Communism please don't. That was debunked years ago.
Besides, it wasn't the USSR/Russia who invaded Iraq and turned the ME upside down with a resulting human toll of misery, death and destruction into the millions.
But hey! you boys diverted the topic away from the issue at hand to the "why don't you live there" crap which doesn't fly.

Come now, Leonard, you know damn well those comrades died in service of the revolution, and therefore it doesn't count.
We all have to make sacrifices for the revolution, whether it's food, basic human decency, our children, or our lives.
And while 7+ million Ukrainians may have starved to death under Soviet rule, it was only when the Imperialists took over when things really got bad.

I went and toured the Killing Fields in Cambodia (which I believe is one of 300 similar sites countrywide) and seeing what they did to other human beings there, is so shocking. Words are inadequate really. There was also a school that was converted into a torture base where special political enemies were taken before being sent to the fields.
They would photograph everyone, and I saw these photographs. Looked at the faces.
Their children were there also. Scared. Crying. Some looked like they were in a daze. One woman was holding onto her newborn baby.
One guy was staring into the camera with this look of crazed defiance. And I felt so sad because I knew they broke him after that photo was taken.
In the killing fields themselves human bones are everywhere. Children's bones and clothes.
They had a tree there called the killing tree where they grabbed infants by their feet and smashed their heads against the tree.
People there weren't shot. They were butchered to save bullets. Axes, Clubs, Tire irons, knives. If it could be used to end a life it was.
1 in 4 people died in Cambodia.
It's not even the worst example of what Communism has done.
We were meant for far more than to suffer in our self created prisons only to die alone. It doesn't have to be that way. It never did.
