I recently read QC's article in RoK about why Korea will remain a stalemate. It made some very interesting points. After doing a bit more reading I'm more or less of the same opinion (with one caveat I'll get to in the end).

South Korea is the worlds 11th largest economy, based largely around their capital Seoul. Seoul is only 35 km from the border and very vulnerable to any NK retaliatory action. If the US does any significant strike on NK, the options for retaliation against the South, and de facto US troops are going to be enormous and impossible to manage without extensive preparation.

One of the things that this thread has not really done much of is actual Wargaming. What are the possible actions that the US/SK can take in striking NK, and what will be NK's response?

This is where much of confusion comes in. Some people feel that NKs military can be easily degraded through airstrikes or EMP blasts. However, some people say that the air defenses of NK are not quite so feeble, so this would pose a challenge. In either case, even with minimal air defenses, any kind of effective air campaign to degrade NKs military ability would have to be sustained and rather massive.

Then what? What happens with even a limited surgical strike (it would have to be quite massive to be effective)? What do we think the North Koreans do next?

I'll end this post at that first wargame "play" but it would be interesting to hear others thoughts. I am of the opinion that any NK retaliation would be too upsetting for litterally millions of people and troops south of the border to make a military strike worthwhile.

Even a limited response in the form of an artillery attack would have dire consequences for SK and severely disrupt their economy, as well as disrupt China's economy with massive mobilizations etc... The South Koreans didn't want it before when there was even less at stake, and I think they want it even less now. In short, they just don't want to deal with the problem while spending as least amount of resources as possible to appear like they are ready to do so.

Some other side questions:

Would SK's army buckle and run like Saddam's (incredibly at the time of Gulf War 1 it was listed by some as the 4th or 5th most powerful army in the world)? Or would we see a determined resistance?

*only because the world's existing political homeostasis is becoming increasingly unstable do I think I might be wrong on this, but other than that nothing to me points out a serious conflict anytime soon.

Again, this is just to see about wargaming this out, which I have yet to see any comprehensive effort to do so in this thread.

There also another very simple and often overlooked fact.

Despite all the "official" hatred between the Koreas, most people in the south do not want to see their own people in the north being killed mercilessly through bombing and warfare.

Both Koreas are very ethically homogeneous with almost no significant foreign minorities. Which was a real surprise to me, cause I had many Korean friends abroad and they never acted that way outside their own country, but inside Korea they assume a very different (almost rascist) attitude.

So while people in the south might officially "hate" the DPRK, they still consider those people ethnically pure Korean. If they see an entire population of 24 million Koreans (regardless if they are diehard communists) getting bombed and killed in the thousands or millions, many people in the south will change their attitude towards killing their own people very quickly, and not support such a attack financed and led by foreigners.

People have addressed those points multiple times over. But the nature of the regime is also relevant in any moralistic considerations. So let's talk practically.

North Korea started the Korean war by invading the South in 1950 (their government lie that we attacked them first). They have killed both Korean and American soldiers during the "ceasefire." They have kidnapped and killed various innocent citizens from non-combatant countries such as Japan among others. North Korea has been an aggressor over and over again. It's not the same as Libya, Syria or other countries minding their own business. People are trying to make relativist arguments and I'm sorry but downplaying the regime's atrocities is being an apologist. Go tell that stuff to the families of American soldiers who were murdered in Panmunjom. North Korea has a track record of attacking first. It's not theoretical.

So how is all this relevant to US interests? NK are now trying their damn best to develop long range missiles. It's not western propaganda. North Korea openly state this in their own announcements. They have also make threats to neighbouring countries and the US on a regular basis. Once they have that capability it will be a much more dangerous world for all of us, not just Asians.

To address another point made earlier, the western media pushing propaganda over North Korea? Give me a break. They have ignored the place for years on end or otherwise treated it as a running joke. It was Trump who made these moves of his own accord. It has not been on the agenda at all. I have brought it up before but few people were interested as it all seems far away, I imagine.

The US can either continue the Clinton/Bush/Obama policy of doing absolutely nothing (and letting the Norks get closer and closer to long-range nuclear capability) or work with China to weaken the regime while we still can. I'm pleasantly surprised that Trump is pursuing the latter and I fully support him. The US should work with China to take down Kim without a huge war and install a Chinese puppet regime that can slowly re-integrate with the South. That would be the ideal case in my opinion.

You did not even have austerity like that in communist countries in Europe - you had certain lacks occasionally, but at least they had a better system.

Based on their Korean mindset I would say that they take communism far more seriously than any other country in existence. Also they are mired more in a Stalinist system which is far worse.

They will however never attack anyone with nukes - they are too rational to do that.

One could only make the point of whether it would be fine to attack them to liberate the people, since their living conditions are terrible.

But let us be frank here - the globalists don't give two shits whether all North Koreans die impaled by the Great Leader. They only care that they don't control one country out there and in addition that country is armed with nukes.

My basic assessment is: they don't give a rat's ass. They will one day blast them with advanced weaponry that North Korea could not afford and that will be the end of it.

Until then you will have plenty of saber-rattling, because the globalists want you to feel afraid and silently sanction many missilies and anti-missilies and anti-anti-missiles and more military budget expenditure.

The North Koreans are in a shitty place.

Good points Bushido. I want to reiterate that NK has killed multiple US soldiers, I think at least 50 since the ceasefire (already a good reason to go to war). They play videos of bombs dropping in US cities on their tv networks. They are actively working on improving those bombs to be able to bomb those US cities in their videos.

It is in the US interest to immediately solve the NK problem before it becomes a situation where they can reach out and hit the US.

I want to add because Zel just posted, it is a big assumption that they are too rational to attack another country with a nuke. I wouldn't even want that to be an option for them.

As far as I'm aware, Roosh has never even been to Asia. That aside, plenty of very attractive girls in Seoul. Especially in the nightclubs.
