RE: Think I just break up my LTR, over protecting the environment
I would next her (or demote her to a plate, if nothing else, because she is well...21).

First of all, Dalaran, since you prefer LTR's (which I fully respect), you need to think...in the long term. Let me explain.

First of all, she loves her enviromentalist dogma more than you. As simple as that! If you haven't managed to ''deprogram'' her during the duration of the LTR (2 years, wasn't it?), you never will!! No matter what you do, she will always love her ideology more than you (yes, even her children).

Now, if you decide to carry on with the LTR...things will get worse. Much, much worse. Especially if you get married. She will divorce rape you (in a eco friendly way) for sure (remember, her ideology trumps family). Your children will suffer. You will suffer. Your wallet will suffer. But Mother Gaia will be pleased

I am speaking from personal experience. I know quite a few vegans. Ain't theory.

Now... .

There are plenty of other LTR's in Europe, which will be the same (or better) quality compared to your ex -LTR. Looking at your picture from the Style thread (you have a charming faceBig Grin), you'll find one. You seem to be a good catch (no homo!). Keep your head up, and happy hunting.

She then launched into a sudden attack beast mode about how vaccines are killing people, anti-biotics are evil, that ancient people lived healthier than we do with plants as their medicine.

I kept my cool and let her have at it, occasionnally throwing it back at her. I wanted to see the red flag unfurl.

It devolved fast and she started attacking me, about why I dont do my part to save the environment, like using an electric car or shit. "You are so selfish, when you eat meat you dont think about how these animals are mis-treated" Bitch if I want me some steak I could care less how a bull die.

Note that none of the things she mentioned are actual "environmental issues." Vaccines save lives, not kill people. Antibiotics are fantastic when not overused - I suppose she'd be OK with dying from bacterial meningitis. And it's perfectly possible to farm and ranch meat for consumption without putting 500,000 chickens in a shit-filled warehouse where they peck each other to death.

Ancient people lead "healthier" lives? Fuck that, the "good ol' days" were terrible overall. She'd be lucky to live to 35. And many of those saintlike "ancient peoples" ate animal meat all the live-long day - they don't exactly get a lot of PETA-cred in my book.

It doesn't sound like she was upset over, say, your failure to recognize the negative impact of Arctic oil drilling, hydraulic fracturing wastewater disposal, or a debate over the cost-per-kWh of solar panel break-even. Those actual environmental issues aren't on her girl-radar.

Quote:The final straw came when she said something along the lines of "I hope you and others who are polluting the environment die with a choked lung".

At the end she said "I'll sleep at my place tonight", to which I said, "yeah, me too"

You guys broke up because her crazy finally showed up, and it sounds like it's a real doozy of a case, not because she's fucking Mother Jones. Good riddance, I say.

Before one goes calling people out on "destroying the environment" it would probably be a good idea to have a clue with respect to what they'e talking about.

Sounds like an uppity cunt about her hippie-ass beliefs.

If you've been with her for a couple years and this is that big of a deal to her then it should have been brought up far sooner. Regardless, she's got some mouth on her and that's some disrespectful damn behavior.

I would tell her it seems like our priorities are very different and we should part ways. She is either going to agree and/or let you walk away with little to no protests, or she will apologize profusely and beg to have you back. Her reaction should make your decision easy.

Also too much value on virginity. When I was 19 I was dating a girl who was a virgin. We dated for almost 4 years. She ended up cheating on me 3 times and now she's a webcam whore. Go figure.

Frankly I will take your LTR's opinion here. I researched the subject of vaccines extensively - there are literally hundreds of thousands of doctors - among those even Nobel price winners who are opposed to vaccination.

Antibiotics are useful only in very tiny amount of circumstances. They are utterly overused.

As for the slaughter of animals - yes is it useless and it is brutal and so are modern feedlots. They are not even necessary since modern societies could give animals a nice life and even a quick painless death, but society is too dumb to do it.

As for the global warming scam - it is just that - a scam. Air is even cleaner than it was 20 years ago in the West.

The girl is salvagable, but frankly if you want to vaccinate your kids and she doesn't, then let her go.

I don't mind the vegan stuff - there are no vegan civilizations ever in human history for a reason. It is very tough to raise kids healthily as vegans since you need to have access to so much healthy food and drink the whole year over. I can be done in our times, but it is rather tough.

As for longevity - you know how they calculated the life expectency in the past, do you? They took the 5/10 kids that died at childbrith and came to 35, because the adults grew to be 70-100. There were tougher periods in the past - also the kids did not die due to lack of vaccines, but more due to massive errors during pregnancy and lack of basic medical care during childhood - also accidents were far more deadly in those times, a broken leg could kill you. Trauma treatment is great in modern medicine - the rest not so much.

Also - could you PM me her number? I will take good care of her.
I don't think that you can make it work with her - but I can - heh.

Yeah I agree, getting into a LTR or marrying a young virgin seems like a bad plan overall, at least if you live in the West; might go OK for a while but you just know after a few years someone's going to give her a dog-eared copy of 50 Shades, she'll read it cover to cover in one sitting and think "Oh wow that sounds like fun, why can't I get my ass whipped by a billionaire?" and meanwhile you're working your ass off at a regular job and just seem soooooo lame by comparison and she'll feel she got ripped off.

No one wants to marry a camwhore, but I don't think it's utterly impossible for a woman to be loyal. It's definitely big ego to think a woman with little experience with men is going to be certain she chose the best one right out of the gate forever and all time, though. Better that she have some reality picture of what relationships actually are, and what they aren't.

I think I've come up with a rule of thumb that might be helpful: Don't date or marry women for the qualities that they self-describe as their "selling-points."

Girl plays up the fact that she's a virgin to you? Don't date her because she's a virgin. Girl brags about how much she cares about environmental issues? Don't date her because you see yourselves building an off-grid solar home together. Girl tells you she's "honest to a fault"? Don't date her because you think that means she never lies about anything. Girl tells you what a great cook she is? Don't date her for the wonderful food (it won't be wonderful.)

At the very least - "trust, but verify."

I'm not saying that girl-self-promotion of any type is a complete dealbreaker, but they're probably not the real areas you should be trying to get a read on. In my experience you won't ever go wrong

It's widely thought that people who are chronically dishonest loudly proclaim their integrity as a diversion, much like when you hear a woman say "I don't like drama", it means her last relationship ended when she started waving a knife around and she's hoping you don't look into it.

I would go so far as to suggest that anyone who is drawing attention to their own "selling points" should be assumed to be hiding something.

RE: Think I just break up my LTR, over protecting the environment
I think Neubache nailed it.

You have to fine tune your antenna for female disrespect.

Because long before it becomes verbal, it shows up in her facial expression and body language, so, even though it seems petty, you need to call her out early and often, not angrily necessarily, on her behavior, even down to the level of: "Don't give me that look," "And don't use that tone of voice with me."

The Blackdragon Blog is an excellent resource for managing disrespect in a relationship, just do a search for "drama" and "long soft next." His view on drama is, basically, that he doesn't like it, so he doesn't tolerate it. He will listen to his girl's problems, and be sympathetic, but he draws the line at when she makes him the object of all her frustrations that have nothing to do with him.

To channel him to some degree, he would not have minded if your girl wanted to have a reasonable discussion about animal cruelty, but if she went off like your girl did, he would have let her know she couldn't talk like that to him, and he wouldn't discuss it unless she calmed down. If she didn't get the hint he would have just said, something like, well, it seems like you are not capable of having a nice meal right now, and he would have got up and left if he knew she could get herself home, or he would have told her to come with him if she had no way to get home.

On the way home, he wouldn't get mad, and wouldn't argue, maybe turn on the radio, he would make sure she was safely home and left. Then, he wouldn't contact her for a week, or respond to any of her texts, whatever. After a week he would call her up like nothing had happened.

The psychological beauty of this approach is that it is basically nonverbal after a certain point. You tell her what you expect, and if she doesn't respect it, you leave. It is not the silent treatment, which is passive aggressive, it is just having standards. It is also clever because you are showing her the consequences of disrespecting you, and letting her figure out on her own whether it is worth it to treat you badly. You don't get drawn into any arguments and counter recriminations, her turf basically, you just set your standards, firmly and unemotionally, and let her figure out on her own the consequences of ignoring them.

The key is that she has to figure it out herself, so it seems like it is her idea, not yours, and that is soo clever, because no one likes to be given orders or ultimatums, women especially. Who doesn't hate a sentence that starts with: "You need to . . . "

You are right to say that the point of this is not the subject matter, but the disrespect, and as Neubache said earlier in the thread, catch it early, and be firm, and these sorts of blowups will be defused long before they happen.

Good luck. This is a common problem, and I know you will figure it out, and am looking forward to updates.

“The greatest burden a child must bear is the unlived life of its parents.”

I suppose the particulars of the "philosophical disagreement" are finally irrelevant, anyway.

I think the real issue is that you seemed to persist in arguing with a woman ("throwing it back at her" when she's already srs mad IS arguing) about whatever it was in the fashion as if she were a man. I don't mean discussions, I have "discussions" with the girl I'm dating all the time (because it's fun), we definitely don't agree on everything, but nobody gets srs angry and we fuck afterwards and all is fine. But I think actual angry-arguing with a woman is always, always a losing option. Sounds like she launched the first strike, and at that point the only reasonable option is to say "get in the car I'm taking you home", shut up, and at least soft-next.

But given your rep count I think maybe you knew this at some level, yeah?

So it makes me sort of think that the real issue wasn't some point of philosophical disagreement, you say you had been dating this girl for 2 years; surely some of her ideas about things must have presented themselves before?

Sounds like one or both of you might have wanted out of this relationship, and I think it's possible the reasons don't have a lot to do with how ancient hunter-gatherers did or did not live. And that's fine, but if I'm correct it might be good to think about what the real issues were.

Yes! He has a lot of good material about "drama-management" in longer-term relationships that's worth a read. Disclaimer: no financial involvement

RE: Think I just break up my LTR, over protecting the environment
Update :

I continue the radio silence, focusing on getting things done and checking my emotion. There’s no pain or anger nor anguish there, there’s just a bit of sadness on the eventuality of having to end an otherwise enjoyable relationship. I realized that I’m not mad at her nor myself at all, most of my thoughts drift to “I’ll do better next time”

Then she ringed me toward the end of the afternoon. First words were “did you sleep well?” “Great, for once I have the bed all to myself on Sunday” “Why didn’t you call me?” “Oh, thought you wanted to be alone” She just giggled and we talked as normal. I proposed for her to come over at night, to see where she’s at emotionally and maybe discuss.

I got home and she was already there, jumping out to surprise me. Also brought some of my favorite food. Could pass for an apology, I suppose. She was obviously in a cheerful mood, after realizing that I wasn’t mad at her. Spanked her real good and proceeded to business, that night and next morning.

===============================

Before some of ya niggas get all disappointed and like “bro shoulda taught her a lesson right then and there maybe even next her” Laugh , let me back track:

What kind of ungraceful cunt I have to be, if she was coming over in cheerful reconciliatory mood with gifts, to devolve the situation AGAIN and soil both our good mood?

She came over with good intention, and I wasn’t a simmering chode ready to explode because I can’t hold my anger in. It was neither the time nor place to go over what happened Sunday.

At least now I know several things before I go in all gun blazing. 1)She does value our relationship by reaching out first 2) She is indeed still a child with mood changing every second 3)She probably thought it was no big deal and that it should not affect our relationship.

She didnt actually say sorry, which is bad. But at least I can understand it, I myself I'm a very proud man.

But I’m not done. If I’m to deliver an ultimatum, it will be at a time, place and frame of my choosing.

==============

Friday eve, I’ll come over to meet her in front of her place with a simple “There’s something for us to discuss”

I’ll lay it down in very simple terms: “I don’t care for your beliefs, it has nothing to do with our relationship. However, what you said to me were both childish and disrespectful. If you did mean it, then I can not tolerate someone who disrespect me and you should not be with someone you can disrespect. If you didn’t mean it, then know that you can never ever speak like that again”

As Leonard said, I wont go further than that and wont get drawn into her battleground. If things go wrong, off I go to the nearest salsa club and I don’t have to deal with throwing a girl out of my home.

If it goes well, then like some of you said, my LTR will be stronger because of this.
=======================================

Now let me address some of the points you guys made:

@Kaotic: really appreciate it man, you have been there since the beginning.

I have to clarify something here: there’s absolutely no marriage nor kid in the picture. I’m 26 and she is 21. Who knows what will happen in the next few months or year? One thing I know for sure, when and if this ends, I’ll come out stronger and wiser, not bitter and women-hating.

I’ve said it before, I treat all LTR as training ground for my eventual fatherhood, and you always train as if you are really fighting. I know the game, I love and detest it. This girl takes nothing away from me and contribute somewhat to the stability of my life, in a period when I need it the most (I'm trying to get citizenship).

I’ll take that over burning blood fuel to bang random chicks any time. And EVERY fucking Paris chicks are the same, most are worse. If its not environmentalism its feminism, Simon-de-Beauvoir-ism or some nonsense French stuff that none of us can spell.

If my frame was solid then short of voting for Hillary (whom she hates) her belief should not even factor into the ltr.

While I adopted stoicism throughout my training, I’m still pretty war-like, and I have very very low tolerance for bullshit. Which is what makes me detest the game because half of it is about dealing with chicks’ bullshit in order to bed them.
Despite that, throughout 2 years we rarely have arguments. And every time she apologize first. It goes to say that she has less BS to deal with than most girls. Now, if she does decide to up the BS, out the window she goes.

People saying virgins are overrated are missing the point. Never did I said all virgins are good. It does one thing though: that you are the first man in her life, and you can rule out that her behaviors are some influence from some strange cock in her life previously.

I’ll put it this way: A virgin with good quality > a girl with good quality > >>> a virgin with shitty character.

================

You guys can grab the next order of pop corn while waiting for Friday, its on me. Send the bill over by PM Laugh

Again, thanks for the help and support poured in this thread, I really appreciate the camaraderie. Drinks are on me too if you guys ever come hit up some French delicacy, whether its wine, food or pussy.

This is some good stuff Dalaran. Good that you didn't come out the box swinging but you do intend to follow up soon to nip the issue in the bud before she gets the idea she can mouth off to you and you'll just let it slide.

I may be missing some info in this thread, but did you say this girl is potentially mother-of-your children material or are you just kicking it with her for fun for the time being?

RE: Think I just break up my LTR, over protecting the environment
No surprise Dalaran - chick is deeply converted, into you and you are her first.

She wasn't going to end it with you over disagreements over irrelevant issues.

And frankly it doesn't matter much what she thinks about environmental policies.

I have had so many massive emotional fits with all my girlfriends that this is nothing. The main difference between a girl who wants to end it with you is when she stops being interested in you. She can think you to be a chauvinist, racist or Trump supporter - that won't end her interest in you.

That said - all the issues you have with her are irrelevant. The only thing worth mentioning is even vaccines, but that only right before you are planning to have kids, so before that happens one of you has to change his or her opinion. Healthy organic food won't damage your future kids - it may just cost you more cash. But this is not important for now and thus irrelevant as well.

Either way - no surprise about the ending as I said. Most French chicks have way more different mental issues than her minor points.

RE: Think I just break up my LTR, over protecting the environment
Dalaran1991,

I am very impressed.

You are mature beyond your years -- I was surprised to learn that you are only 26! You show deep insights into female behaviour, have the ability to look beyond the short-term pleasures of notch-chasing hedonism, and are man enough to learn some great lessons such as the importance of not being overreactive in the face of a young woman's emotional outbursts. In this case you played it well by restraining yourself from making any contact and getting her to make the first move. This thread is also highly instructive to other guys who may be wondering (a) how to handle their woman's emotional ups and downs and (b) to what extent a difference in socio-political beliefs should be considered. As PapayaTapper said, well done.

A few thoughts follow in regards to your plan.

Having 'the talk'

(03-15-2017 12:44 PM)Dalaran1991 Wrote:  Friday eve, I’ll come over to meet her in front of her place with a simple “There’s something for us to discuss”

Yep - it's a wise move to:

- Resolve things face-to-face rather than via text or even over the phone,
- Be clear internally about what you will and will not accept, and let her know,
- Not drag out the discussion, and,
- Meet near her place, because if things go badly (unlikely in this case) you can eject whenever you want, and if things go well (much more likely) you can bang out.

My only concern relates to the part I bolded above. Have another read of Debeguiled's great post, and consider the following in particular:

(03-15-2017 10:52 AM)debeguiled Wrote:  The key is that she has to figure it out herself, so it seems like it is her idea, not yours, and that is soo clever, because no one likes to be given orders or ultimatums, women especially. Who doesn't hate a sentence that starts with: "You need to . . . "

What I have learned, after having many similar arguments or post-argument discussions, is that ultimatums are unlikely to work as intended. One of the central reasons is that all humans -- even young women who tend to be on the feminine and submissive side -- have an inherent need for self-determination. While this need for autonomy and self-direction varies greatly between individuals, over time and across situations, you will enjoy much greater relationships and gain more success in business if you recognise and calibrate to this need in others.

Although an ultimatum often does work in the moment, and results in a woman's submissive apology, it may not be the most effective way to gain compliance and could foster resentment or insecurity. No doubt, in some cases the woman must feel a tangible sense of dread if, for instance, her behaviour has been well out of line or if she is ego trippin. Beyond all else, a woman must RESPECT her man. Still, it may not be the best move when the woman has not done anything particularly "bad" in more objective terms (if you're overreacting) and/or if she feels like she hasn't done anything that wrong (if she doesn't feel guilt or shame).

In this case I don't think it's necessary. First, she is heavily invested in you already. Second, I think you could still be taking it all too seriously. Her embryonic environmental beliefs are not core to your relationship so I don't see this as a major clash of values nor a confirmation of her deep-seated attitudes... after all, she is ONLY 21 and has many years to grow. What's more, her emotional outburst reflects standard female behaviour, and she seems to be 'over it' anyhow. So, in summary: no need to make a mountain out of a molehill.

I predict that you are likely to get a better response if you simply state your thoughts on the matter in a brief, confident, calm manner -- but without the ultimatum of "do this or I leave" -- and then give her some space to reply. I am confident she will respond favourably.

A few other tips

Some of this may apply to this situation and/or could be used in the future:

* Do some relaxing meditation, socialise, or hit the gym beforehand, so you can minimise any emotional reactivity and be in a calm state of abundance and amusement when you meet (seems like you have this largely covered).
* It can help to validate her feelings first and take ownership or your actions (even if she is moreso 'in the wrong') before remarking on her errors in judgement and putting your foot down. This will help lower resistance.
* Avoid labeling her and instead speak to her behaviours / words. E.g., "what you said was disrespectful..." rather than "you were being disrespectful".
* Concisely offer an alternative, desired behaviour rather than simply stating her behaviour is bad (assuming what she did was specific enough).
* Finish up with a state-changer; once she does bend to your will, give her a genuine compliment then get her horny and bang out with an extra dose of domination.

In any case, these are just some things to consider - I reckon you have this in the bag. Cheers!

P.S. A quick note on virgins

The best relationship I had in my life was with a very special woman who was a virgin before being with me. No other bond I've experienced can compare and, speaking frankly, I deeply regret breaking up with her after 5 years together. I would think long and hard before walking away from such a connection.

RE: Think I just break up my LTR, over protecting the environment
I'm a little late to this but I was going to say soft next for 5-7 days because I agree with what Cr33pin said on the first page.

(03-15-2017 10:52 AM)debeguiled Wrote:  I think Neubache nailed it.

He will listen to his girl's problems, and be sympathetic, but he draws the line at when she makes him the object of all her frustrations that have nothing to do with him.

...
I also think this what a great post by debeguiled. Sometimes Blackdragon doesn't get much respect on this forum because he does open relationships but his relationship advice usually works for any relationship from fuck buddies to serious LTRs.

I'm glad this worked out for your Dalaran1991.

Fucking smart and intelligent strategy Dalaran !

Very smart to observe then act - she contacted you, she was happy, giddy, banged, so you enjoyed your time together.

This alone makes me think it was definitely just a moody/emotional trigger kind of thing, not her actual thinking.

Strategy is important when emotions run high and a fight happens.

Now that you know how she is, you have you action item list, and ready to go in loaded (not guns blazing).

This is you Friday:

This is you if shit hits the fan and she goes crazy and freaks out:

Don't go in guns hot - be calm, cool, collected.

I can understand why you see the appeal of LTR's it absolutely makes sense, just like some things about gaming women do for me.

Good luck !

I'm beginning to see past the notch chasing hedonism (for the moment perhaps Huh) within my relationship (also a virgin girl) so this thread is a great read if there is such a time that the relationship begins to go to sour. I'm sure Friday night will go in your favour. There is definitely a special bond that comes from a virgin girl towards her first guy.

Well handled Dal, I knew she would come crawling back - and yes that's what she did (food sex etc)

You are right not to start shit or demand an apology, and just enjoy that she has eaten humble pie.

Imagine yourself being a irrational woman, how fucking annoying would it be starting stupid childish shit all the time and not being able to stop yourself?

Given a cool off period (IF YOU HOLD FRAME LIKE YOU DID) she will realise what a cunt she has been and what a valuable man you are and come over with food and blowjob apology.

No need to mention this again like you plan, just forget it now, and await the next event. Handle it exactly the same way.

Well done man, great LTR game and frame.

RE: Think I just break up my LTR, over protecting the environment
Turning up with food and proceeding to submissive sex is the same as an apology. The words are mostly irrelevant at that point, but you're right to bring up your conflicting beliefs at a later time.

My two cents is this. With women, less is more. When you have a serious conversation with them they start to get so emotional that the longer it takes to get to the important part the less likely you are to be able to engage them on any long lasting intellectual matters. They just nod their head dumbly by that stage and then forget everything you said by the time a week goes by.

Keep it simple. The commander doesn't say "look, men, I need to explain to you why we need to take this next objective. See, when this land was first discovered by..."

No. He just says "men, your objective is to capture that village. Go."

My approach would be to get the issue over with quickly. You're out having a nice time with her. Somewhere open and public. You tell her:

"Look, about the other night. (*I love you, baby, but) I need to know that you're not staying with me because you think you can eventually change the way I live my life. I am what I am and this is how I'm going to stay. Can you commit to accepting that?"

*If you're on the 'l-word' stage.

Bam. From there you will get that commitment which can be referenced until the end of time, or she starts doing the whole "well... I just thought that..." and you know that the relationship is invariably doomed at some stage.

Make it simple. Make it quick. Make it impassive. Get a commitment for her to accept you the way you are, now and forever. Mark the date. Mark the place. If she causes you trouble then reference these things and tell her "you committed to accepting me the way I was..."
