I am middle eastern, and light skinned at that, but I grew up in and currently live in a predominantly Black and Latino part of a major Southern city, Houston.
I've put on a lot of weight over the past couple of years, and I've noticed that my success with Asian and White women has plummeted. Lucky for me I am attracted to all races, and Black and Latin women don't seem to mind nearly as much.
Specifically with regards to Black women I would appreciate any input that would help me get further as a non-Black male. I have much less trouble with Africans and West Indians, but when it comes to African-American women I am able to get a date or two but things generally break down quickly.
I feel like they are waiting for me to say one wrong thing so they can next me, and I feel a racial undertone to everything, but not in a fun way like with many foreign women (including foreign Black women).
As Black men, can you give me some advice (and excuse me for derailing the focus of the thread).
Hillcroft in the House, lol.
You'll need to tell us more about the dates you're having, and how the interactions go. The fact that you can get a date means that you're generating enough physical/sexual attraction - but something fails with your behavior during the interactions.

Lol @ Hillcroft. I was just there yesterday to pick up some food. Tried to get a hot Indian chicks number too but she told me she was in a rush about 4 times.
Most of my dates and numbers over the past year or so have been with Black women, so I guess I'll just hit what I think is the general nature of what happened for the sake of brevity.
African-American 30's with two kids. We meet at a place with hookah and a full bar. I was generally quiet for the majority of the night, which was brief at probably an hour or two, and I mainly listened. At one point she mentions Black men and how they "have a hustle mindset". She got into the whole trap culture, and I mentioned how it isn't exclusive to any race to be involved in crime. Also, she wasn't saying it in a negative way, it was more being proud of it. I've found that a lot of African-American women that I go out with buy into the hip-hop depiction of what is going on, and I truly believe it is just a show. I don't know if it is because this is a general trend or if it has to do with where I live in particular, which is on the lower end of the economic spectrum (some poor, but more bottom of the middle class). She mentioned something about the place we were at being a "shack", even though I spent over $40 on a few drinks and a hookah that night and it was on the better side of town. She came way over dressed (full on night time dress), and mentioned it when I went out to the parking lot to meet her. I don't recall touching her much if at all, and at the end of the night in the parking lot I asked for a hug, which she very quickly gave me and backed away and said, "X, what are you wearing?" I took it at the time to mean she was asking about my cologne, but in hind sight I think she meant my clothes were lacking. We texted back and forth after that and I couldn't get her to commit to see me again, and she started responding less frequently. She did however send me some pics of herself and one with her only wearing a g-string. A month later I finally got her out again on her side of town. She showed up and we got to talking. Apparently she had an ex that she was still fucking, so I tried to go with the angle of seeming like a better option. After that night, which was also brief, she never responded to me again.
African-American 30's. Met her at the gym, got her number, and we set up a date to drink wine. She showed up and did a lot of the talking, but I was a lot more involved in the conversation. No mention of race, which I've found is very rare when I go out with African-American women (much less the case with Africans though). We kissed at the venue, which she said needs to be on the show bar rescue (which I took to mean she didn't like). I walked her to her car and we did a little more kissing, then she drove me to my car. A day or two later she stopped responding to my texts.
African-American 21. She grew up in my school district. We went out for a hookah and drinks. Everything seemed to be going well and we both seemed to enjoy ourselves. I picked her up because her car had apparently gotten into an accident, and when I dropped her off I went for the kiss. She was really hesitant, but she did kiss me as if to say, "fine, I'll do it". She also mentioned, "white people don't have lips." The next time we met she asked me to help her with her homework. I felt like a chump, but said ok, but you have to get me a drink after. We met at a Starbucks and got the homework done, but when we went to a bar across the street things broke down. Prior to picking her up I mentioned that we should get a hotel (I don't have my own place and she didn't want me over at hers). She said something to the effect of "but I don't even want you" a couple of times. At the bar she said the waitress had an attitude and she acted like she wanted to argue with her. As we stepped out she said something like, "if you try to rape me I have my friend on speed dial." That really got on my nerves because I'm the furthest thing from a rapist, and I let her know I was offended. When we got to her place she said wanted to kiss me good night, but I wasn't feeling it. I knew it was over at this point mainly, and we ended up getting into an argument by text and saying our goodbyes.
There are more instances, but I'll leave it at that for now. Hopefully I focused on the right things that can help show where I fucked up.
