I mean, I guess I'm just not used to Tinder, but it seems incredibly basic and simple. You match and then you chat. Why swipe right on someone you don't find attractive and want to talk/meet with?

Here is the most important thing to keep in mind when dealing with Tinder girls:

There's a reason they're on Tinder.

A match is nothing, until she meets you in real life then just fire your messages and forget.

^ This

And like WIA said on another thread I just read, if your game is to get it done, act quickly. Literally 24-48 hour window max ... or it's over

Stalin, the swipe right all the time is because you don't have time and energy for all the idiots, and they aren't that hot anyway

Tinder is finished, monetized and without social proof, it's worse for both guys and girls, except for seriously dirty sluts

I think with the insanely high-traffic of tinder there may be some stick in just saying ridiculous shit. Not crazy sexual but I mean just absurd stuff that showed you take the shit 0% seriously. Thoughts?

I say you should definitely experiment with different tactics and see what works for you. I used to put a fair bit of thought into finding something in their pics or bio to catch their attention with but it's not worth spending much time. Now I take a quick look and fire off something funny or clever if I can, otherwise just say some version of "Hey what's up". If they are interested they reply.

I've been relying on tinder heavily due to working long hours (and having time to mess around with tinder while at work) so I thought I would share some tips.

But first a question, does anyone have a suggestion on android for a "fake gps" app that is still working? as in, you set your location to london and are getting london matches... If so can you post the specific name of the app? Tinder has changed things up, and the fake gps app I was using stopped working recently and I have tried a couple of others with no luck.. I'm sure iphone users would like to hear the name of an app that currently actually works as well...

First tip, set your age range 18-55. This seems counter intuitive but let me explain...

Swiping right all the time no longer is a good strategy.
The tinder algorithm has been discussed (almost all speculation) here and elsewhere so I won't get into it, but basically tinder gives you a "rating" that determines who & how many girls are shown your profile.

If you swipe selectively your desirability rating goes up in the eyes of tinder. So instead of setting age range 18-21 (Like I used to) and swiping right 75% of the time, set it 18-55 and swipe right 5% of the time. It pays to be initially SELECTIVE, and look at the other photos to check if she's a fatty instead of un-matching afterwards!

To speed things up I have been trying this: set range 30-54 and swipe left 50-100 times, then set it 18-19, and once you have swiped right on 5-10, repeat. Of course tweak these numbers to fit your preferences.

Next tip, use your super like(s) every day...for those young uns. I know it might seem try hard.....but, for example, if a 19yo has her range set 19-23, a super like is the only way she will ever see your profile. You can always just say it was an accident if you're worried about it. I've actually had pretty good luck with the matches that I've super liked.

Next tip, if you are on android, you can search for, download, install (and disable automatic updates) tinder version 4.3.4 apk (or earlier), which still shows the "last online" time of your matches. Then wait until your matches were online within about 15min and message them then. Preferred times 8pm-midnight. Then I try to get a little joking/teasing/flow going (could take 3-12 msgs) and then push hard for (whatever fun activity) and a meet up within 48hrs max if at all possible!

You could also run the older version on a tablet or 2nd phone on wifi. For apple, the same thing should be possible, but you will have to search to find what older version of tinder to download, and may have to unlock/jailbreak your iphone to be able to install the app.

Possibly the biggest thing is your number of matches, over 100 is good.

As has been mentioned, changing locations or deleting (then clear tinder app data) then signing in to tinder again will get you fresh matches, which makes sense as tinder wants to get new users hooked. But this should be used sparingly I think.

Also do fill out you occupation/school with something interesting but realistic, like about 100-200 (or as many as you can stand doing) musicians/interests on your "for tinder"/fake facebook that are the types of things your target audience is generally into. Switching around photos often has seemed to help me too (I only have 3-4 good ones up, and no instagram, but a good quality instagram is something that I plan to get set up)

Also another thing factoring into your tinder rating is the length of conversations, so again it is VERY important to screen her pics hard before swiping right, and if you do match try to get a few messages back and forth, even if you don't plan on meeting the girl.

*One thing I am not sure of, and would like some input on* is what to do with the matches that never respond at all after one or 2 openers... (of course I have lots of them, since I am mid-late 30's and going after mainly 18-22 age range). Should I unmatch them or leave them? I have been leaving them to up my "match count" but I don't know if this is the right move or not.

Anyways hope this helps some of y'all out.. loong time lurker 1st post !
Kid Twist 路 2016-09-09 10:18:00 路 #5531
interesting strategy

as someone who was just going after the age range you are, I pulled the plug, mostly because it's just entertainment for them and attention

If they had social proof, they'll come flocking. It depends on your city, but even the 20 year olds are few and far between re:looks

you gotta flip the script, it doesn't help women or men for women to have that much choice

they just spin their wheels in the paradox of choice rabbit hole, over and over again

I don't think this is true. I used to have Tinder Plus and used automation to swipe right 100% of the time.

I let Tinder Plus expire and now maybe swipe right 40% of the time. My match percentage is around the same.
dirty_old 路 2016-09-09 23:38:00 路 #5533
Corsega you are right, this is only ONE part of the equation. If you already have quite a few matches then that is the biggest thing factoring into your "tinder attractivness score" anyway.

My initial example was a fairly extreme example, possibly tinder would see it as being too picky... and swiping left as much as i suggested..might actually hurt your chances. Who knows, but it has been working for me.

i dont claim to know what the best ratio is, this is just based on what i have read online from many sources.

40% swipe right is still being relativley selective compared to the average guy, so sounds like you are doing things right.

This information is recent, within the last month or 2. In the past mass swiping did not hurt your rating. If you are a paying customer your profile is going to be displayed somewhat regardless.

And kid twist, you are right, it can be a real pain in the ass, a time sink, and demoralizing going for these extremley flakey younger girls. I try to screen hard (something like "why are you on tinder" - they will ask you the same thing)..and my 1 sentence profile is extreme and geared towards a certain niche, so my results may be different than yours.

There are always going to be some girls who ARE looking to fuck a guy asap, lets say 1/10 of my matches.. not usually the ones you might think...and it is really not that hard to figure out if she is attention whoring. Even plenty of the promising, normal girls (reallistically, most of them if you are significsntly older) will get scared or go silent when you push hard to meet.

Of course you can say there are better ways to quickly establish rapport with these young girls (social circle, walking around college campus). But the 30-50 year old guys who do have a social circle that overlaps with these young girls have (one way or another) put serious effort into setting up their lifestyle. And sadly i dont have free time during normal hours to walk around the local colleges.

My results at this point, lets say i spend 20min every other day shooting off messages. get 3-7 solid meet ups per month (another 5-7 flaked at some point) and fuck 2 of them. This is with a 15 year age gap and only girls who I find truly attractive. Is that worth it? thats up to you to decide. Because i can use tinder while i am working, and the meet ups are scheduled for late night on my free evenings, the hassle and the bs is worth it. For me. The only better return for your time that i can think of might be trolling (as in fishing) college campuses or seeking arrangement.

I think you have a point. I've been trying it out over the last day and a bit.

We're a bit more fortunate compared to all the reports here of Tinder being a cesspit of fatties and swamp trolls. I restarted my profile about 5 days ago to a pleasant surprise. In my city, Tinder is enjoying a resurge of hotties in the 7-9 range, 脿 la the good old days. Now to find out what exactly they swipe right to.

My matches reflect that range of attractiveness. I've had 6 matches since then. I'd say with the same level of selectivity, I'd be swiping right 1/3 of the time, compared to a 1/4 or 1/5th rate a few months ago.

I live in an inner-city suburb, which these types of attractive, careerist types tend to populate. I'm finding lots of them in their mid-20s to early 30s. Narrowing your search radius (~ 1-3 km) and age range would mean swiping right more often.

Expanding that won't mean that you're desperate as much as, like you said, increasing your odds in the algorithm by being more selective. I'd figured that not mass swiping would lead to precision matching some time ago, your idea refines that a fair bit.

So far though, I haven't seen any profit. Is it the sort of thing that takes a while to kick in?

Then again, Tinder plus is supposed to push you further up in visibility. I haven't noticed my enjoying that yet, and I'm also using my best photos to date. Maybe it's too much to ask to expect a ton of matches within your first week, let alone day?

I think I'm falling into my old habit of overgaming.

With these 3 matches, I've got a feeling that I could've number closed one or two messaged earlier. :/ They're all in their early 30s, so there wouldn't be too much of a need to play games with them. I've definitely number closed much more smoothly before in similar circumstances.

My openers for both Emilys were based off their pics/bios.

Cold approached a two set of white English teachers in Osaka Japan late night. Walk around bar area chatting with them. Asked what I do and as soon as I say it the cuter one is all like woah that's you from Tinder? I'm like huh? She says I remember your tinder profile. It seemed so pretentious I swiped left. I laugh like uh why? That's actually what I do. I eventually leave them bc they enter the shittiest club (PURE) but still got cuter ones line. Next weekend I text her to see if she's out. I had just deleted everything on my tinder and written only a few word description. After some banter it's apparent she's at home doing nothing. She says glad to see u changed ur tinder. I'm like lol still didn't get u to swipe right I guess (weird bc IRL she was very flirty telling me how I look like her favorite celebrity and even calling me by his name). I ask so are you really sitting at home on Saturday night swiping tinder?! She gets butt hurt and texts back what's it to you? I tell her "enjoy your life" and block her. Her friend had warned me she was "too much work" lol.

Your text game is really sharp. You've got the teasing, witty banter, smooth transitions. Nothing is awkward. A great closing line. If she doesn't like it, well....next!

Still coming back to learn this; Cali actually has some talent on Tinder compared to my hometown. Like absurdly different in quality - I swiped right maybe 5-10% of the time there.. here it's 40-50%, sometimes higher depending on the area, fairly easily.

Let's see my matches and how well they go...
RedPillUK 路 2016-09-13 11:57:00 路 #5539
@ JW, and Ill Italian word, I disagree.

Your text game is alright and has potential, but do you really think bullshitting around forever with these girls who think they're being funny by using this silly, 'random' type of humour and then chucking in an invite for a beer at the end will work?

A little humour is good, but this lame random humour sucks, especially as it's so common nowadays and she's using it too. It makes you seem supplicating and not that funny. It's probably funnier in person. I don't understand what's even going on with the bio conversation

I would cut down on all that and use more teasing questions/statements. In fact they shouldn't even be 'teasing', they're closer to serious qualifying questions to make sure a girl matches my standards with an element of teasing. That's the frame you want to set when chatting with a match.

Once you set this frame, and she's qualifying herself to you, you can ask about her work/schedule/freetime and what she likes to do or where she likes to go.

Then you can smoothly transition to 'let's go out for [that thing you like to do] on [that day you said you were free].

You have to have this goal in mind when talking to a girl online. Otherwise you will just 'overgame' or bullshit around forever and get nowhere.

For example the first girl. She mentioned getting to know you over a beer (!). You don't carry on your bullshitting when she says that, that's a golden opportunity to move the conversation towards setting up a date. Some ways you could respond are:

- asking what beer does she like
- tease her over liking beer rather than something more feminine,
- you could even neg her with 'you look like a beer drinker' if you've built up rapport and think you can get away with it.
- or ask her where is good to drink and talk about decent places to go.

After you talk about that, with a little humour and teasing thrown in, (that goal should be secondary to the main goal of steering the conversation towards a date), then you can smoothly ask her out and she is much more likely to respond yes.

Conclusion:

Humour is a good way to open and start the conversation but you shouldn't spend the whole conversation trying to be witty. It's supplicating, predictable and boring. She might humour you back but in her head she's getting bored. You're not there to be random tindersluts entertainment, you and her both know this.

Use humour and teasing as you smoothly move the conversation towards a date.

Hey guys.

Who knows ''Flamite''? Really a genius web in theory. Makes possible to use Tinder @ your Computer using a Chrome app. https://flamite.com/

Worked great to speak with some of my matches (damn, im like 2093240 times faster with my keyboard) but for a few days, it seems to not work anymore. I am constantly redirected to Facebook login page, asking me to login with Tinder ...

Does any one know what to do? Anyone know any similar app? (Not a Smartphone emulator please)

I've been on tinder a few weeks now and seem to get interest but have yet to convert anything.

I'm pretty picky about right swiping and get about 4-5 new matches a day, keeping a rolling number of about 30 on there by keep deleting the worst or non responders.

I presume my pics are OK because I just had a quick count and of the 36 current matches, 8 opened me first. (I leave it 2 days after matching before I msg them)

I'm not exactly pushing hard for it because I got 2 girls I'm fucking at the mo which seems enough for me, but I think it must be more than that.

Can only be my texting that's off.

Here is a recent one that seemed on but just went dead when I asked for her number.

22 yr old emo looking girl with nice figure.

Her: Hi (+3 sly face emojis) (13:33)
Me: What's that face mean (20:59)
Her: I like what I see (21:00)
Me: Sushi n chill? (22:11) (stolen from here)
Her: Hell yeah (22:12)
Me: I don't have Sushi tho (22:17)
Her: I'll bring it (22:18)
Me: Nah bring ice cream instead (22:22)
Her: OK (22:23)
Her: I don't do vanilla tho (wink emoji) (22:23)
Me: What's yr number (22:23)

Then silence for last 4 days.
I haven't attempted to restart and probably just delete.

Perhaps it was just beta bait and I was responding too quickly toward the end but it seemed on at the time.

Any thoughts?
dirty_old 路 2016-09-13 23:32:00 路 #5542
So i did a test with unmatching, and i really do believe it hurts your results. Normally i have been getting maybe 3-4 matches a day. Last week I unmatched about 30 matches (roughly 1/3) and after that it took about 4-5 days for me to start getting more than 0-1 matches a day.

I believe after the round of significant unmatching, my profile was shown less.

Im thinking about checking the box "feels like spam" or "offensive" instead of "no reason" and trying the test again, because theoretically tinder shouldnt want to penalize people for unmatching those types. Not sure if it will make a difference or not!

Point taken about humour backfiring and coming across as way too lame; given how every guy and his uncle on Tinder is trying too hard in playing the clown game.

I'll definitely try to work in more teasing and qualifying. How does it differ from my current text pattern? I thought it showed up a little bit. Should I have been working that into a context of a more 'normal' conversation, as you implied?

They did seem to be laying out the red carpet for me, all I had to do was not fuck up....which I did?

Anyway, I ended up number closing girl # 3 after a bit of text ping-pong, which I was ready to next her over. You'd think at her age, she'd be too old to be playing games.

In what way, GS?

Being good looking and putting up 5 interesting photos, plus a witty line and your height, doesn't seem to cut it for the purposes of mining a constant stream of attractive pussy.

Tinder seems to work in mysterious ways, or one can't help but wonder if there are factors you can manipulate that might otherwise work in your favour.

I think it might be the logician in me that wants to bypass hurdles that might stand in your way, and get the better of its algorithm, as to whether if might be working against you in any way (race, for example, a factor which I'm very loath to fall upon and consider).

Otherwise, a dude that's an 8 in looks can't be forgiven for wondering why his match rate is proceeding so sluggishgly, even accounting for selectiveness.

This compared to my windfall of matches within a day of setting my location to a different city when travelling.

"Point taken about humour backfiring and coming across as way too lame; given how every guy and his uncle on Tinder is trying too hard in playing the clown game."

Exactly. Everyone does it and personally I find the style of humour completely unfunny and unoriginal. Maybe it's more of an American thing. I called it 'gamey' to another poster before. People think that being like this is using game and now even girls are wise to it, they know you're not being genuine and you're gaming them.

"I'll definitely try to work in more teasing and qualifying. How does it differ from my current text pattern? I thought it showed up a little bit. Should I have been working that into a context of a more 'normal' conversation, as you implied?"

Yes put in more teasing/qualifying, you need to because the frame is all wrong. I saw you tried to right at the end, but it was as a reaction to her qualifying her and so came across completely unconvincing to her and me. You're just clowning from start to finish with this weird random humour and asking for a number.

The frame of the conversation is the wrong way round, she's trying to see if you're good enough for her, rather than the other way round. She even said "how can I screen you then", shes the one unapologetically and rudely screening you and you're putting up with it and trying to be good enough for her standards. This is terrible. You really should be the one saying things like that.

When she says "You don't even know anything about me", that's a clue that you haven't qualified or even learnt anything about the girl AT ALL and you need to stop joking around and start seriously screening/qualifying her.

Even if you don't have any standards other than be pretty, you have to at least pretend to.

As for the normal conversation thing you said: Not everything has to be witty, you can ask normal questions, it builds comfort/rapport and you need to know logistical stuff and her interests to be able to set up a date.

You have to set up the date or idea of a date BEFORE you get the number.

There's literally no point in going for her number, you're already talking to her and it's only likely to get you rejected.

What does it gain you? Another way of communicating with her.

What do you risk by asking for it? the girl might stop speaking to you or reject you.

So it's high risk for very little reward. Set up a date, and then ask for her number purely so you can call her if someone is late or whatever.

"They did seem to be laying out the red carpet for me, all I had to do was not fuck up....which I did?"

Yes.

"Anyway, I ended up number closing girl # 3 after a bit of text ping-pong, which I was ready to next her over. You'd think at her age, she'd be too old to be playing games."

She's not playing games, you are! She was the one who got bored of this texting nonsense and then the next morning decided to just give you her number rather than playing around like this! You got lucky with her number there in my opinion.

I've had Tinder Plus for about half a year now. My profile has one picture, I only list my school and my height.

Based on that I've gone on a few dates, but I was disappointed and decided my time would be better spent day and night gaming.

Of the responses I get most are uggos, fatties, or no response/spam. The ones that aren't in any of those categories are generally 5-6 range (with 5 in my book being just barely fuckable), potentially some 7s if I'm generous.

I'm working on getting back in shape first, but after I do that in the coming months I plan to get back in the swing of tinder mainly because I think it is good for practicing dating, which I have much less experience with than approaching (obviously).

All that being said, can you guys that are still using tinder post some numbers for us to see? By numbers I don't mean phone numbers, I mean like over X period of time I went out with Y number of girls from tinder and that resulted in Z number of lays (and also the 1-10 rating you would give to the girls).

I know this thread is about how to effectively use tinder, but I think it would be useful if we all got to see each others raw results from the app.

You guys have so long conversations, does it even work? Is it even worth it?

For me I always use the same opener, if she answers my second message is inviting her over to my place to try my homemade cocktails, I don't even ask for the number.

Most ghost after you say that, those who answer are obviously DTF. It's worked 12 times in the past 5 months since I started using only this strategy, but the time investment is minimal on my part (few minutes per week). No bullshit conversations, no dating, straight to business.

Also, I already said it in this thread before, but use tinder for a few days in the Philippines or similar countries (I signed up for tinder plus for a month and then canceled so I could set the location). After you accumulate a thousand matches or so, it improves your profile rating a lot. Before doing this I was getting "seems like there is nobody near you" after like 20 swipes, now I can do hundreds of swipes in the same city and never get that message.

I banged 11 girls from tinder this year, the quality was just so so. Most were 6s with a few 7s thrown in and the odd 5. Overall I track my dates and have had 51 from tinder overall in around 18 months.
