Needless to say, I never got the number close, much less a date/bang.

Now go ahead and kick my arse. Sad

(In my defence, this was a few months back)

No clear way for you to have got her number in the next four messages means that she's going to have to humour you in this boring game of getting to know you for four more messages - it's got nothing to do with your looks.

You started off qualifying her (great second message) but you can see you ceded control around message 5 - where she stopped responding. She was actually pretty interested but you gave her little to work with, for instance your last message doesn't really do anything to move the conversation along. That restart message you sent at the end comes across as bitter - bitter is death. Although you were already in a lot of trouble at that point. I think after you said the 10 years thing was your opportunity to reseize control of the conversation, before it descended into banal getting-to-know-you shit, which you both know is a facade.

I'm interested in short messages like "it's a really long story" and when to use them though. It's a good way of sneaking in a short message while having the conversation continue, thus allowing you to get more words out later, when you'll actually need them. I guess it's a good strategy to use when a girl is halfway through a thought, so she will continue messaging basically as long as you don't say nothing.

It's hard to find a good response to her 2nd message, given she offered nothing up.
Subtext: I'm about nothing - what are you about?
Heres 3 potential reframes:
"I don't believe you're about nothing. Tell me one of your favorite things to do in your spare time and I'll tell you one of mine."
"About nothing - are you a buddhist?" (dno how I feel about completely ignoring her question... thoughts?)
"I'm all about nothing. I think you'd make a great Elaine actually." (this is clumsy but I'm doing other stuff atm)

Edit : Lold at the second conversation Big Grin

If you mean the fifth overall message, there's a chance that she wasn't fibbing about her notifications; after her "we have XX in common" message, our next 6 messages flowed back and forth within the space of 30 minutes. But yeah, your last paragraph about reframing is helpful.

I get that you need to offer something to bite such that the burden of the conversation doesn't rest on her shoulders (without telling your life story), just like IRL game.

Doesn't that contrast with what you said below though?

Such as throwing a question back at her?

There have been a fair few comments on this thread lately saying how Tinder isn't "game". If this reflects my IRL game, it's definitely worth learning from. Sad

I hate stuffing up matches that had potential like this, after all.

Yeah, I hate it when conversations drag on and on... sooner or later you lose her interest and she ghosts, doesn't matter how well you were doing. Tinder is not a chatting app.

I feel like I don't want to invest the time and energy to go on a date with some chick who I haven't met and might flake or who might not have any chemistry with me. At least if I meet the girl in person I'll have some idea of where it is going to lead.

Does anyone have a good "script" on how to just screen for the DTF girls? I'm pretty good about getting the number and being able to set up a date, but I don't want to do that. I've been on a few tinder dates, but now I just want to find a way to get laid without the dating thing.

Last minute reschedule of the date straight at your place. "My friend just gave me this bottle of ...", or "still have sangria ingredients from yesterdays party at home" or "all the cool bars are closed today" or "you should try my new cocktail recipe".

If she's really DTF she'll thank you for not losing her time with a bar date.

^^ Bro that will not be a game changer. Tinder has realized that they have tapped into a market of desperate/lazy men who will pay whatever it is to feel they have the perceived chance of meeting a girl at the tips of their fingers. Boost is a game changer, so what do you call it when everyone has it? I've gotten rid of tinder for now, may use it again right before cuffing season starts, but the quality of women were 1-2 points lower than my usual target.

I won't come here and bash it because i've banged at least 15-20 women off tinder in the last 2 years so carry on, just try not to invest any money into it. My boy bangs at least one chick a month off tinder(we're full time grad students) and he has never paid for tinder plus or sent a super like.

The value of men's right-swipes is sinking like a lead balloon. Gimmicks like super likes and stack boosting won't change this.

Yeah I'm not saying she was, anythings possible, it's just best to apply the Brad Pitt rule for your own improvement.

A couple good rules about tinder
Treat every conversation as "why should I go out with you instead of any of these other girls" - subconsciously that is how they're operating - you have to flip that frame around. Realistically, that's what you want right? You're a cool dude, and you pick a partner who is a good match for you. You can see in these conversations you're letting them choose you, which means you're fucked unless you're really good looking.

Rule 2 is for the small talk make sure it would fit in in a party. For instance in conv. 1 at a party it would come across that you did not want to talk to this person.

Anyone who says tinder isn't game is probably not succeeding on Tinder, unless they're really attractive. Tinder is the epitome of game, stripped down to it's most basic element - words. Pure flirtation. Most people suck at it, including me. Sucks to stuff up ones with good potential but in reality you can only turn over 5% of matches into a date, is my guess. Once you get really good I'd be curious to see how high you can get your turnover rate, but that would take more practice than you'll ever be able to practically get.

Ok so I am a total newbie at this. It is the first time I am actually using this as I just got over over a month of not being able to use it. Now that I logged in and started swiping away, how will I know when I get matches with others? And how will I know at any time who are all the people that are interested? I have been unbale to even get this info from a google search as none explain this to me.

This app is so basic all I see are the plain profiles to swipe and a search settings page.

Do profiles get ghosted in search results like craigslist ads get ghosted in search results by blacklisted members? Sounds like a stupidity, but I have no idea what can happen as I already have my IP apparently blocked as I need a VPN to get on Tinder.
Someone said how when they encountered problems, perhaps by blacklist, they got no members show up when scanning for member. Well I am getting members but no matches. Could my profile be invisible? Or does that never happen with a user that has no issues with searching and swiping?

If I swipe like on a girl before she sees me and she clicks like later, will I see a notification?

I don't have Facebook (or any other s. network). Is it true that I cannot use Tinder then? Are there apps which don't require connecting to social networks?

Just make a burner/fake facebook to use tinder, nobody has to know you're on there.

I would say with 1000+ matches if you get 5 percent bang closing rate you're doing real well. At least 50 percent if not higher won't even respond to initial message

What facebook profile setup Tinder requires? Profile photo, cover photo, basic info?
Or Tinder just uses profile photo and then you fill in the info you want?

I am asking because if I make facebook account and use my real name and last name to open it, people I know would easily find me (small city) and expect me to interact with them, which I don't want as I am "fan" of real life conversations and such. Also they would ask me personally why I have facebook if I don't use it for them.

Or I got all wrong and you meant I should use fake name and just put my real profile photo?

The odds of meeting someone in real life, never mind anything else must be extremely low now.

As you say, most matches don't lead to the first message getting a reply. Even when a conversation ensues, it is highly likely that the woman will ghost.

The chances of a bang must be less than 1% now.

Both men and women complain that nothing happens after matching. Women match for validation, men match out of frustration then look at the secondary pictures of their matches then aborting when they see the woman's figure and the amount of kids in her profile.

Has anyone figured out the how to message and game with gifs? My best interactions when we had normal conversations or emojis talks but some girls only answer with or some conversation switch to gif talkgifs, in my experience this usually means that the conversation is dieing or the girl is just on there to waste time.

That's my experience too, by the time they start using gifs the conversation is dead, I don't bother replying anymore.

Some girls respond to your first message with a gif. Time wasters.

As you guys say tinder is full of time wasters, so the trick is to detect them early and not lose your time with them.

The trick to tinder is that it is an efficient way to get quick bangs delivered to your door, if you spend too much time on tinder you are doing it wrong.

That is true. I麓ve been using it again for the last days. A lot of Matches but none of them reply. It麓s gotten terrible. It used to be much better 2 years ago.

How do you want to create a fake facebook account with 50+ friends? Because you need at least 50 friends to make a Tinder account.

I tried making a few FB accounts, but after two accounts they either asked for phone verification (maximum of two accounts per number) or I simply got the message that my account was suspended because of security reasons. They probably log your ip address and phone numbers, so you won't be able to make multiple FB accounts.

I immediately unlinked the phone numbers from the FB accounts, but after one year I'm still not able to use the numbers again. American companies are fucking evil when it comes to your privacy.

It's pretty damn easy to figure out how to get 50 friends. Just think about it.
