Called her y'day, she sounded excited on phone, set up a date for today. Texted her with time and venue this afternoon. No reply. Called her around 5pm. No answer. WTF.
I've been noticing this more often, in fact I think it's becoming the primary type of "flake" that I get here in the US.
I don't get hit with an excuse or anything, I just get ghosted on the day of the date, or the girl fails to arrive.
Anyone else noticing this? If it keeps up this thread will become irrelevant, as there will be nothing to post.

RE: The I-Just-Got-Flaked-On Thread
Met a French girl at a party 2 weeks ago, approached her as she sat near me. Turns out she already knew of me through mutual friends, was very 'on.' I had other obligations that night so I didn't pursue. Went to her birthday party last weekend, had a good time, built a solid connection. Patiently ignored about 5 thirsty dudes throwing themselves at her, she kept coming back to me.
Bounced her to one of my favourite joints, a hidden lounge bar, made a connect there who invited us to an after-hours party at an art studio. She ate it up, but we left too late to do anything.
Made plans to cook dinner together, again she seemed 100% 'on.' Just sent me a message that she wants a raincheck, 'something came up.' No explanation, no proposed alternative date.
Next.

Your response to flakes has a lot to do with your personal intent and amount of desire.
These days when a girl flakes on me I just cut all contact. I also invest incredibly little in the lead up too which likely has a little to do with it.

Yes.
Girl cold messaged me a little over a week ago on OKC. I move her to text and we chat a bit. Ask her schedule and we agree to meet up Tue night. She asked me what I was doing and I texted her a pic of the city skyline view from a rooftop bar I was at. She texts back "Pretty!" I haven't heard from her since. Granted I did not text her the day of the date to "remind" her or set a place/time. I left the onus on her to ask and she didn't so whatever. 6/10 "dog mom." Don't care.
A couple months ago another girl cold messaged me on OKC. Cute artsy chick seemed real full of herself about her artwork. Snarky alternative type. We made plans one night to meet up at a bar. I text her telling her I'm going to be 15 min late - no response. Was going to leave it at that but I was feeling thirsty so I restart-text a week later. Tells me her phone broke lost contacts yadda yadda so we set up another date the following Wed. Datenight comes and I text her. No response had to send a "?" hours later and I get a "sorry phone was off!" (lol) ask her whats up says she tells me she's working on some painting and texts me a picture of it to show off/get validation (it's 8:00pm). I never responded. 7/10. Don't care.
Flew back East for the holidays to visit family/friends and as luck would have it, a real cute 19 year old FB I had before I moved hit me up a couple weeks prior to catch up and ask how I'd been. Told her I was coming her way in a couple weeks and will catch up in person. She is down. I fly out there and we text about plans. One night we are planning to hang and she bails saying the roads are too scary to drive on ( ). I text her a couple days later asking her what she was up to. No response. She just texted me again about a month ago "Hey GS, how is everything?" Ignore. 7.5/10. Don't care.
Females are putting less and less investment in shit, mainly because they don't need to.

Lasted just a little over an hour. Culminates in a couple makeout/light groping sessions. She suggest plans for the next day. Next day, no response, two texts sent. Looking back, it's likely she was just a tease. I bought the whole call it a night early because she had work the next day excuse. Probably because she did have an actual job unlike many I meet. But if she was really interested at that point getting up for work would have been the last thing on her mind. Next.
First suggestion: do not make out with a girl unless you are in a place you can bang her too.
Second suggestion: Read Tuths New First Date Recipe
Read the whole thing (and thank Tuth later) but here's a relevant excerpt:
Quote: Tuthmosis wrote Step 4. Absolutely do not kiss her. Do not, I repeat, go for the make-out at the venue.
This is the counter-intuitive part. There will be a logical time where it seems like you should, and could, go for the escalating make-out. Ideally, this will be around the time you've finished off a slow-paced first round of drinks. If you've played your logistics correctly, you will have settled your tab (by not opening one in the first place) on the first round, so you're free to leave the venue at any point.
But don't kiss her. You should imply (physically) that you might be starting to want to, but "haven't decided yet." This means giving the subtle physical cues--like the ever-so-slightly lingering eye contact above--not some sort of overt act. She'll likely be giving you some of her own cues that she's down, but don't do it. Of course, don't avoid it pussy-like, like you're scared to do it, but like you're steadily being won you over. Keep in mind that you're being gregarious and touchy the whole time, not awkward and uncomfortable. This is very subtle physical communication, but being in that state-of-mind will help to convey this emotion.
At around the 60 to 90-minute mark, I say something like, "hey, let's do round two somewhere else." You may get some, "I have to work (or class) the next day" resistance, that's why it's important to do it on the early side, since this early in evening, it's still too early to raise this concern. She can't argue with you.
This--if I haven't already done so--is where I suggest that we go to my place, so I can "make her that drink" or whatever bachelor-pad bait I've used that night. What's more, "I live pretty close from here anyway." She knows that I'm going to try something, because I've done everything in my power to subtly suggest it, but she can reasonably expect that that's going to be merely making out. A little private make-out session probably sounds good (and safe) to her, so she's more-than-likely going to be down.
This is where not spending your make-out token plays a big part. She has iron-clad plausible deniability that all you're looking for is a private place to make out with her, that's all. Because nothing's happened so far, she feels a lot less committed about going over to your place than if you'd already made out and the next thing on the escalation hierarchy has to be sexual.
Because you've been charming and cool, you don't seem like a chump who can't put it down either. She wants to make out with you and recognizes this is her chance.
Youre welcome
