I would be interested to know the cycle of this type. At the moment, my city of Vancouver is having its day. The wealthy from all over the world are buying property here and in the summer it has a "resort city" going on.

What does it take for that money to start fleeing? Its not just Muslims as one of the biggest real estate bulls here is Sheikh Hamdan of Dubai. I guess when there is money, people are civil. But when the poor Muslims and the Islamists start coming here it will be the beginning of the end.

What would keep things peaceful here? Right now this must be one of the safest, cleanest and most respectful cities in the world.

I just keep trying to look as far into the future as possible, for my benefit as well as my sons.

Been interested in this subject a long time. Funny because my sister, a nouveau rich, is moving to Vancouver this summer.

From a sociological standpoint I think the reasons for the rich leaving:

1. Assets/revenue related: the rich will always leave places where government crack down hard on income/assets, business regulation, workers protection

2. Standards of life: obviously if you are rich you are rich everywhere, but its better to spend a dollar in Thailand than in USA

3. Social integrity: the rich get bored with material needs, so their needs to be revered as treated as befit their status increases. Being a rich white man in SEA brings a lot more prestige than in France. Also, being in a warzone isnt exactly conducive to your health and wealth.

The muslim invasion threatens ALL the 3 points above which are already bad in France, so no wonder they are packing.

During that time they lived in in small tents with bunk beds, ate two poor meals a day, and were responsible for their own cleaning, maintenance and everything else. They didn't receive any money and were strictly forbidden to venture beyond the camp's fence. Causing trouble in the camp or protesting was of course out of the question.

After a year of good behaviour, their application was finally processed and they were transported to USA and given similar conditions plus some language classes and job tutoring. Today they have a great big family in Texas with several houses, cars and so on.

They've never seen a hotel or received pocket money during their refugee days. The mere idea would have been laughed out!

Out of curiosity I asked my refugee friends what their families went through when they came to Canada, and it was hard but fair.

They were from: Chile, Vietnam and Nicaragua. All escaping left wing death camps due to their high social standing before.

In Canada, they were given language lessons and a promise to keep their families together. They were not given priority to keep friends together. If they had family here, they would be the responsibility of relatives.

They were given loans, which were obviously paid back in full. Kept them committed to upward mobility.

All of these people are doing better than the average. After sleeping 5 to a room for months or years, they now have families, businesses and homes.

Their mentality is almost a mirror of this thread. They think its a slap in the face that Canada would be so stupid and insulting to treat them in such a way as to let in so many refugees and at such a ridiculous cost to them as taxpayers.

If anyone has been to Muslim bazaars knows, if you fail to negotiate a fair price and are taken advantage of, then you are a fool and will never have the respect of the merchants. This is no different.

We would not have risked death, me and my children, and thousands of others, to make the crossing.

I’m 39 and Kurdish, from the city of Hasakah. I knew from watching the news that Hasakah was under threat from the Islamic State. Every day last spring, the government would shell the city’s outskirts. Sometimes a stray shell would land near us.

One day, at 5 in the morning, we heard the shelling and we knew that the Islamic State had arrived. I took my children and two bags and fled. In those days, everyone had two bags ready at all times: one containing important documents and the other clothes and other essentials. We ran through a dry riverbed. It was still muddy and we sank in up to our ankles.

Even before the Islamic State came, life under the Kurdish forces was very hard. There was no wood to burn. Once I asked my husband, “If we took out one of the roof beams to put on the stove, and left one, do you think the roof would fall?” He laughed. “Yes,” he said. “It would fall, and we’d be living in the street on top of everything.”

If you have a son in Hasakah today he has to go to war. It doesn’t matter if he’s your only son or if he’s studying. If there’s no boy, a girl has to go. Someone from every house has to fight if you want to stay in the area. The Kurdish forces tried to conscript my daughter. I had to smuggle her out to Turkey.

Most of my family is in Germany, and so we decided to go there. We spent two months in a border area before fleeing to Turkey, where my husband was working. We found a smuggler through Facebook — a relative by marriage — and flew to Izmir. Two days later, we stood in the dark with 35 others somewhere on the Turkish coast.

We were the last people on the beach, my daughter, her husband, their baby and me. My daughter was sobbing. She said she didn’t want to go and that if she died, the guilt was around my neck. I didn’t know what to do. Then, like a dream, a young man came and lifted her and the baby into the boat. It was just me on the shore. I waded out to the boat. The smugglers lifted me from below, and my nephew pulled me up.

The day we arrived here in Idomeni people were still crossing the border into Macedonia. We thought we had arrived. We thought the hard part was the sea.

There is a saying in Arabic: “Even heaven, without people, is unbearable.”

I have three sisters and three brothers in Germany. The European Union wants to keep us divided between countries. If we sign up for the relocation program and the European Union assigns us a European country and we get that citizenship, will we be able to go to our family in Germany? I’m afraid they will change the laws and we won’t be able to go even then.

In our own country we refused to be separated. Are we going to agree here? Everyone in Idomeni just wants to go to their families; otherwise they would not have undertaken this dangerous journey to be reunited with them. In the next tent, there are two women who haven’t seen their husbands in two years. The men are in Germany and haven’t been able to bring their wives and children.

I want all the leaders in Europe to hear me: If any one of them agrees to be separated from his son, I agree to do the same. Or his brother, or his sister, or his cousin.

If they want to do this to us, let them give us back what we lost to come here, and send us back to Syria. If I wanted to live among strangers I would have applied to go to Canada. If you’re sick, who will help you? You need your brother, your sister, your mother, your father.

At some point enough people will die, and Europeans are inevitably going to just start massacring Muslims outright and pushing them out. It's going to happen. There will be a tipping point. This was the usual experience for most refugees in the past and realistic expectations of what most refugees had. They were HOPING and PRAYING that the country they applied to would accept them, they prepared for that application by bringing enough money with them to pay for their living expenses just to make themselves more attractive and not a burden on the country they were applying to. Then living in usually meager "container villages" and not complaining about it was to be expected. It wasn't a point of pride but it was definitely not perceived as some kind of slight or insult from the country they were staying at. People had humility that they were basically unwanted guests and simply by the grace of another country they could be given a chance to better their life.

This new entitlement attitude is just sickening and mindboggling, expecting handouts, a place to stay, food and spending money and then complaining about it.... fucking parasites

Not as bad as Birmingham, Bradford or London. Those places where you find the majority of migrants, especially those who identify as Muslims.

Look on the last election to see election results from previous years and you will see a pattern. Low class white, black and asian folk who include Muslims as a large demographic vote Labour for the benefits.

Even then the areas they inhabit are just that, areas. I could go to Chicago and point out white flight from ghetto areas which are almost 100% black. However you will not see them in picturesque middle class suburbia and this is exactly the same.
