I have experience with this from back in the 90s and with a Canadian chick. (I'm American) I just ignored her and set the mindset from the start I wasn't going to deal with it.

She came on strong and I just told her, I'm not going to be involved, keep it, its yours. Canada has free medical, she took care of it.

Don't worry about those who say later in life you will think about it. Sorry, call me whatever, but it doesn't come to mind.

I would put a shield up bigtime. A kid that young? Fuck that, and when you're shelling out cash for her, the accident, well into your 40s how can it not affect your style?

Its a kid, not a death sentence. The playboy life can and will go on if you want it to.

If possible keep a good relationship with the mother. If she was in your harem, she is obviously tolerable. This is good.

If she is intolerable, then perhaps going for 100% custody is an option. Get your family behind you on this one, make sure you have their support before as they will be the ones to most of the heavy lifting. El Mech has some solid advice on this, and part of it will likely be waiting until the kid is born before setting this plan in motion.

Kids are not expensive in Canada, and neither is child support. Daddy Gov has your back so child support will be about $450 a month unless you make large bank. Easy to pay that, but then having to deal with a kid between homes (or an absent father) is a shit way to bring a life into the world.

As good men one of our sole purposes in life is to give our offspring a better chance than the others around them. Handicapping our offspring is only adding to the decline.

You mentioned she wants to keep it- that could be the best indication of what kind of woman she is. Like many of our own fathers, you might have just knocked up an amazing future mother of your children.

I really don't think it's as burdensome as some people are making it out to be. And I've never met a man with a kid who said "it ruined my life", they're all happy about it. Including ones I know who got the kid in the exact same situation.

It ruined my life. Absolutely devastating. Mother was worthless, and I ended up having to take full custody for many years. I love my son, but let's not pretend this shit is easy (unless you have an amazing amount of family support floating around).

My state was 25%....but its based of gross, not after tax income, so it's more like 40% of your take home. And that's just what you have to give HER, you're not going to blow off his birthday or Christmass, if you want him to play football, you're buying the pads etc.. It's easily 50% of your income gone. This is HUGE.

It's also a severe crimp in starting a business/new career or taking any other risk. This isn't a student loan, you go to jail if you lose your job. It's like being dragged behind truck, not too bad if you can stay on your feet, but if you stumble, it's going to be a LONG rough ride. Just the worry will give you many sleepless nights.

In my state, mentally ill people get free lawyers to fight for custody against the sane parent. I think the intent was just to have the lawyers guarantee them visitation, but they're aggressive, top of the line family court litigators that work for HER and eventually I went bankrupt fighting them and she got full custody again. At least I got him through his most vulnerable years and now he can tell me if something really fucked up is happening.

Different people have different experiences...if you're some lazy disorganized fuck that wastes every day anyway, this can actually help you. But it you've already taken the red pill, and are already working your balls off to give yourself a better life, it's going to be a big hit.

And when someone asks me, I smile and tell them how good it was for me, but here I want to give you the straight dope.

To be fair, OP is in Canada, and I'm not familiar with the laws there. Having a kid in Canada could be a lot easier and less of a burden than it is in the US.

You're missing the big picture. It's not that the girl at the club on Friday cares about the kid, it's the fact that you're NOT AT THE CLUB on Friday (or Saturday) nights anymore because that's when you have the kid. And you're doing double shifts at your second job on many other other nights to pay your ex.

It's not that the kid disqualifies you, it's the fact that endless double shifts are killing your gym time and physique, you don't have the finances/time to pursue the stylish wardrobe you used to have, you just don't have the time the chase the way you used to.

It's not the kid that kills you, it's the fact that after you're going to look 10 years older after taking taking care of your responsibilities. That cute young girl looks at you and you suddenly look OLD.

You must not spend much time of Facebook, or maybe it's because we live in different states the culture is different...

I see single women getting "likes" all the time. Granted, not with the posts with their KIDS, but they do get attention from them, not from thirsty dudes, but from other women and their families.

Also, again, apples and oranges....OP doesn't want to have a family with this broad, hence why she's in ROTATION not his girlfriend.

Putting a temporary person into your life permanently is a recipe for disaster. Might as well take the spare out of your trunk and drive around with it forever. You'd have better results.

The OP is 22. All women should be in a rotation at this age, ideally until a man turns at least 30.

Also keep in mind he is in Canada (child support here is fuck all) and family courts seem more fair.

I do admit that I am far luckier than most here in that I meet and associate with better quality women. Within my family, and in my social life as well.

Sex, like driving is just something you need to do even if there are risks that go with it. Nobody goes into either expecting an unwanted outcome.
