RE: Why is MGTOW in the manosphere so ridiculed?
Highlander, to answer your questions in order...

1) I guess you don't have to get married to have kids. But in the USA it is probably better. You have a chance to keep your family together and a chance to be in your kid's lives everyday. Otherwise you still get stuck with the huge child support bill, and you rarely get to see them.

2) I am in my late 30's now. For me it isn't about age, it is about net worth. Once I get to a net worth of $5,000,000, then I will start to look for a wife. If I don't get there or I don't get there until I am too old, then so be it. That is the standard I set for myself. Thanks to the Global economic melt down and 8 years of a terrible economy, it is looking unlikely that I will ever make it.

3) Lots of theories on why the elite want to depopulate the earth. The main obvious reasons are that resources are finite yet human population continues to surge. Either we curb population growth or there will be an ugly war for survival due to limited resources. Add to this fact, the number of people needed to keep civilization running is shrinking at a record speed. Technology has replaced the need for manual labor. What used to take 10 strong men now takes one frumpy middle aged unhappy woman pushing a button.

4) The elites are the global leaders who are pushing for Globalism. They include wealthy people who want to impose their will (Zuckerberg, Soros, Buffet, Gates), political leaders (really puppets, such as Merkel, Obama, etc.), and the shadowy figures who own the federal reserve stocks.

A better acronym would be MOTO Men On Their Own.

Don't debate me.

RE: Why is MGTOW in the manosphere so ridiculed?
Some of the things I'm reading here are dismaying to me.

As an older guy, I see part of my responsibility (actually, most of my responsibility) as helping and supporting the younger guys here. It's what you're expected to do. It's what I would have wanted from a 47 year old guy when I was 27.

And I just don't think we're doing our younger brothers here any good by feeding them a variety of this doctrine:

"The world sucks"
"Women all suck, and you might as well just throw in the towel"
"I have no sex life, but that works for me"
"It's more important not to be burned than it is to take a chance on conquest"

I don't agree with this philosophy. I never have. Every single page I've written in my books recoils in horror from this sort of doctrine.

Why? Because it's a timid withdrawal from the responsibilities of life. It's a craven worldview, the mental frame of the defeated, the broken, and the resigned.

And I don't agree with that. I don't think the older guys should be communicating this to the younger guys. I find that wrong.

You can still "go your own way" and "do your own thing" and not give up on sex. Why does it have to be an "all or nothing" proposition? The MGTOW guys never can answer this question. They have no balance in their lives.

They are rationalizing their fears and failures as enlightenment.

Life is for the living. It's about getting bloodied, beaten, and hurt. But that's what makes it so vital, and so worth living.

When I read some of the posts here by the MGTOW apologists, they sound like walking dead. They think they've found security and peace, when it is only the security and peace of the cemetery. That's MGTOW.

Nay, even if you get screwed over by a women, even if you lose big, even if you get your head bashed in, you're still better off, and you're still more of a man, than the craven, timid soul who has given up on life.

Young guys need to be getting in the arena and having life experiences. They do not need to be told that the world is all shit and you should just sit in your room and play computer games.

RE: Why is MGTOW in the manosphere so ridiculed?
Of course you can go your own way and not give up sex. Do as you please.

For me, having sex is certainly not worth the risk. There are often times I think that maybe I should hook up with random 50 somethings, who still look decent. Knowing they would be far less likely to destroy my life. But the time and energy involved are not worth it. I would have to quit one of my jobs, which would costs me thousands and thousands of dollars every year to enjoy this kind of life. I would have to deal with all sorts of drama and BS. And I would have to stop doing some of the things I enjoy to spend time with them

For me the only real goal in life is not to have a job. It seems like every time my full time job because bearable or even enjoyable, along comes shit bomb project that makes it completely regrettable. Getting out of bed just sucks the life out of you because you have to go back into the stress and pressure and put up with all the drama. And there is no escaping that, especially not in this economy, other than having millions of dollars and getting the heck out.

If having sex is that important to you, by all means, take my share as well. It just isn't important to me. I've had plenty of sex, I have conquered plenty of women. I only have one desire in my life, and that is to be financially free. Having sex with a playboy bunny every night with no change in my current life and schedule would not even come close to the joy I would have by being able to retire from my job.

Life is about learning from mistakes. Mistakes you make and mistakes others have made. I have absolutely no desire to end up like 99% of the men I see in the USA, so I learn from the mistakes they made. Mistake #1 often times is they got involved with a woman, even a good woman, without first being a financially free man. And now they are just slaves for life.

^^^^

You sound like a broken, defeated, resigned man.

This is not a MGTOW forum. This is a forum for men who are interested in taking action to improve or rebuild their lives.

From reading your post, you sound like you're not at all thrilled with your job either. So you don't want to have sex, and you don't really like your job.

You sound like your'e in your 50s. It's wrong to be infecting these younger guys with your fatalistic, defeatist talk.

I can just feel the asexual negativity and defeatism emanating from your writing.

And if you were really so convinced that a life of workaholicism and asexual withdrawal was so great, you wouldn't be here at the Roosh V Forum trying to spread your defeatist MGTOW doctrine.

You need to lose all your money, and be put out on your ass.

Then you'll find out how much safety and security you have.

RE: Why is MGTOW in the manosphere so ridiculed?
I'm just a man who knows his realities. I am so lucky I still have a job in this economy, and as bad as my job is, I know many in my field who have it FAR worse than I do. You said you are 47, so you were nearly 40 when the economy fell off a cliff. I don't know if you still work a full time job or not. If you do, maybe you are lucky and don't have to deal with these things. If you don't work a full time job, then you don't fully appreciate how bad it has gotten.

There is no defeatist talk from me at all. I am a fighter. I get up and fight every day. My average work week is 85 hours a week between 3 jobs. I still get to the gym 4 times a week on top of this and I am in excellent health/shape. I get up every day looking to be wealthier, stronger and wiser.

I am at Roosh to learn from other great men, and I have learned so much here. Coming to Roosh is one of the greatest thing to ever happen to me. And my biggest goal in life is to spread the knowledge gained here far and wide.

I have already been at less than 0, I know what it is like, and I will continue to fight every day to not ever be back at that point. If getting laid is that big of a deal for you, then please by all means. But for many men it just isn't a big deal given the very disastrous realities waiting for us every day.

Much of what I have seen and heard in the MGTOW debate has nothing to do with personal responsibility in relation to how you treat women, to get a favorable response from them. Or what you yourself can do to better yourself to have less dramatic and more positive relationships with women. Most of it is "awe shucks I'm done." Its the same mentality that provokes a divorce rape.

How you treat women is very important. But the elites want to destroy families and their brainwashing of our society and divorce laws that reward women for walking about from perfectly fine husbands is very tough to combat if you are not already wealthy and free.

Well read up on the forum, because I am far from the first guy to talk about any of this and there is great detail here at Roosh about it.

The elites make more money when middle class families break apart. The elites make more money when women are out whoring around until 30 and men are chasing them. The elites make more money from the circus family courts.

The elites have made sure laws passed over the last 50 years target and destroy marriage for their financial gain.

Yeah, I could listen to Alex Jones all day too. How does this affect you personally? Do "The Elites" really affect your life? Come on now, be honest.

And yes, the elites greatly affect all of us every day. There wouldn't even be a Roosh forum, as most of us would be happily married with our wifes at home with our 3 kids had the elites not turned our entire society upside down to their benefit.

If I don't get there or I don't get there until I am too old, then so be it. That is the standard I set for myself. Thanks to the Global economic melt down and 8 years of a terrible economy, it is looking unlikely that I will ever make it.

It is my Time, I have always respected your thoughts and valued your opinions tremendously. I was one of the first to give you a rep point and it's a shame not many other members of the forum can appreciate your wisdom.

I agree with you there is a lot more to life than fucking sluts. When I was a young horny man sex was very important, yet nowadays I see having a children and loyal wife to be 1000% more valuable. My opinion is that anyone who cannot appreciate your mentality of building a legacy against the evil system set up by the elites (disproportionately Jewish), of SURVIVAL, are simply immature men who do not understand reality yet. But have no fear, they will understand reality whether they want to or not.

What gets me are your numbers. 5 mil in the bank before you can start a family? What? I cannot understand why 5 mil is any better than 1 mill or would make much of a difference.

At 1 million, you can easily get yourself a modest and secure middle class existence with probably a very chaste Christian wife out in the MidWest somewhere, or even in many coastal states. Get a house for no more than 300K, and start popping out those kids while working 20-30 hours per week. Wife stays at home, and you've got 700K in the bank plus whatever side income you can hustle. That is PLENTY. What are you waiting for?

You claim to want financial independence, but it appears you already have it. If you seriously have more than 1 million in the bank and you haven't started building a family yet, then there is something else going on with you because there is nothing else holding you back.

For God's sake, even with 1 million, just purchase 100K worth of Gold bullion and go bury it somewhere only you know, and should you get the divorce rape treatment you can dig up the treasure and go live out retirement somewhere else.

If you have 2 million in the bank, take 1 million and buy Gold, then go bury it. No matter what - divorce rape, hyperinflation, total war, a portion of your wealth will be somewhere whenever you need it. Then take the remainder and try something risky like starting a family.

Unless you can give me a good objection, I will suspect you are making excuses to avoid women and family when you really have no reason to do so.

RE: Why is MGTOW in the manosphere so ridiculed?
Oh no, I don't have $1,000,000. I certainly wish I did. Had we got Obama out of office in 2012, I might have close to $1,000,000, but I am probably 5 to 10 years away from that.

I said $5,000,000 due to these reasons...

#1) Assume the worst, I end up with 40% after divorce, lawyer costs, and future costs. That is $2,000,000, which is enough to still live a great life and not have to go back to work in an office again.

#2) If the worst doesn't happen, then with $5,000,000, I can live in a very nice gated community, have plenty of land and other resources, and send my kids to the best private schools. Keep myself and them above the coming disaster as best possible.

$1,000,000 isn't enough for me, and I am not there yet. And I have no desire to try to fight the elites and their system and work my life away to give my kids a worse life than I had either.

And thank you for the kind words, I greatly appreciate it. There are a lot of people doing a lot of easy living right now and that is going to come to an end pretty soon when looking at our debt bubble. And I want to be prepared and not be one of those that has the rug pulled out from under me.

Any projections on when you'll get to $5 million?

Hopefully you'll still be alive and fit enough to raise kids for at least 18 years after that ...

I'm with Quintus on this.

I'm trying to understand the logic in swearing off living life for the first 50-60 years in order to (hope to) achieve financial stability for the last 10-30 years. Does not compute.

And this "sex is not worth the risk" thing- frankly that's the most ridiculous and sad part.

"But the time and energy involved are not worth it".
What? it takes as little as a single evening. You don't have to quit your job to have sex (huh??), and there's no risk of financial ruin simply banging a girl. The things you are saying have little grounding in reality, it's just extreme paranoia, hamstering of the path you've taken.

This is not a life any man should be aspiring to, it will not be fulfilling for the vast majority.

Americans are dreamers too

Well, I work 3 jobs. One is a full time job, one is a weekend job, and one is my chance to try to make it big. If I never make it big, my other two jobs will never get me there. But I keep working both jobs to pay the bills and to build up equity for my chance.

If things work out and I make it, then I would say it will be about 10 years until I hit $5,000,000. But if my trajectory shows I am heading there anyway, then I will go ahead before hitting my goal, knowing it is coming. So then in 5 years or so.

If things don't work out and I never make it, then I will not want to have kids. I don't want to give my kids a shitty life in what will be a miserable place to raise kids. I even look at kids today, the boys have no direction or discipline and they end up soft and feminine. The girls are pushed to behave like boys and end up becoming angry man hating sluts that sleep with every alpha. I don't want to raise my kids to be like that, and it is very tough to prevent if you can't keep them above the fray.

If I don't make it, I will gladly not have kids and spend my time traveling and waking up every day saying to myself "thank God I don't have to go into the office today".

Does not compute.

That wouldn't make sense to me either. So that is why I didn't do that.

I had as much or more fun as anyone else from age 0 to 22. Lots of good times, great memories and women.

At 22, I entered the work force and realized how much working for a living really sucks. Since then, things have gotten drastically worse for the middle class. So for the last 16 years, it has been keeping my nose to the grind stone.

And looking back, I am so thankful I did just that. It was by far the best plan for me. I can't tell anyone else what will be best for them.

--EDIT--
You changed you quote, so I wanted to respond.

I work about 85 hours a week right now. I make sure to get to the gym. When you throw in getting enough sleep, it doesn't leave a lot of free time. I would have to quit my weekend job if I wanted to chase around women and have time to spend with them. Every minute is precious to me. I would rather work my weekend job, I enjoy it and the money I make from it is of great benefit.

I wouldn't tell anyone to live like me. But I personally wouldn't change it for anything and it has been well worth it.

RE: Why is MGTOW in the manosphere so ridiculed?
I think it is a shame, Quintus, to see a respected member of the forum being so smug and condescending to another respected member simply because you do not personally find value in his world view, and I would like to challenge you on a number of your points.

I don't want this to be overly personal, but from the information you make public on twitter, here and instagram, you appear to be an older man, over 40 I'd guess and still apparently unmarried and seemingly childless. As one of these impressionable young men who needs saving from the evils of viewpoints like IIMT's, I'm not honestly sure I'm buying what your selling either. The idea of being in my forties, still wearing a young man's clothes, still without a wife or child, seems terribly sad to me - particularly if it is not a consequence of noble aspirations such as IIMT's, that he should only have children at a point that he is able to fully honour that responsibility.

You seem to be advocating the totalitarian and condescending idea that those of us who are younger should not be exposed to opinions such as IIMT's, in case we should find some truth or satisfaction in them, when you do not resort to mocking gifs and playground taunts. Most of what you say in this thread seems to revolve around, 'I get laid more than you so I'm right and you're wrong', since other than his choices with women, IIMT doesn't appear to be doing anything other than what is recommended by 'the Red Pill'. Again, as I said earlier in this thread, I think part of the reason MGTOW is so ridiculed in the manosphere is because it forces uncomfortable self-reflection, and acceptance that the only real difference between the two is that one has more sex.

It also seems, as a casual reader, that perhaps your own attachment to 'neo-masculinity', and the creation of an ideology (with accompanying e-book, no doubt), leaves you so unable to accept that what is right for one man is not necessarily right for another. Just as many may not be convinced that there is any substantial merit in a codified neo-masculinity, I suspect that I would not be alone in finding your one size fits all, 'good life in 140 characters or less' philosophy for living all that satisfying either. With different academic, physical, and temperamental gifts, we are all likely to find meaning in a variety of ways. To dismiss a smart, patient, and reasonable man as hamstering because you don't agree with his personal choices, or because you see yourself as the self-appointed guardian of all us impressionable young men, is particularly unbecoming.

RE: Why is MGTOW in the manosphere so ridiculed?
I've been reading this thread but not posting because, since I am at a crossroads in my life, I still don't know what to do with the rest of my time - not only whether to marry and have kids, but also WHERE and whether to import to the US.

Although I disagree with some of IIMT's points, he seems like an intelligent guy who presents his argument in a coherent manner. He doesn't strike me as an irrational or fearful poster. While it is a responsible thing to do to get your finances in order before you have kids, setting a $5 mil threshold seems a bit extreme and setting up oneself for disappointment. There are plenty of other countries in the world where you can get the same quality of life for both yourself and your family with $500K plus side income as you would get in the US for $5 mil.

I know IIMT said he wants to stay in the US and that's his right. He also said that if other men wanted to leave the US, they can go ahead and do that - it's their life, not IIMT's. I think IIMT is getting unfairly attacked by some here, as it is clear that he thought through his decision and explained his thought process pretty clearly. Again, I disagree with some of his points, but I can at least respect his decision. I'm just making a different decision for myself.

But you're making a mistake in assumptions here. They only take 40% of what they know you have. If you have gold buried somewhere then no one is ever going to know about it or touch it. The buried gold you take care of before marriage. I'm serious. Take 10% of your savings and go bury it in a place you only know about. It is hands down the best plan in a lawless world, which is why pirates used to do it.

5 million for one man seems excessive to me. I know I could survive for an easy 10 years off 100K alone, just by managing money well and living frugally, while working 10 hours a week or so on a part time job so I don't need to eat into my savings.

I think you seem to believe that having nice things will insure you have peace and happiness, when in fact the richer you are once economic collapse comes the bigger the target sign will be on your forehead for the poor starving masses.

Moreoever, I had the good fortune of growing up in a rich household before my parents lost it, and I can honestly tell you the difference between a middle class and upper class happiness levels are negligible. If a man cannot be happy in the middle class, he cannot be happy in the upper class.

I agree with you, but I am pretty sure I will not be one of the guys with big piles of cash once WW3 starts. Not that I think it would be especially useful, anyways. Money only goes so far once the violence starts.

I am a reasonably young man, and therefore I figure the greatest asset I have is the ability to fight and command. That is why I focus on being as strong and intelligent as possible. If and when open warfare starts, I will pick a side I think represents Christian interests the best, and use my talents for slaughter. The capability for violence has always been the most valuable asset men have ever had. "The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must."

That said, we are both on the same wavelength and we take advantage of our talents as much as possible to prepare as much as possible. But I do think you overestimate the usefulness of money once conflict arrives. Money is huge, but usually in times of war the old rich are slaughtered and a new rich is created, or the old rich win and kill off any opposition. I know where I'll be.
