Ha ha went for a picture of some lamb chops and she texted me back at 11:00 pm with the same picture of the lamb but with writing she had added over it saying "eat chicken mofo" it must have taken her a little time to do. I agree with both these statments. However, by her response, she seems like she has low interest at this point. She would reciprocate more if she had higher interest, and that's where the teasing comes in.

There's different schools of thought on this one. Some say only text to set up dates - which is what you tried, it seems. However, like I was saying, her interest may be too low to set up a date. You went straight to the point, which there's a time and a place for (and maybe just your timing was bad on this one), but, considering all factors: she works with you, you may need to finesse this one a little more.... and, which I fully believe texting can be used as a great tool for, get her interest spiked - increase her buying temperature, then go for the date.

That's good. My text game is shit and needs serious work. I'm just extremely averse to investing anything into these types of exchanges because I am always assuming they are just looking for attention, and it's hard to read their vibes via text unless they are making it obvious that they want you.

When a girl initiates the 'what are you looking for' conversation (which is quite common in my experience) I tend to just deflect with some humor. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it backfires (she thinks you're a player/scares the cat). Depends on the girl. It appears some girls just want a more beta/straightforward response.

so i picked up a number on thursday night, sent a nice to meet you + hook text, got a shorter response, sent another hook from our interaction that night an hour later and got a "haha maybe" with a couple of emoticons. This is dead right? She did shorten her response times but the shorter responses themselves have my gut telling me this number is dead.

It depends on the situation. In my opinion there´s rarely a reason to send another, at least not in that interaction. You could always follow up a week or so after the first text if she doesn´t answer. But it really depends on what you texted her. Sometimes a girl can read a text, something else catches her attention, and she forgets to reply.

Personally, I've had trouble re-connecting with FB's. Usually, they seem to throw a wrench into trying to pick up where it was left off, like this girl is doing now. Lose/lose situation, IME, unless they're forthcoming right from the get go about jumping back in the saddle. I'm sure it's some kind of ASD hamster spinning, but I wouldn't put too much effort into it.
