Man that was a great read, I was picturing you on the bus with those two Katya's. I guess this was an example of big head over-ruling little head.

Having just returned from Italy I want to say: Damn, that sounds a lot more interesting than Cinque Terre. Your amazingly well written post shows me that I need to go East again as soon as possible. That´s real travelling, far more of an experience than the crowded tourist trails of Western and Southern Europe. Thank you for the reminder.

@The Ligurian, any chance of stopping by Vitebsk? I've heard from a Belarus girl i met my last trip that it has decent nightlife for a 2nd tier city and seems to have a small, yet beautiful walk-able downtown perfect for daygame.

I go my Visa last week, headed there Early Sept. Can't wait!!! PM me your buddies Cafe's name, and address etc. I will be there from a Tues. to a Mon. Only 7 days...sux, but that's all I can do. Looking into spending time at the following places: Coyote Bar, Overtime, Cafe Union, Dozari, Slivki Karaoke, Black Hall Bar, Next, Ice bar(Japanese place??) in City center, Beirkeller, Bar 13/Club Mixx, Dooha-da-king, Bar Duck, Fashion Club, Carla Marla and finally, Stirliz spy bar on other side of the river near Dynamo stadium. Yeah, I know its a lot of places, If you have any comments, I can narrow down this list(or additions) I'd like to hear where the iron is HOT right now.
