Watching chickens hunt down mice and lizards is a brutal thing to witness. Seeing them in action, you could really imagine what a Tyrannosaurus looked like in full swing.

Ever since the theory came out about dinos having feathers I've always envisioned T-Rex as a giant mounstrous chicken.
And I thought Jurassic park should be editted so as to when the beastie eats a humie it stands to scream "p-paaaaaawwwhk!"

Scientists have tinkered with gene expression in chicken embryos to grow more dinosaur-esque snouts (although they didn't allow the embryos to develop to term) and "mutant" chickens still occasionally grow teeth.

Arms plus claws instead of wings, and a tail, would be all that is missing at that point to yield a dinosaur-looking chicken.

Nowadays--since dinosaurs most closely-related to aves are believed to be feathered--you wouldn't even have to suppress feather-growth in favor of scales.

Paleontologist Jack Horner (who caused a brouhaha in the 90s with his "scavenging T. rex" hypothesis, and a brouhaha in the 10s by marrying a 19 year-old undergrad) had a TED talk about this, the "Chickenosaurus"--making a small dinosaur from a chicken.

Somewhat related, there was a paper that won an Ignoble Prize by demonstrating a chicken with a tail-like attachment on its behind walks like you might expect from a small bipedal dinosaur.

Indoor fishing returns to Toronto this weekend

This even has been going on for a few years now to teach otherwise poor kids where food comes from and to give them an experience of fishing that they would not have. These kids are tossing the fish back, I did not think of anything wrong of it, but I guess I am in the minority. I think it is a good program, it is a gimmick, but for kids that young with limited opportunities it is a big deal for them.

Just read the comments. They don't even seem real. Almost like a robot is writing them.
