On my facebook page, I have 5 bands I like, 5 movies I like, and 2 TV shows that I like. I also have the university that I went to (I’m out of college). My friends list isn’t visible to anyone. Also, wall posts and comments on my page aren’t visible to anyone. I don't have any photos other than my profile pic, and regardless, my photos aren't visible to anyone.

I kind of want to have a mysterious vibe going on, because I constantly hear that mysteriousness works in your favor (and I have nothing to DHV with). I also have no photos to DHV with since I’m really introverted and don’t really have a very active social life (that won’t change due to many reasons, so please don’t start telling me to get DHV photos; I have to work with what I have). Basically, I don’t have pics of me doing interesting things or me with other people.

What effect will this have when girls see my profile? What about people in general? Will they have negative assumptions? I wanted to leave out my interests because I don’t have any DHV interests (it would have been really simple, like stand-up comedy, horror movies, music, coffee), plus it would make me look more mysterious. I’m still concerned about DLVing, though. Would my profile as it is be a DLV? Or would it work pretty well because there’s almost nothing on it? What would you recommend that I do?

If you really need it just remove ALL information and lock down all privacy settings to max. That way people can still contact you, invite you to events or whatever but there will be nothing about your profile that spoils the mystery.

Facebook seems to be a social necessity of sorts. I had a friend delete his profile and nobody knew how to contact him.
He started getting calls and texts from friends and relatives passing him messages from people because they only communicated
through Facebook. Use it as a tool but don't let it be a substitute for real-world socializing.

At this point FB is so integrated into the way we keep in touch with people that it's almost impossible to delete it now without leaving a major hole in your social life. It's pretty much the only means I keep in touch with my friends in other countries and keeps us up to date in each others lives. We can wax nostalgic about the days before FB where we made phone calls to stay in touch, but the world has moved on it's not going back.

I think the OP's goals can be easily met with intelligent use of privacy filters. I have different lists of people with their own settings. List for family(who I don't want seeing all my shit), lists for people I know very well who can see my whole profile, lists for people I don't know well(they can only see some things), list for people who live outside America(so they don't have to see my political posts which isn't relevant to them) and then lists for people who just have me as a contact but they can't see anything other than my main profile photos. Just learn to use those filters. Recently FB has made it even better allowing you to change the visibility of virtually anything on your page and share it or not share it with whoever you want. So there's really no excuse to delete your page just to be "cool and mysterious."

Where do you live man? Cause where I'm from it's all about social circle game and you're either in the loop or out of it. Most new interactions with girls go like this: "Where are you from?" ..."Ohh do you know so and so?" Boom you're in the inner circle. Escalate and close.

The advantages of FB:

Events:
It you meet someone at an event that was listed on FB, it's easy easy easy to pick them out of the attendees and message them later. Pretty much in Silicon Valley, asking for someone's name at an event is now the same as asking for their phone number.

Tagging:
Photo-crazy people take dozens of pictures of me and tag them. I drop about half of them as not great photos, the rest I keep and let rotate through my page. And again, usually women I've met that night are also tagged in the same pictures, making it easy to connect with them afterwards.

The tagging isn't even a con anymore since there's now an option to have your tags approved first before they become live. And even after you approve it you can still hide it from your profile or only allow certain people/lists to see it. You can really hack the shit out of the privacy settings once you dig around and see how it works.

I agree with some of you saying it's a waste of time. Yeah, I admit I waste WAY too much time on FB. And if there's any good reason not to have one, it's because of the time wasting factor if you are on there too much. But privacy and remaining mysterious really isn't even an issue anymore.

So in terms of how pickup works nowadays, after you get the girl’s number and go on a few dates with her (or even one date), you will inevitably add her on facebook? Or you might add her right away? Or you don’t have to do that to be successful? Would they lose attraction to you if they saw that your profile had no photos aside from your profile pic and no DHVs on your page (like interests)?

I don’t go to social events, so I’ll probably be gaming random girls I meet when I’m alone. They won’t know me or anyone I know. Would I still need a facebook to be successful in this case?

Also, based on what I’ve read in Roosh’s books, it seems that you don’t need facebook at all to game girls if you don’t do social circle game (which I don’t). Is that accurate?

Honestly the only guys I know that aren't on Facebook are workaholics or totally not tech savvy.

As for DHV'n on Facebook ...you can post pics every time you travel somewhere for work or vacation. You can list your company and title there. It's like a social resume. Facebook is a staple of my social circle game.

I actually love when girls from around the world post on my wall. It breaks up the day to day bullshit that my regulars post. It's definitely DHV'n. Most people are typical 9-5 desk jockeys that hate their jobs and lives. They're all watching. Believe me.

Why can't you leave the mystery of how awesome you are over time for her to figure out? let her figure this out slooowly as she unwraps you?

First of all, don't bring up Facebook at all. If she does, tell the chick that even though you have Facebook you don't use it at all (you are a busy man and don't have time for such BS). If she tries to add you just ignore the request and tell her you haven't been on. Anyways, I never had issue with this, very few girls I banged (even regulars) I had friended on FB. I just use it as a way to keep in touch with friends, especially overseas. As a pick-up tool it's worthless at best, more likely to do harm than good (stupid drama, etc)

Another thing with FB - if you have a few girls in rotation, you def don't want them on FB to create some stupid jealousy drama, this was the main reason I was avoiding adding any girls on FB at all

The tool itself isn't stupid...it's about how you use it. A person that feels that get no value from it, or used it poorly and had a negative experience will say it's worthless. However, if used in a way that you feel helps you, it can definitely be valuable. I'll add this...I think people can be too quick to add random people they meet. For me to add someone to FB, we have to have an established relationship. I have family members that have sent me friend requests, and I denied them because I'm not particularly close to them. It also depends on how old you are and the age of your circle. I'm in my 40s, so my circle are in late 30s to 40s. We don't use it or engage in the foolishness that some in a younger demographic might. And I have lots of internationals I communicate with. It's all about how you use the tool. If you find it's too much trouble or drama, I'd recommend deleting. But think hard about how you can use it to achieve your goal.

I have gotten laid because of Facebook, however that is not my primary purpose for it. It is great to keep in touch with people you meet while traveling, and old friends you might not talk to on a regular basis. You could do the above via other methods, but Facebook works easiest for me and I enjoy it.

If you like being on Facebook, then stay on it. If not, not.

Once you start worrying about what people think of your profile, and putting that much energy into it, it's already becoming a negative in your life.
