I'll go with this. Juvenile as it may sound (particularly for a dude my age), Indy was an inspiration; now, as an ex-pilot with a PhD in theoretical physics, I'm glad I went with a pulp fiction ideal (though I could probably go with a few more doses of adventure). Hell, I could have wasted my life worshiping sports heroes like my "non-geek" friends, and then where would I be?

Sean Connery, no competition here. He always plays an alfa male, plus it is the olderly mentor type of alfa male that has always been attractive to me since it shows that it is possible to age well and that mans experience, wisdom and character accumulated trough lifetime is more important than youth and looks. This is the core of true man's identity what makes a him superior to a woman.

Plus he is alfa in real life too. He has publicly admitted that in certain situations it is ok to hit a women so he is definitely no pedestalizer or mangina.

It is quite telling that Sean Connery was the first James Bond from still rather patriarchal era.

Now if you would ask me who the biggest mangina of all the male actors is I would vote Daniel Craig, the latest and worst James Bond out there. I have yet to see a movie where he wouldn't pedestalise and white-knight and even his Bond doesn't sleep with many women and has a heavy one-itis. This is not actual James Bond anymore, just a dumb fighting brute.

He acts like a top dog and is in control of most every situation. With him 'less is more', he uses disapproving looks and body language to communicate much more than just running his mouth would.
