MMA is tough for me. I love it, but I can hardly watch it anymore.

I became a big fan early. My uncle gave me vhs tapes of the original no-holds barred, no weight classes UFC events when I was a kid, and I loved 'em. I also took boxing and krav maga classes through college, and I still train when I can.

I have a hard time watching now though. As much as I appreciate the tactics, the play of styles, and the raw athleticism, at the end of the day I can't handle the knockouts. I've had more than my fair share of concussions, in everything from football games to street fights, and a couple of them really fucked me up. I'm talking lasting headaches, vision problems, that sort of shit. And now that we're seeing these ex NFL and NHL players shooting themselves in the chest so that their brains can be studied for CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), I have a hard time putting it out of my mind when I watch.

I understand these guys sign on and love what they do, it's just a visceral reaction now.

I still watch the occasional fight (anything with Jon Jones), but mostly just the lighter weight classes, where the devastating head shots are less common.

I was looking at UFC veteran and leg lock genius Dean Lister's Facebook page and he has posted/is posting a lot of red pill shit.

It's more like the stuff that would come from someone who is seeing the glitches in the Matrix but hasn't put it all together yet. You can tell that he is seeing shit for how it is though.

Yep. Was actually entertaining. Both guys were going for it. Going into the fight I thought Werdum was going to dance around until Hunt got tired. Thought either Werdum would sub/decision Hunt or Hunt would get a first round knockout.

Didn't go down like that at all. Hunt took down Werdum and jumped in his guard, Werdum blocked Hunt's punches with his face.

Both guys' stock raised in my opinion. Hunt is always fun to watch due to the size difference between him and the 6'2 + guys he's always fighting, and the fact that he doesn't care about that size difference and just plows in.

Also this fight was great because it says a lot about the whole "New Breed" thing that Dana and Joe Rogan get orgasms over.

Pretty good fight, Hunt dropped Werdum withing the first 40 seconds or so with a shot behind the ear.... I kind of thought he should have jumped on him and tried finishing there, but he would have been jumping into Werdums guard. Which he ended up jumping into his guard any way and did ok. He landed some solid shots on Werdum, I think he dropped him about 3 times. Nothing as solid as that nasty knee Werdum landed perfectly on Hunts face....

One of the best fights in MMA I have ever seen. Diego Sanchez will always be one of my all time favorite fighters, he fought with heart and passion every fight. When he dropped Melendez in the third round with that uppercut everyone at the bar lost their minds and was screaming and cheering... Its just one of those moments that stuck with me and makes me a MMA fan.

The new breed are on the whole robotic, samey and fucking boring to watch.

This throwback fight reminded me of the exciting days of the UFC.

P.S. Rampage Jackson told me once whilst pissed out of his mind that (in his opinion based on knowledge) Chuck was a raging homo. Anyone else heard that?

I am serious. Chuck Liddel had a much better career then Rampage. Chuck Liddel will go down as one of the all time greats in the UFC hall of fame, Rampage will be remembered for playing the role of Mr. T in the A Team movie.

You should start caring about the UFC if you like MMA... thats all there is. Pride was awesome don't get me wrong, but its done. I doubt all true MMA fans dont care about the UFC.. its where the best fighters in the world fight. Period, I dont care what country or planet you are from.

I respect your opinion that Rampage was a better fighter then Chuck, thats fine everyone has their favorites for various reasons... but calling him a homo or asking if he was gay is offensive.
