Don't know about you guys, but there are certain cities that just rubbed me the wrong way when I had to deal with the etiquette of the locals. In your own observation, what are you top three when it comes to rude behavior?

1. Cairo
2. Rio
3. Boston

I work with a few Chileans, and their cool guys, but they're dicks and trolls. I find it funny because they dont bother me, but they go out of their way to just cause all kinds of havoc.

I found Paris and it's inhabitants very rude. It didn't give me a good impression of France. And I am a easy going non confrontational type of cat.

I will give it another shot with my improved French but if I get another flop, I'll write France off.

I like Rio, been living here for 7 years. I liked the city of Leningrad but not the people, too pushy. As for London, it was the snobbish way they treated this yank, Port Au Prince, I just didn't like it.

I've never been to France, but the French I have met traveling have been by far the coldest, rudest, and most "stand-offish" of all the people I have met traveling. I also have heard from my brother and countless other people that Paris is the worst as far as rude people go, (unless you speak perfect French and love French culture).

As far as my experience, I'd say Moroccans were pretty unfriendly, but it probably doesn't help I'm from the U.S., also more than being unfriendly Moroccans are major scammers, even Moroccan American and other Arab friends admit this.

Aside from that, I did feel that on average the people in Rio were pretty unfriendly overall, although there were a few exceptions. Surprisingly the people I met from Sao Paulo were all really chill, cool, laid back, friendly and nice. Overall, other than Rio, I thought the Brazilians were super chill overall.

Jamaicans tend to split 50-50, sounds crazy but about half the Jamaicans I chilled with were super shady, unfriendly, confrontational, etc., and the other 50% were some of the coolest, nicest, most genuine people I've ever met in my life.

I have traveled to Paris numerous times and I do not know what the hype is about. The French went out of their way to help me, one even spoke perfect English and walked 5 minutes with me to show directions. They do drive recklessly though.

Most rude city has been NYC.

Yeah, I've been in and around Rio for a while now, everybody I meet or am associated with are very friendly and will go out of their way for me. Maybe becaause I've been here so long.

Yes, I should edit my list, Sao Paolo was brutal too. Reminded me of New York in a way. I encountered too many brutes in Rio. They seem to have a knack for cock-blocking and a serious case of envy. You walk on the sidewalk, and not even the women give way to you , it was like a chest bumping festival when walking down the street. It wasn't like that in the south of Brazil though.

I keep reading all these different posts abour Rio and SP (and Brazil in general), how the people are rude, the girls don't like sex, no one is friendly, the nightlife isn't good, the cities are over-rated etc. This is parallel to my experiences of the country, I loved it more than any county I've ever been to despite not getting laid here as much as I did in other countries.

Well I wont go so far as to say the girls don't like sex. I find them to be very sensual and seem to enjoy sex as much as we do or even more. Night life is definitely good especially if you speak Portuguese. It's just the temperament of the city itself. Taxi drivers, shop owners, slow service, pushy people . You really have to pay attention when exchanging money, shopping. I was on a Delta flight going to Rio, and just boarding the flight in an orderly manner was an ordeal. The south, I have no problems with.

People in New york and Boston are not rude if you know how to talk to them. They don't like to be Patronized with b.s greetings. Instead of "Hello how are you?" You say " The fuck"

Yup. You really have to get used to the northeast attitude, then they're great people. We have a saying in Boston: "Most people say 'Have a nice day, but they really mean 'go fuck yourself.' In Boston we say 'go fuck yourself' and really mean 'have a nice day.'"

People keep it real in the northeast. I love it.

Then you haven't been on the Balkans. If you want to drive there, better learn how to cuss in the local language and hold the wheel with one hand because the other will be out the window half the time (with the middle finger extended, need I say).

The Balkan countries also have the rudest people from anywhere I've been. But that includes only Europe and the US, so I can't compare to Asia, Africa, or South America.

Typical day in New England:
Go to work.

Co worker: Tsss

This translates into good morning.

Then go to ethnic deli X or Dunkies for rolls and coffee and when you come back re-greet with:

Quitting time..Make the most beta co-worker go get booze and have a few mixers or beer while pointing out any shortcomings or physical flaws of co-workers to their faces.

Depature: Ask who ever you want to meet after work which gay bar they are going to be at later...
