I think you will find that the Chinese are shy and reserved, dont confuse that with rude.

While I would not call people in China "unfriendly" by any means, from the perspective of many other countries they can often come across as having poor manners. This can be due to...

- excessive pushing and shoving,
- taking pictures of strangers without permission,
- loudly slapping their bearbellies in public,
- picking their noses in public,
- pissing everywhere and anywhere in public,
- wretching spit and snot onto the ground, sometimes on the floors of public buildings or in cheap restaurants, as LOUDLY as they possibly can (this is a very commons sight and sound).

Of course, you'll find many in China who won't do any of these things, but those who do them are by no means few in number.

Lima, Peru was not impressive. Sure they have a smile on their face, but its not genuine. And the smile disappears if they aren't getting something out of you.
