What's a good line or approach to use on a smoking hot dime in the gym? There's this 1 girl in my gym that doesn't go often but when she does, the whole gym is talking about her (and I go to a huge gym). She definitely seems older than me, maybe high 20s early 30s, but probably the nicest body I have ever seen.

Throw me some ideas pimps!

Yeah, seriously. Even a "How's it going?" works fine, especially if you're both regulars.

I'd say gym game has a bit of social circle mixed in, because on one hand it's good to be friends with the regular guys who lift (it will put you in the social mood), yet on the other hand approaching girls is done cold.

If your friendly with the guys at the gym you'll have no problems approaching any women you come across, because you'll already be in that talkative mode.

The problem is that I'm usually too focused on my workout, and hitting on girls in-between sets isn't practical for me. Most girls stay in the treadmill section, and I'm in the weight section. Also, I tend to go late at night, and there are almost never any girls to approach.

I was tempted by the receptionist at mine and had her attention briefly but thought better of it because there aren't that many convenient gyms where I live.

I've got a buddy who's 40 and has banged so many girls out of his gym it isn't even funny (quality 20+, he doesn't give a damn). Go to her classes, she probably hits up zumba and bodypump or combat bullshit. Most guys don't go there because they don't have the balls. Talk to her about the workout after class, ask her out via Galnuc.

I haven't been to the gym in a minute. I take for granted the fact that with my genetics, when I go for a couple days, I get that "pump" that makes it look like I've been going for weeks. Of course, it only lasts for a day or two if I slack off again. lol. But not to digress too much...

I only gamed this one chick at a gym outside. And it was a long time ago. And she was married (even though I got the vibe she was checking me out from the corner of her eye, more than once). lol. But yea, it's one of those situations where you either do it or you don't. I give props to the guys that do it regardless. Just that for me, the girls there know guys are checking them out. And the guys know if one of them walks up to a girl, everyone's eyes will be on him to see the aftermath, pass or fail. I don't care, but I can't lie, my ego does a little bit. So as a result, I have never personally witnessed a guy bold enough to game a chick in the gym itself. Only because, if it's a place I frequent often, even though I'm trying to change my ways next year and be more aggressive approaching girls, that's the one location, other than the workplace, where, unless I'm in one of those "f**k it" moods, I would really have to be sure they're dropping hints before I even think to make a move in their direction.

You risk coming across as narcistic if you come across the wrong way. I would say convey a bit of personality, at the same time don't be afraid to demonstrate you have value, if you are buff. In terms of social proof it depends on the setting as many gyms are not really social settings at all, everyone is wired up to ipods. I would say convey value.

Going to the gym today reminded me of a funny story. One time, some hot young girl was doing squats at the smith machine. I walked over to two older guys, probably in their 50's, that were talking by the bench to see if they were done. Then they asked me, "did you see that girl before? Whew!" and I started laughing, because that's exactly what me and my other gym buddy (both in our 20's) would be talking about.

Just goes to show, guys get older, but they stay the same when it comes to what's hot.

Not sure about using gyms for pickup, I have flirted a bit, what I do find particularly motivating when I workout is being in a gym where there are hot women, it gets the juices flowing and helps my workout.

When I hit the gym it's all about me. In LA especially where I go it's full of hotass women, even some famous pornstars etc. I personally don't care and choose not to game them.

That being said I did go out with an Olympic ice skater who I met in my gym in college. I used the bullshit move of saying I needed to use the machine she was on (squat rack) and could I work in with her. She was down. Did some elderly chat and got the number after a few sets.

Well I don't really consider it cowardly at all. Now if you're in the gym for the very purpose to get your swell on, then there is no point in approaching women and throwing yourself out of your sets/reps scheme.
There's a time and place for everything, which is why I would only approach women in something like a dance class or yoga, it's just not in the same degree of importance to me.

Some girls are at the gym looking to hook up.

I know a cougar who joins a different gym just about every three months. At any one time she belongs to three or four of them. She's early 40's and in incredible shape, better than girls half her age, body is a 9, face is a 6 or 7. Unfortunately she acts really masculine and is very aggressive, a one-of-the-guys type. She can't keep any man locked down for more than a month or so and every time I see her she complains about men, where are all the good guys, blah blah blah, it's fascinating to watch her hamster in action.

She specifically said she goes to the gym to meet guys. There isn't an exercise machine she doesn't know how to use but she'll pretend to be a dumb blonde asking guys to show her how stuff works. Her preference is tall, ripped guys in their thirties because guys her age or older are in horrible shape and the ones that are in shape only date younger, hotter girls and use her for the pump and dump. She's at the point in her life now where panic is the norm.

Definitely, you can tell which girls are on the prowl. The chick I mentioned basically just throws herself at the guys she likes. When she gets turned down she goes into a tailspin and drowns her sorrows. She's got no self esteem and doesn't realize the cock carousel she's on is half the reason why. Each pump and dump makes her try that much harder, hamster in overdrive...

You're very kind but I think it is cowardly of me. I don't run into very many quality girls in most of the rest of my life. I tease and flirt but there's no pressure because I don't want most of them. There's a few at the gym that I would break in half given the chance. But I don't make the chance happen. I am at the gym to work out hard and people notice me there (I'm the older dude with the grey pony tail who lifts heavy shit like someone half his age) so if someone wanted to make trouble for me for hitting on them it would be pretty easy. There would be no mistake about who it was etc. Still, I'm an opportunist by nature and I'm not stirring that pot like I should. I'm still waking up from too many years of marriage and LTR.

Usually in my gym chicks use the ellipticals a lot. I don't do either, but if I see a cute one WITHOUT HEADPHONES and it works into my routine in general (I throw 5-10 minute spurts of cardio in occasionally to get myself energized), I'll ask her if the machine really helps, compared to treadmill, etc., and start elderly from there.

Unfortunately the gym I go to is full of 30s govt workers and army guys in their 40s who've been lifting since the gulf war. My routine was solid back in my old gym which was more open, but here I've literally had more success with the receptionists than I have with the patrons. And both has been virtually nil.

I need a new gym. I'd try the one at my community college but it's full of skinny wannabe bros.
