It would make sense to require a Dog Ownership 101 class to get permit to own an historically "Fighting" breed.

Pretty much this. Never had a problem out of the dozens of dobermans, AmStaffs, German Shepherd, or Rottweiler breeds I've trained over the years. Poodles and dalmatians, and herding breeds have been the most difficult to train. If you're trying to get bit, attempting to force something out of a dogs mouth is the best way to do it.

Especially when their shitty owner leaves it in a ratty apartment 23 hours a day, building up nervous energy that aches to come out when it finally gets to go for a walk.

Don’t get me started on girls kissing their dogs on the mouth. I’m not squeamish, I generally love dogs and don’t mind if they lick my hands/legs/even face occasionally if they get a sneaky one in but the mouth-to-mouth shit is revolting. I don’t want your dog’s sloppy seconds because I don’t know if his favorite foods include your used tampons, the neighbor’s cat’s shit, or last week’s leftovers out of the trashcan.

I think for a lot of women dogs are just another status symbol, an afterthought like a handbag or new pair of shoes. Something to include behind you in all your car selfies, to love you no matter how fucked up you are, how completely out of touch with your natural femininity you are to the point where you are infantilizing and personifying a four legged animal because you’ve ridden the carousel too long, absorbed the progressive propaganda and see the “childfree” life as the pinnacle of modern women’s achievement. Most of these women are projecting their own innate desires to mother children, to mother something, on these poor dogs. And like most single mothers, they do a shit job and raise dysfunctional, psychologically damaged and at times violent “children.”

Don't think they should be genocided altogether...but something has to be done to limit them and stop encouraging people to have them. Shelters are flooded with them and in desperation to get them adopted they try to mask them as "x-breed mix." They can be downright dangerous, and it's stupid to pretend otherwise, or worse, promote them ("don't bully my breed") with propaganda and fabricate a gentle "clean slate" narrative for them as if genetics and historic purpose has no influence.

Those dogs in the picture are a perfect example of mutts being labeled as pit bulls... which confuses people even more when they see breeds that look like these attack people.


Real pitbulls dont attack humans anymore than any other breed. I find them very affectionate. The problem is that these unstable mixed breeds are being labeled as pit bulls because people know the the real name of them. They just call them pit bulls.

No, it is absolutely not the same argument as against guns.

A dog is a living creature with an ability to act without external influence. A gun does not.

Pitbulls always bring out the people with issues. There's just no reason to want a pitbull except as a means of propping up your insecurity or sadism. It's also why people react so strongly when people critize their dogs. They take it as an attack on themselves. The pitbull, the unfairly villyfied literal underdog, who has a heart of gold, but just so "happens" to lash out in violent actions. Yeah, show me your dog and I'll tell you who you are.

About five years ago he wrote a hilariously true post on this subject. He compared the women "rescuing" these dogs to the women who date dangerous criminal bad boys with the intent of "saving" them. In both cases, he noted, they usually got the same disastrous results.

When I was on Facebook, I knew someone whose mother owned a pitbull that kept attacking her. One time it tore off part of the mom's lip. What did the mom do? She kept posting pictures on Facebook of her with a bandaged lip looking all sad and forlorn. And, of course, she got lots of sympathy from the Facebook idiot crowd.

Clearly, these women get off on violence and being victimized. If your cousin didn't have the pitbull, she'd probably be harboring a felon, so be lucky you only got bitten when you visited, not stabbed and robbed.

CH was right on the money with that. He didn't outright say that pit bulls should be genocided, and as I remember it he didn't say he outright hated them, but he indicated that pit pulls were a trashy breed and the type of person who had pit bulls were trash people.
