We are living in strange times; for a country that is supposedly so racist, colonialist, xenophobic, anti-Semitic, etc these minority/disadvantaged groups have to manufacture incidents to prove their points. One clear hoax comes to mind that signified the times we were headed towards: the Matthew Shepard gay-hate crime murder hoax. While the younger generation is not aware of it, what happened is this gay guy in wyoming (university student) who had a history of heavy drug use (meth), was at a dive bar and some guys cranked on meth decided they were gonna rob him and in the heat of the moment decided to nearly beat him to death in the winter cold and leave him. This was used by the gay community to push gay rights, including Shepard's family, the family travels around the US lecturing students (in high schools) about gay rights, and so on. When the true context of the situation was revealed--ie it was not a hatecrime-- no one bothered to correct the record. The Shepard case was coincidentally key to passage of hatecrime legislation, and was used by the gays as a sort of Stonewall 2.0.

While I try to refrain from posting articles from the MSM here is all you need to know about the shepard case, per the Guardian (a bleeding heart leftist british news outlet):

Zimmerman got out of his car, he approached Martin, and then next thing you know it, he's on the ground getting punched. How do we know this is true? Well, when the police talked to Zimmerman they saw cuts on him (lacerations) among other injuries. Zimmerman shot Martin fatally. What many left out was Martin was suspended from school at the time, and had a bit of a record. What I would like to point out about the incident and subsequent coverage: a)media edited a 911 call zimmerman made prior to getting beat up by Martin to make it sound like zimmerman was racist, finally they got called out on it when the whole call was released b)Media made every effort to describe Zimmerman as white even though he was a person of color, trying to paint a White on Black hatecrime, c) an effort to paint zimmerman as a blood thirsty killer and an effort to paint him in the least flattering light despite the fact that zimmerman was just trying to protect his community, while at the same time no examination of Martin and anything relevant to their confrontation.

As a black man I must say that the fact that I never believed it, and the streets never believed it show that times have changed. Atlanta Man, I’m curious about your perspective on Liam Neeson… recently he came out in an interview and said he nearly did a hate crime when he was younger; the context follows: he said that he had a close female friend of his who was raped by a black guy, and he subsequently had these really dark thoughts about getting revenge by killing the first black person he encountered on the streets, so he walked the streets for a week looking for an innocent black victim (I think of Ireland or N. Ireland—this was the 70’s or 80’s I assume)… In other words, a time where people were still thinking in really racial terms. He stated in this interview, which was done for a movie he did, about how he thought the need for revenge was a very bad thing--that's the whole onus for this controversy right now, that's going to have him loose all his film roles because of boycott efforts right now:

Growing up black can be bad sometimes. When i was growing up, in school i was usually one of a handful of non-white kids (think like 2 black kids, 1 latino, 5 asians and the rest white)

Having to deal with a racial motivated attack is not something i'd to go bragging to the news about.

Liam Neeson did not beat anyone-he had an emotional irrational response to justifiable anger-he did not act on his unreasonable urges and reflected on them. I have been highly pissed at a woman and began to resent women in general-I recognized this as unreasonable an modified my behavior and reflected on why it was stupid. You know when you're in jr high and high school in small town midwest America and your life consists mostly of school, sports, and girls girls girls and masturbating constantly.

I remember being in jr high and high school and this being a very real story, talked about with teachers and between students about why hate crime legislation was so important.
