How you ask?

Extreme Couponing

P&G is one of the biggest distributor of manufacturer coupons, stack coupons found online, in store, in junk mail in combination with sales (price matching), mail in rebates, store loyalty programs, a premium CC that provides 4% cb (higher if churning promo rates) at grocers/related stores and cashback apps.

I started doing this as a way to deal with a degenerate gambling problem, I often end up with way too much for a bachelor to have and end up giving extras to family members, donating to foodbanks/charities and selling extra to friends/coworkers for pennies on the dollar and even local small business corner stores (have friends with shady fencing contacts)

Not exactly "boycotting" but I'm costing them (P&G) money while making money for myself (average $500-1000/month)

Collecting coupons instead of playing blackjack sounds like when I go keto and keep telling everyone that carrots are so much sweeter than pie and cake once your palate adjusts.

Broadway musicals are excusable for a simple reason: most of massive core demographics of musicals are gay men! They are massively over-represented in terms of both audience as well as cast. They could survive completely without heterosexual men going there at all - women and gays would be enough - at best the men their women tag along.

I think this is now true of most aspects of our "culture". Movies, TV, music and Netflix are not intended for staight men over 40. I think we are pretty much beyond the reach of advertising now, so they don't give a shit if they insult us. No advertisement is going to affect my razor purchasing decisions, so they just don't care to advertise to white, employed, straight men over 40 now. And that's fine. China is laughing at us about stuff like this though.

They even have a word for it:

Quote: In China for instance, they have a word for these people. They are called “baizuo” or the “white left” on social media. Which is interesting, because even though China has its fair share of socialists and communists, they don’t have a direct equivalent to our liberal snowflakes. Most of the Chinese are still fiercely nationalistic and anti-immigrant, regardless of political affiliation. That country just doesn’t have a large population of politically correct, affluent liberals (presumably, they were all killed off during the Great Leap Forward). So what does this term mean to the average Chinese citizen?

It might not be an easy task to define the term, for as a social media buzzword and very often an instrument for ad hominem attack, it could mean different things for different people. A thread on “why well-educated elites in the west are seen as naïve “white left” in China” on Zhihu, a question-and-answer website said to have a high percentage of active users who are professionals and intellectuals, might serve as a starting point.

The question has received more than 400 answers from Zhihu users, which include some of the most representative perceptions of the ‘white left’. Although the emphasis varies, baizuo is used generally to describe those who “only care about topics such as immigration, minorities, LGBT and the environment” and “have no sense of real problems in the real world”; they are hypocritical humanitarians who advocate for peace and equality only to “satisfy their own feeling of moral superiority”; they are “obsessed with political correctness” to the extent that they “tolerate backwards Islamic values for the sake of multiculturalism”; they believe in the welfare state that “benefits only the idle and the free riders”; they are the “ignorant and arrogant westerners” who “pity the rest of the world and think they are saviours”.

Baizuo has basically become the go to word for Chinese social media users, who want to trash other people in online debates. It’s also frequently used to make light of what is viewed in China, as the inherent weakness of western democracies. So not only has the far-left made themselves into a joke, they’re making everyone else who supports Western civilization look bad all around the world.

Obviously contrived, but I guess if you want sentiment on this stuff to move in the right direction, room for backtracking has to be allowed, even if the true motivation is profit. The blond white family was kind of funny, but so would have been the token black family so what can you do I guess.

I should make a Gab account so I can see all the funny shit people write on Dissenter.

As Timcast said, they chose the white military family on purpose. There are a lot of people who feel it is their duty to serve in the military, be honourable people and who really just want to do the right thing. The previous Gillette commercial probably hit these people the most and sales from this demographic reflected their negative view on that commercial. This new commercial is Gillettes way of apologizing to this demographic without losing face.

I have access to proprietary data that monitors retail sales of various products across the US.

I was bored and pulled up Proctor & Gamble and then specifically the "Men's Shaving" category.

Turns out, once February hit P&G sales dropped about 500,000 units. It's pretty significant considering they were the number 1 shaving brand in the US.

So moral of the story: avoid SJW advertising messages.

That’s just it. The first short film they made wasn’t even a commercial. Basically it was just saying “fuck you straight men, you are a bunch of rapists, especially you white men”. They weren’t trying to sell anything, it was purely virtue signaling and trying to see how many of their core customers they could piss off.

This latest effort is more in the right direction.

Bottom line, the Mach 3 gives me a much better shave and is quick and easy to use. The shick stick is similar but I get a better shave from mach 3. The double edge razor I tried would take a long time to use, the Dorcas were just “meh”(those are the dollar shave club blades)

I guess I’m back to buying Gillette

I owe Gillette for making me decide to switch from disposables to a high quality traditional no brand safety razor.
Great decision. Now I don't feel like I'm carving my face up like a Halloween pumpkin each time I shave.

As for this new ad, looks like this is the best material their corporate marketing division brainstorm sessions could come up with.
Would be interesting to look back years from now and see how this debacle gets framed in some best selling business marketing handbook.

I saw this article by a Marketing consultant and that was before their latest reported sales drop:

https://medium.com/@georgi_georgiev/the-...9708cc6283

Quote:The Gillette Advertising Fiasco: Paying for Competitor’s Brands Popularity?

Turns out that you can easily research the spike in searches for the competitors of Gilette!

Quote:Harry’s (U.S. Brand)

Code:
Wilkinson Sword (U.K. brand)

Quote:The picture painted above is clear: Gillette has spent unknown millions of dollars to produce and spread a message which is actively hurting its brand while driving people who have never considered other brands searching for their competitors. The above evidence shows that, in a sense, Gillette is paying to increase their competitors’ brand popularity.

Hopefully this can serve as a lesson for marketers and executives on how not to court your customers. Other than marketing and PR textbooks, I believe this event should make it into the risk-management literature since there must have been something really wrong at company headquarters for them to take such a risky move: Gillette, being the market leader with 65% global share (source) in the grooming industry according to its own 2018 annual report has so much to lose and so little to gain by engaging in such a campaign.

Correct. When you are the market leader at 65% all you have to do is: "Don't fuck up. Stay the course." But someone at Gilette thought: " Fuck it! Let's shit on our core demographic! What can go wrong?"

Turns out that the market share can indeed drop to 60 or even 50% if you piss off your customers.

As far as I am concerned: No deal! Fuck them! I konw that many companies are owned by the globalists, but the least I can respect is some basic customer-business relationship of not shitting and pissing on me while saying: "What you gonna do? Buy another shaver?" They are now over-pandering while for some strange reason putting the guy into some unit with women. Next time they will show him in a tranny unit and shit on the guy again.

By - the way - the people did get personal at least with the brand manager.

I said it would be futile on the grounds that these corporations are all owned by the same people so they'll end up with your money one way or the other.

I now understand that it was futile because in a month they'd drop an apologetic advert, make a little note about how far they can subvert masculinity before the alarms are tripped, and then get on with degrading the West at an optimal rate. Meanwhile the aggrieved would take it as a grand victory and go back to sleep, safe in the knowledge that complaining on the internet will surely save the west.

So yeah, futile.

< There are still globalist-free alternatives left out there.

Plus - it's a difference whether the globalist shits in your face, adds shit in your burger and then tells you to fucking eat it - or whether he just creates his product and expects to have a market the other day.

Fact is that the boycott left a mark in the sales, it impacted certainly the careers of the woke managers and other companies are taking note. Even the current ad was a bit woke with women in the army and non-White superiors giving the poor White man a chance in the business world. Still - it's funny.

It's funny to me, because as Tim Pool put it - they overacted by making it all about a blond-All-American-White family. It's as if those SJWs don't do human very well. The reality is that a TV spot similar to the one in the 1990s with adjusted demographics would be fine. No one of note would mind if there were more strong masculine black or Latino men among them. It's natural to include the demographic in a given market.

Also funny how Gilatte disabled the like ratio and comment section utterly in fear of what the public would do with it. Certainly that spot would be swarmed by all the SJWs out there and by us saying: "Too little, too stupid, too late!"

I would personally do remakes of the classic Gilette Ad with different actors and situations - it's frankly so well done, that it writes itself. That way you stay out of the culture war, say that men are great and leave it at that. But no.... that would be racist or something for sure.

RE: Gillette releases new toxic masculinity commercial: "The Best Men Can Be"
It was never about selling razors anyway. On what planet would they release that advert if it were really about sales?

They don't give a shit about sales. The guys at the top of that heap are multi-billionaires and the guys above them are wealthy and powerful beyond the capacity for simple numbers to convey. Until people begin to grasp these facts they will forever be stuck on the reactionary hamster wheel.

P&G could release an advert that says "fuck all men, please die" for all they care. Money is the means to power. Understand what power they seek to wield and you will see that all the money they "lose" on cultural subversion is money well spent as far as they're concerned.

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

< The guys at the very top likely have similar shares in most razor companies - and if an upstart one comes up, then they will own that too.

But we can come back to that topic and see how the brand manager of Gilette is doing and how well rewarded he was for this move. The people at the supreme top don't care, but the people whose ancestors founded P&G, the major stock owners, as well as many managers at the top - they care.

Star Wars of Disney is one such example. Disney can own it all, but if people start hating the brand due to social justice, then they can write off billions and their little dicks of indoctrination that they slipped in with the Marvel cinematic universe - it's just got too big with a stupid dildo and moronic feminazi-SJW-women tanking the entire ship there. When billions have to be written off, then they suddenly care at least somewhat. People will lose their jobs, but ultimately yeah - it's all part and parcel of the propaganda war. Ultimately they want to go way beyond that, but at more incremental steps. Until you see real kids fucked in movies and beheaded - for real - then there is still some way to go for their propaganda departments.

The funny and sad part is that if the little people really were aware of how easily they could tank the globalist rule, then they would be amazed. We could bankrupt Gilette - if the men became all Red Pill and suddenly stopped buying Gilette - also forbidding it for their women, then that arm of P&G would go bust or be bought off by Wilkinson, have to change the brand name etc.

The same goes for the rulers - if we became all aware of the issues, simply stopped buying newspapers, listening to the mainstream and then every week marched with torches and pitchforks to the parliament, to the politicians' homes, to newspaper outlets - as well as the central banks and Masonic lodges - then they would get the message. If the people were aware of the issues and decided to demand interest free money, then they would have to budge. They would be happy that we did not just hung them up on the next street corner. Because the military and police in that situation would be on our side and they know it.

But that is simply too far away from the current state of consciousness - thus the West will crumble and fall. At best some woke managers will get fired for this crap.

And what is more important - as Oberrheiner put it - we put food on the table of small and medium local companies - while Gilette does not get a few millions of our cash.

Does not matter - they likely lost millions and damaged their long-term image while helping their competition.

Their market share may fall from 65% to 63% long-term. They will live, but someone will be out soon "looking for new exciting job opportunities".

Also - even if it's just 500.000 units less sold - that's likely more loss than the ad cost them.

Turns out, once February hit P&G sales dropped about 500,000 units.

But what was the original unit number?

I should have clarified that the number is "units" delivered to store warehouses. So there's a large number of products sitting out there.

Not to mention, the data is being influenced by post Christmas sales. However, the tool takes a look at YOY data. This shows us growth taking seasonal data into consideration. The numbers if I recall we're:

Dec 18: 810k
Jan 19: 620k
Feb 19: 115k

I don't have last year's numbers, but when I looked at 2016 and 2017, the brand had a steady 3-5% growth. When 2019s ad hit, the drop was way beyond normal.

I asked some of our statisticians about it. It's definitely not seasonal or economic l considering their competitors are all doing well.
