I was at a Bachelor party the other night. It was laid back, as it was a Thursday night and nothing crazy was planned.

It consisted of maybe 15 guys. Me and a few friends were noticeably younger and single. Maybe 10 of these guys were married.

It was sad, I really wanted to get out of there. I felt like I was in a room full of 13 year olds. The amount of time that people talked about titties was absolutely ridiculous. They had stories that were so ridiculous, about the single times in their lives they had one night stands (but how they were 250 lbs). We finally went to a pseudo-strip club, at the behest of the rambunctious teens) and some dudes were literally drooling at the mouth, eyes like Wiley coyote.

You could tell that this was a rare even for them to be able to do ANYTHING. The guys quickly tailed off before 11 PM, dropping like dead flies... time to see the wife. Only a few stayed, notably the two guys who seemed like might actually have some balls left in their bodies. One guy was adamant about getting home before his wife, and having to leave early, with a cheeky smile like "haha, I'm getting the best of her, she doesn't even know I'm here" when the joke is obviously on him (god forbid you go to a good friends bachelor party on a Thursday).

It reminded me of the video of the beast who made her groom to be wash her legs for her fat ass making the pier collapse.

It gets worse, and you will see more and more of thee characters pop up in your life. What you were seeing there is the sheer fucking hell the average western male drone is sold. College, career, wife, kids, mortgage, 2 weeks leave, retirement. Its the life path "winners" take, and I dont know if its the fake happiness or the lies they tell themselves trying to justify their miserable existence that irritate me more than anything else, but your patience for it starts to wear very thin as you get older. Many of them start to develop these sad personality defects as they try to cope with their life choices.

For the guys in their 30's, tell me how many of these "winners" you know:

- "Justifying life choices married guy" who got married when he was in his mid twenties after dating the same bitch for 5 years. Then spends the rest of his life acting like he was a player before he tied the knot and loves to shout his mouth off while his wife gradually gets fatter and clearly less interested in him as the years pass. Seems to always take great joy in the fact that you pitched up to an event single for a change instead of with another young hottie on your arm. You made his day better and he will let you know it as he makes a lame ass joke about it when given the opportunity.

- "Relationship faggot married guy" who falls off the face of the earth when he has a bitch in his life, then calls you up out of the blue when he has been dumped. Unreliable when involved, will take a bullet for you when single. Hands his balls over when he is married, but this type gets divorced so quickly its not funny. Out comes a hollow shell who looks 10 years older than he is and wants you to help him get back into the game. Asks you to even introduce him to chicks.

- "Lives through you married guy" who needs to know every single sordid detail of your life. When he finds out you are staying in on a Friday night to put your feet up and chill will ask you why you are not out on the town getting laid. Always asks you how many chicks you fucked when you were on holiday, and loves to tell you about all the women he would be fucking if he never got married

- "I have arrived married guy" who needs to constantly confirm to the world the social validation his marriage brought him. Likes to remind the betas that he has arrived now and they are playing catch up. Often marries a very average wife and acts as if she is the hottest thing on the planet. Makes out like he wears the pants, but everyone knows the wife rules him. No one calls him on his shit, but everyone thinks he is a tool. This is the one type who pisses me off no end and more than any other.

- "My life is now complete married guy" who implores you to settle down. Loves to tell everyone how wonderful his marriage is and is always the first to hand out marriage advice. This fucking specimen has so much oestrogen flowing through his veins that he starts to grow tits the minute the ring is on his finger.

- "I have only been with like two women married/engaged guy" who fucking hates any cynical views on women or hates that you disrespect them by cutting a swathe through ass like it was a corn harvest.

I feel sorry for a lot of the married chuds. While some are happy and marriage works for them, the vast majority married out of social pressure, social expectation or fear that they would not be able to land a better lay. They turn into these husks. They gain weight, they lose a lot of their motivation, they are afraid to take risks. They give up the things they enjoy gradually to keep the wife happy and many are nagged into complete and utter submission.

Once they have had their balls removed and their guts ripped out, then the women start to leave them. If you think they are sad when they are married, wait till you see the divorces starting to hit. That is a fucking dismal site if ever there was one. Its like lost children trying to find their way in the world again.

To be fair, there are a lot who are honest about the whole thing, so I am focussed on the toolbags here. If I had a dollar for every married guy who told me never to get married though....

Although I've seen them all, this is the only one I've seen first hand with a good friend. Right when he started dating her he basically fell off the face of the earth. He'd constantly lie and make up the most ridiculous excuses as why he couldn't hang out with friends, including not only weekends like Fri or Sat night, but other weekday nights (rather than at least being honest that he was a pussy).

They moved in with each other maybe 3 months after meeting. They're getting married in a few months and in the year and a half they've been together I've seen my friend alone, without her, maybe three times. Each time he'd be on his phone the ENTIRE TIME, I shit you not, and making phone calls.

Maybe 10 times I've seen him with her and he is literally a puppy dog/zombie. His personality is gone. He's afraid to do anything. They were out recently at a party and word of mouth is she slapped him across the face for "acting drunk"!!

Last but not least, this girl has zero personality, and is a 5 at best. Her only attribute is not fat.

It's his life but it makes me sick sometimes. He was a cool dude and could have done so much better. I just don't get it. I NEED some time to myself and I NEED times with my friends. They have morphed into a personality-less blob of androgynous bullshit, or more exactly, she sucked all the life out of him.

i am fine with a married guy that still has some individuality about him, is about raising his kids in a solid family, persues his own interests and is the man in the marriage. The problem is to many men let the women run the show, and bought into the fairy tale that once i am married my life will be great/complete.... I just dont see how being with anyone for 30-40 years sounds interesting, we are just not monagamous creatures??? To many men are worried about being alone and scared to pursue new adventures, bang younger hotter women, and end up just settling for the first relationship they have.

Ha Great post Harry. My facebook is full of just about every one of these types. Some of my good friends tend to do their own thing a night or two a week. I guess that is about as good as it gets when you're married.

I get to see pictures of how happy they are and their anniversaries. I just had one guy say thank you to his wife for picking him. It just seems like people are working hard trying to impress others that they are happy.

I agree, there is nothing wrong with being married. Some people find the right person and want kids, nothing wrong with it. I know people in my family who are great fathers, but still are their own person and let loose.. don't lose themselves in some fat overbearing crap of a woman.

I was looking at a piece on long celebrity marriages. Most quotes were pretty good and practical, then came a quote from Dustin Hoffmann.. you must be kidding me. I hope he said this in jest (but I don't think he did):

“I feel cheated never being able to know what it's like to get pregnant, carry a child and breast feed. “

No matter how much we may dread becoming like our fallen brothers, I must say I am glad that these guys just roll over and stay out of the game. It ultimately means more pussy for us.

I do miss some of the friendships I've had with some of my old college friends, but their girlfriends are such insufferable bitches that I cannot tolerate them. So then it becomes "We can only hang out when I'm not around my girlfriend," or "When I'm not busy with work," which translates into very little time spent hanging out. I tend to value male companionship much more than female, so this is a loss to me.

Aristotle said that slavery is just if the man who is enslaved "has a slavish sort of personality." Therefore the men who fall into the types of relationships Hooligan Harry described would be just as fucked up even if single.

But as best I understand it, humankind as a species benefits from men who settle down and become fathers. Giving a stable upbringing to children is worth the loss of a lesser man.

There is great truth to what you state, but how healthy is it for kids to see their dad beaten down? What does that teach them, and in turn, what kind of men do they become as a result?

Most of my married friends don't sugarcoat how unhappy they are, but there's a certain resignation in them regarding their fates. One of my boys was the "timetable" guy - he felt that by age 30 he should be set career-wise, should have a car, and be ready to start a family. He had one near miss - he was engaged, put money down on the wedding etc. Nine months before the wedding, they moved in together to safe money. He was miserable. In that whole time, there was never a minute when he was alone in the apartment. She was a school teacher, so he left for work first, and she got home before him. Her idea of going out was dinner with her parents. If they ordered Chinese food, it cost him a fortune because she wanted a several course meal. When he was alone, he ordered a couple of things. He was footing most of the bills because of her meager income. She tried to isolate him from his friends, and made him get rid of his Playboys because she felt they were disrespectful to women (she attended some all-women's liberal arts college I think). When she found a straggler under something, she flipped out about how hurt she was. To his credit, he pulled the plug and ended it, even though he couldn't get his money back on some things he paid down on. She snuck back into the apartment one day and stole back the engagement ring! He did get it back, but WHEW...crazy, needy, insecure bitch.

The chick he married was only marginally better. Though he didn't rush, early in the relationship he was telling us that she was "the one." At that time, we had use of a friend's dad's Jets season tickets. It was supposed to be OUR thing. He brought her along because she was a Jet fan. For games she didn't come to, she would try to make him late for the game, insisting there was something they "had to talk about" when she knew he was running late to meet us. One day he had to physically toss her aside to get out of the apartment, and he's not THAT kind of guy to get physical with a woman. Even after getting engaged and moving in together, she still wasn't secure. If he went out with his boys, she would call him to complain that he didn't call HER to say he missed her! The point of going out with your boys is that for a while he wouldn't have to think about you bitch! But he married her. Since they were both mid-30s at this point, they had two kids immediately. He loves his kids, but there's no other benefit to being married to her. She's unhappy, but doesn't know why. She doesn't want to work anymore, yet doesn't like taking care of her own kids (they drive her crazy, but they aren't bad kids. They're simply KIDS, and they require patience and attention). She talks of wanting to start her own business, yet doesn't know what she wants to do. And since she can't work well with others, if it isn't something she can do solely on her own, forget it. Naturally, she doesn't fuck her husband anymore either. She's incapable of making decisions, but accuses him of being controlling when he does. The only good thing about her is she's maintained her figure after having kids, but since she won't fuck him, he can't enjoy that either. They had trouble finding a house, so his mom (a real estate agent) sold him the house he grew up in. The fucked up thing is if he tried to divorce her, he'd probably get thrown out of the very house he grew up in.

There is great truth to what you state, but how healthy is it for kids to see their dad beaten down? What does that teach them, and in turn, what kind of men do they become as a result?

Depends on who gets custody of the children.

- If mother gets custody:

Boys either become huge losers who occasionally score some poon or very responsible white knight betas.

Girls become slutty, but either of the single mom type or the career warrior type. No in-between.

- If the father gets custody:

Boys become responsible and law-abiding. There's a small chance they will become alpha, depending on the alphaness of their father.

Girls become submissive and caring. They either become terrific housewives or the crazy party girl that gets taken care of by lots of different men in her life.


The other factors we aren't considering here is how many siblings each child has (that can make a huge impact).

I used to know different versions of these guys.

Now, I only know a bunch of guys who fall into the "dead eyes, no-hope, miserable, desperate, and trapped" category. Its funny how that works.

Even the few married alphas that I know can't hold the marriage together for various reasons, mostly having to do with her issues (entitlement, laziness, etc.). If a guys own beta-ness doesn't kill either his soul or his marriage, then her cultural programming seems to finish off the job.

I've always said that 95% of society lives the traditional way so that the other 5% (men like most guys on this forum) can live the other way.

If the majority of men tried to live and operate the way most of us do, society would descend into chaos. So these beaten down betas have their place in the long run of it all.

The current marriage market is not normal. Modern women are not women anymore. Western society is already in chaos and its in decay. Its rotten to its core, and I believe the root cause of this is the suffrage movement.

Men throughout history have died like flies. Dangerous work, wars, disease, fights, risk taking. So throughout history there have always been more women then there are men. Competition for men is a game changer, and my time in Russia during the 90's showed me this. I saw 20 year old dime pieces crying and fighting over 45 year old balding, out of shape engineering geeks. Do you think he cares about holding onto a piece of ass, like his life depended on it, given the sheer quantity of women that could replace her?

There is no shortage of men now and that means that women are spoiled for choice. It also means that men have to work harder for what slim pickings there are. Men end up walking on egg shells in fear that the piece of ass they have will be the last they ever get their hands on and they buckle to keep their shrews happy.

The problem is that social conditioning is forcing men into very unhappy lives where they end up essentially becoming emotional and financial slaves to unattractive harpies. And the law is so one sided any escape from that could cripple them financially, not to mention emotionally when they lose their kids. This is not a natural state for men anymore now that gender roles are seen as the evil thing they are these days.

If the argument is that we need more men to die in order to gain the upper hand over women, I'd say gaining the upper hand over women isn't worth it.

Like that's going to happen. From personal observation, men are more adamant women's rights than women are in modern society.

Great Post Harry... this forum really has turned me off marriage...

I sadly see most of friends falling into one of this types, a by-product of post-Catholic Ireland.
Everyone gets married here, older bachelors are considered alien, like someone who doesn't drink.
It's hard to break past social conditioning.
