We don't have enough Feminine Imperative, do we?
So let's get it into the car department.

Considered a male domain (to some extent), with multiple jokes on female drivers, why not show that females are "superior" to males?

coming from UK, the CARBUYER website has a new research:

So the website conducted a "research". No stats given, whatsoever!


What are the "finding"?
1. Men are idiots:

2. Women are great buyers:

Yeh, Right!
If we are throwing away stats, I will point out that none of the female I have seen ,over a lifetime, purchasing a car, had no knowledge with regards to fuel economy (or know how to look for it) or service cost ("Doesn't the man take it to the garage?").

3. Women have great priorities:

Legroom?
Females are shorter than males on average. They have "legroom" issues?

In summary:
No stats, male bashing and females still have a "long way to go".
Females are better than men, but need more confidence.

Typical bullshit.

Beta male author takes their own gay priorities and turns them into the holy grail for car ownership, declares alternative values to be irrelevant.

God forbid I wanted a car to:

Pick up mates without having to slide seats forward.
Not look like a faggot in.
Be a colour that ages well and reflects/absorbs heat depending on local climate.
Be reliable rather than being cheap to fill-up/service and breaks down twice a month.
Have a long wheel base so I enjoy the 300kms preceding the 10 seconds it takes to park it "less easily".
Be able to tow something larger than a wheelbarrow.

One huge factor is being missed. A lot of men buy certain cars because they think said car will get them laid. Women have no such consideration with cars.

When it comes to vehicles, 98% of women are filth! No maintenance what so ever! They keep the interior full of shit, water bottles, coffe cups, food wrappers, clothes everywhere. Gas tanks always running on fumes before being filled up.

I believe this. Women want lower servicing costs because they don't know how to fix anything and will have to pay a man for everything about the car.

And they want better gas mileage so they can avoid icky, dirty gas stations and complicated activities like filling their car with gas.

I run a pre-owned dealership and have been in this business for 8 years and I can say unequivocally, both men AND women are realtively clueless when buying cars. Your general station in life and attitude towards cars has more to do with the upkeep and condition of your car than your gender. I've had men trade in trashed, rode-hard shitboxes only a few years old and women trade in gorgeous cars with meticulous service records, still smelling of perfume.

Women's cars tend to have more curb rash on the wheels and - especially with modern cars - torn and damaged lower air dams. Inside, fingernails do damage on control surfaces and steering wheel buttons. The cars at least smell nice.

As far as car buyers, women usually fall into of these categories:

1) Meek and feckless - they let their man (who usually knows about the same or even less) make all the decisions.

2) Checklist buyers - Give me a CARFAX, I'm writing all the info down and looking and twenty other cars. I'll never make a decision and keep driving my Elantra until eternity.

3) OMGZ! - OMGZ I LOOOOOVE IT SO CUTE I WANT IT!

Lower servicing costs can also be translated into "cheaper car." That's not necessarily a bad thing, but, the cheaper the cost to repair, the likelihood of numerous repairs increases. Volvos and Audis are notorious for their costly repairs - Ferraris and Lamborghinis as well but those two are so fringe to barely count. However, how often are Volvos and Audis being towed to the mechanic? A hell of a lot less than Cruzes and Escorts.

I would like to see a comparison between men and women when buying high-end shoes and jewelry. One sex buys timeless staples that never go out of style, can be resoled to last decades, and after a couple weeks to break in, molds perfectly to your feet. And they may buy a few timepieces over their lifetime hitting the double-digit thousands that are marvels of mechanical engineering and ingenuity, that have an understated elegance and civility to be passed down father to son. The other sex will burn 1k on shoes that will be obsolete by the next season and will literally wet their panties for gaudy shiny rocks whose worth is dependent on how exclusive it is (read: make others jealous).*

Or how many Africans died to mine it.

Pfft, if they want more women readers they should just have front page headlines of "Mercedes or BMW - which makes you look prettiest?", "OMG - Channing Tatum buys a Maserati and we have the pics!", "This season's SEXIEST car buys!"

Men and women are going to have different criteria for buying cars because our minds are wired differently. Men historically are the ones who went out hunting and exploring, while the women stayed back at camp. Travelling is in our DNA, so men take their car more seriously as it's more important to us. A lot of men enjoy driving for pleasure, but I've never met a woman who does. Pretty much every woman I've ever known has been unable to say anything about their car other than what colour it is and perhaps the make. They're not programmed to give a damn beyond whether it looks nice and doesn't cost them too much.

Average earnings comes into it too. Men generally earn more, so factors like fuel economy and running costs take less of a priority. So what? If I have more money I buy a bigger house, so what if the energy costs are higher? Doesn't make me a bad decision maker.

And of course as Easy_C has already said, a nice car will get you laid. Say it's first date time and the guy is coming to pick the woman up - does she care whether he turns up in an Aston Martin or an old Volkswagen estate? Will she get wet for the sound of a 6 litre V12 engine revving together with a cocky smile, or will she give it up for a guy regaling her with the story of the time he drove carefully for ages and got 60mpg, and how the tyres are cheap to replace?

Basically, if women care about what car a man drives (and they do), THEY are the ones to blame for men's buying choices!

Lifting buddy's baby was just born. About a month ago, he was telling me about how he was trying to replace the girlfriend's beater with something safer, more reliable, more fuel-efficient, and accessible because of the baby. He had in mind some Subaru wagon, I think it was.

She would hear nothing of it. Oh, she was all in favor of (him) buying (her) a new car, sure, but she was fixated instead on some 2-door, 2WD car with a tight interior because it was sooo cuuuuuute!. Not sure yet how it worked out.

Women and men generally tend to have the same leg lengths as men, but men have longer torsos than women as a general rule.

Women also tend to have longer legs than men of the same height.

Two things:

1) This article is about car buying in England. Lots of differences between there and USA when it comes to cars. They even drive on the other side.

2) Any woman worth a crap has a man doing all her car business for her. The ones that buy any car new by themselves are the "I don't need a man" types. Or they're empowered doctors or lawyers. Therefor, they are going to ask all kinds of questions about fuel efficiency and whatnot, not because they care about those things, but because they want to look empowered and you-go-girlish.

Single girls that are broke go to whatever car lot will finance them and buy pieces of shit out of impulse.

We'd see articles like:

"Why aren't more men in dresses? Why foolish pride robs men of comfort and practicality."
"Male cosmetics and the backwards gender identities that stop men from looking their best."
