Regarding the origami, I remember some complete loser pulling my mom, who was a bartender at the time, with origami roses. Guy was a degenerate biker missing his share of teeth, and not really the type of biker that gets women swooning, but he pulled it off by leaving one for her on multiple occasions when he came into the bar, and she ended up keeping him around for a few years with every reason not to.

She wasn't exactly marriage material, but still...all in all, he was batting pretty far above his average.

The weirdest things will get you past a woman's defenses. Someone once gave me some chocolate candy shaped like hearts, and I didn't want them, so without thinking, I put them on the tray with a tip for a waitress.

She took one look at them, melted on the spot, and invited me to her place that night.

It's hilarious to me how sometimes stuff that seems so "beta" on the surface is exactly what will get in a girl's panties the fastest. Case in point, about a month ago, I was flirting with this 18-year-old server all night by telling everyone in earshot she was my "wife" and just running with the theme for hours. By the end of the night we were going at it in the pool in front of my apartment while her sister and friends sat in my living room being entertained by my African neighbor, who I woke up just for that particular task.

Some of my best scores come from when I'm in my zone and I walk in a place and see some girl sitting there and just stop in my tracks like I've never seen something so gorgeous and whip out my phone and just walk up and insist on her number. Almost pedestalizing her in a way, if you were looking at the game literature, but it's done in such a cocky, confident manner it just seems to work - and it's usually genuine because I only do something like that if I'm super attracted to a woman.

I can't plan something like that or go out "sarging" with some PUA dork trying to force it to happen - it just happens.

It just goes to show what a huge gap there is between internalizing game and rigidly clinging to a bunch of tactics and even principles. Sure, those ideas are important, but when you know what you're doing and are in your flow, you can just feel what's too far and what isn't. Not something you can really teach someone - just comes with experience, I guess.

I could definitely see myself running origami rose game to death and pulling it off - on the other hand, doubt I'd recommend it to a newb who didn't have the fluid social intelligence to pull it off.

Context is everything. Once you've gotten the demeanor and overall vibe down right, you ARE the context, I guess.

The problem is that it is almost impossible to be yourself.

If you don't have insecurities and fears, you have self expectations, or methods and terms you got somewhere and internalized a long time ago, and are no longer conscious of. There are all these invisible barriers to simply being yourself, no more, no less, with full presence and confidence, without trying, in the moment.

So how to drop all that and just be? So many times the things I thought I was doing that women liked they didn't even notice, but some other thing I wasn't even aware of they were keying on.

It seems to be a combination of relaxation, feeling no pressure of any kind, and not giving a shit if you did, of trusting that the next thing out of your mouth would be fine no matter what it was.

Or, as Dandy Don Meredith used to say: "It ain't easy being easy."

Coming to think of it I remember giving another napkin rose to a girl in a bar when I was in Montreal a while back. Again I was interested in her friend next to her. The girl who took the rose seemed to also melt a bit. The girl who I was attracted to seemed oddly happy for her friend - but also just a tint jealous if I read her correctly.

I think I may have stumbled onto something here.

I'm going to try this again soon as appropriate. Something about giving girls a flower seems to melt them and open them up and become comfortable with you.

Could be effective when doing an approach. Show her a plain napkin and turn it into a rose and give it to her.
