I'm here. Its smoky. There's also low hotel occupancy and no traffic. The amount of damage that has actually been done is grossly inflated.

Something which is bugging me about all of this. In pictures you can see the huge volcanic cloud billowing up and out and people are still playing golf or other past times.

Yet these same people would lose their shit if someone burns a large bonfire in the garden next to their house.

Am I missing something here? I know the volcanic activity is always going on but we truly don't know what will happen and every fire alarm is real once in a while.

The news is making it look like the whole damn island is on fire. The area affected is actually,pretty small, and pretty barren. Its a lava field already. Its contained. Remember, this is where (((they))) filmed the moon landing. There's nothing there.

If the folks in Kauai can make a business off "red dirt shirts" why can't you buy up a bunch of $500 clunkers in Hilo, tow them down to that area, and put them "partially" in the path of the lava? Might take some finagling, but I bet you could yank out a half-melted chassis with a bunch of hot lava on it, drag it 10 feet away, let it cool, and Voila! $50,000 sculptures. Make sure to take pictures of a local house and have pictures of stricken-looking locals. Smear a little soot on their faces.

Do that 5-10 times and you have cash for a condo in Honolulu.
