Toronto is a great place to visit. Even if I lived elsewhere, I would still make trips here. The summer months are great here, and you can full your calendar with random events in a short period if you know where to go.

It is living here and the grind that wears you down. When you deal with Toronto women on a part-time basis, it isn't that bad but full time isn't good for the health. Majority of men who have the game or their act together stay here purely for career and business reasons. If Toronto did not have Canada's largest economy, nobody would live here.

Toronto isn't worth the effort. That is just the core of it. For the same amount of energy and resources elsewhere, you will enjoy a much higher quality/standard life or have more new surroundings. NYC, for example, is expensive and can make you poor but the women are great to deal with, and there is lots of culture and exciting things happening in the city that makes up for the potential financial misery. Here in Toronto, you get 1/8 of the culture of NYC for about 85% of the living costs, and half the quality for women and dating.

We say all the time here that tourist visit =/= living here. Every Toronto dude that move here and now complain about it was at one point a tourist here. I myself got suckered into moving here after a 6 day trip to Toronto that was one of the most fun times I have ever had. Lots of parties and pussy, I thought this place was wild. I moved here and desperately tried to recreate that but once winter hit everything went dry.

Also, it's significantly cheaper to fly out internationally (to Europe, Asia or South America) from NYC compared to Toronto if you're the travelling type. Last year I paid around $600 for a round-trip flight to Central Asia from New York with 2-day layover in Belarus...good luck finding such deals flying from YYZ.

Specific to the women, those four cities, and the Canadian ones most of all, seem to instantiate what the "bitch shield" is. I have repeatedly found through multiple trips through, and time living in these cities, that the women are cold. And they flake like crazy. It is as if a fundamental disregard for men or relationships or common decency has been bred in to them. Perhaps it is merely a symptom of the modern supercity. All I know is that I have met girls as hot or hotter than Torontonians, Vancouverites, Sydneysiders, and whatever you call people from Melbourne, who were just way cooler. And I met those girls by going 250 kms to the East or West of those cities. So, it isn't a country thing. I don't think it's a race thing either. It is the unfortunate consequence for many who live in these cities.

Now, Toronto. Sydney is nice. Vancouver is nice. Melbourne is nice. You can do cool things in those cities year-round. Toronto is a shithole of a city. The weather sucks. It is drab and grey. Much of the demographic enclave activity has resulted in closed off groups of people. And in the city proper, the finance, government, and media types are automatons of the worst kind. When there are so many other cities to live in, move to, and game, why (oh, WHY!) would anyone choose Toronto? Do the CN Tower Edgewalk, then get back on a plane and go anywhere else. Seriously.

I think its very possible to get laid and do well, especially with an Aussie accent. Its the generally accepted favourite accent here amongst chicks. I'm sorry, but I've spent a fair amount of time in these cities... particularly Vancouver, and they are not as safe as you make them out to be. When you are broke and homeless people have nothing to steal, but I've been robbed in Vancouver twice... and I don't fucking live there. These cities don't have high murder rates, but people can take your shit and the cops don't care. They literally just tell you to call your insurance company. So, get the fuck out of here with this noise about Canada being amazingly safe. I've been in places where people haven't locked a door in 40 years... those places are safe. To go back to your original question...to simply say "Vancouver sucks" is oversimplifying it...it just has a poor work:reward ratio Game-wise, and price:value ratio financially compared to other cities around the world.

All the pros have already been mentioned: quality of living, beautiful city (for half the year), the surrounding nature, international rotation of girls coming in, good start-up / entrepreneurial scene (but stifling small-business taxes), safe, etc etc. And also the negatives: too many immigrants driving up real estate prices, cliquey / snobby locals, rains half the year, huge PUA scene (competition / saturation), lots of SJW types, etc etc.

I can see how an Aussie player with Game and the shiny factor with the accent can do well in both cities. Plus vacay mode sometimes gives you a better / adventure / extraverted party vibe. Every visitor / international student that I've met raves about how much they loved it. Living here long term is a different animal and like others have mentioned about TO, it just wears on you.

Can you succeed in both places? Absolutely. There is always room for a suave player who's got his stuff together. But you better be willing to put in the work to become a top tier, high value man and be ready to bust your ass off. But then again, why would you want to do that in Van when you can get better quality elsewhere with less work, and where your dollar also goes much farther?

It's a great city to visit and party in the spring & summer for sure, but I can't recommend to another red pill, Game-aware guy to live here.

I'll concede that using the word "immigrants" was a poor word choice since they tend not to be the ones buying up houses and condos right off the plane, but they do add to the demand for housing supply which contributes to higher prices. Oversea foreign investors obviously have something to do with it as well.

While the foreign investor tax has cooled the market somewhat, I would hard say the Chinese have "moved on. The market is still hot compared to other cities as per friends of mine who work in real estate and the numbers they published in the last few months.

I've learned some weird stuff about India over the years and the fact that they had to do public service announcements to ask people not go defecate directly in the street... The tax did fuck all, it momentarily slowed things down. I wish western countries were more like Asian countries where foreigners aren't allowed to buy detached homes. All the tax did was drive the prices up in Seattle but Chinaman love Vancouver and I don't expect that to ever end.

Founded under orders of the French King, by Jacques Cartier (middle class) and Jean-François de La Rocque de Roberval (a Huguenot courtier and friend of the king).

It didn't last, but the early mix of settlers that finally managed to stick were a mix of priests, adventurous nobles, and middle class. There were likely some "poor white trash" too, and there is a story about French prostitutes ("the King's daughters) being sent to satisfy the early settlements.

But let's not go off half-cocked on fantastical comic book manias about who settled North America.

Since the tax came in, the market has slowed down quite a bit. I see a lot more for sale signs in my area and houses are now staying on the market for much longer.

I think the tax came in a bit late, everyone got greedy when the gold rush was going on. I am glad the stupid bidding wars are over, sadly the real estate market is still way too high.
The average "Canadian" buyer doesn't have $250K as a deposit for a home.

I have seen Chinese investors buy the whole floor in a brand new condo. In my line of work, I come across these people that are looking to buy businesses and homes like most people buy sneakers.

This isn't anything new, 20 years ago I recall the rich Hong Kong men paying $250K for a business visa and setting up shop here for their wives and children.

I didn't know foreigners weren't allowed to buy detached homes in Asia, can they buy semi-detached homes?

Now as for the early settlers, they weren't middle class people. They were usually the lower class that were living miserable lives in their respective European country.
Look at Australia, it was a penal colony that Britain used to send their prisoners.
It the later years, Australia paid people to move there and so did Canada.

I don't have a problem if you hate certain people, trust me I don't like everyone. But to say we should ban immigration is a little stupid.

This thread seems to be veering into the immigration policies of Canada, which to me seems to be to immigrate as many people into the country as possible, all of them in Toronto Vancouver Mtl and Calgary.

In terms of getting laid, one nice thing about Toronto is you can get the nationality you want, although in a diluted Toronto version. IF you want a latina you can find one, my buddy is on a ukranian kick and he seems to be lining them up. I lived in Toronto 8 years. The culture in Toronto is very uptight, yes in the summer you can definitely have some fun, lots of different things going on, but when its winter everyone is hibernating and just going to work and waiting to die. Its best to lock a girl down over the winter because by the time people finish work at 5pm its already dark and -10 out.
