Only thing Boomers get the blame for is they chickened out when they had a chance to overthrow the elites in the 60s. America was in upheaval and would have entered a revolutionary period where critical changes to the constitution would have been made (America would be in its 2nd republic right now, a new/heavily modified constitution would have been drafted without a doubt). The American experiment has not been perfect and there had to be adjustments made to keep it in the hands of the people versus the slow degradation into the elites as w have seen.

People like to talk about the divisions and tense atmosphere now but this is only the result of class breakdowns and the majority of people having no money. The divisions of the 60s combined various groups along various class lines whom all viewed the Govt as the enemy. It was the first time in the modern era the Govt was shaking scared and did all it could from intimidation, black operations, assassinations, secret arrests, and the use of force to try and pull the people back in line and they succeeded.

There was the beginning of a legitimate environmental movement, and people were starting to mobilize, and it got co-opted and turned into green products sold by corporations and "Earth Day" celebrated once a year. I watched a documentary a while back, sorry forget the name, that chronicled this subversion from genuine grass roots movement to a bunch of meaningless feel good gestures.

Proto-virtue signalling basically.

I got involved in leftist politics in the 90's and everything we were doing got choked out by phony corporate sponsored fake grass roots organizations with excellent PR tricks, great names, and bottomless checkbooks.

Social engineering was alive and well back then too, maybe without the reach of today's electronic media, and it was successful in subverting and misrepresenting the groups and people who could have been leaders for change that served the people instead of the elites.

They came of age during the Red Scare and Joe McCarthy in the 1950s and still went through life using "McCarthyism" as a slur when the facts were evident that he was correct all along. Many of them went on to become hard-core leftists themselves. Some turning it into a career as elites - unapologetic marxist professors influencing generations more followers.

People like David Horowitz were one of the few true believers deep in the Trotskyite weeds to finally wake up and smell the coffee. Alas, most boomers rather gladly went along for the ride.

The last thing I want to recommend is resignation. If you or anyone else is reading the EE forum and getting that feeling, then I recommend reading less. I don't read the Migrant Invasion thread for that reason.

Some of us are just venting. Otherwise we might vent in situations where it isn't appropriate. Perhaps it's selfish, but also natural. Some people have a greater difficulty in not shouting "you're full of shit" and a lot of people are full of shit today.

Personally, I've been limited in what I can do by things outside my control, but that doesn't mean I am not working on changing things, just not writing about it. It can be extremely frustrating when you're used to being independent but now have to deal with systems full of these leftist/feminist people. Particularly if some of them hold (temporary) power over you.

I am not advocating victim mentality at all though. It's good and healthy to have somewhere to say "those things which are not allowed to be said", but complaining is not the end goal. As you complain, you should feel aggression dissipating, feel good knowing your "wrong think" is not just you. Then go out and do your thing. There are great subsections devoted to this.

Sometimes things becomes a habit, even if you don't need that habit anymore.

Cultural shifts interest me; this was the first thread directly discussing the insufferable boomer influence, which for much of my life I've always detested but been forced to tolerate.

Fast forward to the current times, and 70% of millennials self identify as socialists and think commies are cool-! I may not be able to change that but I like to stay abreast of seismic shifts in the landscape. It's as fascinating as it is a bit exasperating, and it can be a useful canary in the coal mine (e.g., given my observations, does such-and-such a choice in my life, career, retirement, etc. make sense for me now?)

I'm an Xer; maybe this particular topic resonates more with my generation than others.

But yeah, the false flag/conspiracy/(((them))) threads are about done after the first or second post.

I had to laugh last night. I was hiking along the lake and saw two sixteen year old boys sitting on a rock watching the growing storm. They called out to a younger boy they obviously knew playing some distance away and directed his attention to the crazy lightning on the horizon.

"Fuck!" the younger one said, as he came running up.

"Please don't swear," one of the older boys said, "I'm Christian."

"Sorry," the other one answered.



I mean, it's easy to laugh at Millennials for losing their minds when anyone disagrees with them, but I saw the exact same meltdown behaviour if you challenged a Nun about Religion, a School Teacher about a Margaret Atwood book, or any of the many Producers and Musicians I've worked with over the years who expected me to default to the worship of the endless waves of boring bands they liked as teenagers. (Hell, I've got every Psychedelic Furs album from the 1980's, but I'm not going to shove them down anyone's throat as the be all and end all of rock music).

A Boomer Producer was talking to me the other week about The Beatles - of course - and telling me the story, for the 1000th time - of how they cut together two different takes of 'Strawberry Fields Forever' to arrive at the final single.

"Makes sense," I said. "So not only did Lennon have no idea what he was trying to say, he had no idea of how to say it."

This is what my mum (born in 1953) {i]hates[/i] about her generation, maybe partially because how narcissistic her mum was. While there's plenty of exceptions to the rule it seems to be a good bet when dealing with boomers.

Couldn't agree more with you AB. Take my parents (boomers): broke up with each other when I was still shitting into my diapers. I have never seen them together. My mother married one loser after the other and now lives by herself popping anti-depressants. All her children wound up in foster homes or with foster parents and got mistreated or beaten (I fortunately only got the latter). My father, never seen them together with my mom. He died a few years ago and I had to read about it online by accident. Both were selfish pricks who only did what served them the most without any regards as to the happiness of their children. Never got a cent from either of them.

Take my wife's parents (boomers): Same story, broke up when she was a teen and she and her siblings were torn between them, having put up with all the fights and back stabbing between them. Her father is a good looking loser who lived off of women his entire life, rarely paid his taxes, and now lives off of social security whilst taking advantage of some rich greek widow. He never gave two shits about his kids and didn't show up at our wedding either. His ex-wife is cut from the same tree. Started to date Nigerians when she was still younger and one of them turned out to be a sect/cult leader who was suspected to be in child trafficking. She wound up telling her teenage daughter to leave the apartment before he was showing up.

I could go on but you get the idea. Completely fucking irresponsible generation and everywhere I look now I see the long term impact of their selfish choices. We should all piss on their fucking graves (assuming they deserve it of course - there are a few exceptions).

If ever there were a more overrated bunch of musicians, they were it. They got lucky with a certain sound and rolled with it, but the minute they all went their separate ways they sucked balls. Band on the Run? Imagine? I can't even name one of Ringo or George's singles - fucking horrible. And Yoko Ono?! WTF.... Lennon obviously did waaaay too much acid.

All of them just hit the demographic sweet spot and the rest was history.

I've accepted my parents were deeply-flawed, and have forgiven them - they were what they were - but I imagine I'm also an exception to the rule.

There's conflict coming, both right and left and looking for someone to blame, and it's simply another divide that will form as shit starts going south. It's very easy for my generation to look at how easy the Boomer Generation had it, to have sensed the tale end of a prosperous society and seen evidence of stable family structures that still existed in our childhoods, all of which was destroyed before our eyes, then take in the realization that 1/3 of our generation was aborted in the womb, and, well, I imagine there's a lot of people in the next 15 years who are going to be dancing not only on graves, but every single ideal that was held dear by what they see as selfish, privileged monsters.

Gen Z have had the same experience, whilst growing up under the harassment-era of the PC Moral Policing Millennials. White People are not united, the Right even less so. Even now, they're distracted and wasting time attacking each other. Hell, I don't think much of Trump, and I'm probably considered a 'Cuck' for looking after a half-aboriginal Kid who isn't my son. If Tribal Lines start forming in a Collapse, all these factors will come into play about who you choose to stand with, and, with that reality, certain age demographics are going to be viewed with deep suspicion.

I stumbled across this movie trailer since I first posted earlier today.

Ages back on here, I wrote about how the Left existed at the fringes of Popular Culture, and how it was obvious they now controlled Pop Culture since they now revel in the sort of mass culture - like Star Wars and Marvel Movies - that Leftists of my era would have sneered at as being 'so mainstream'. Their culture was Subversive and Fringe, and I mentioned a movie like 'Heathers', from 1987 or 1988, a flop on its initial release, where a girl meets a bad boy and they set about killing the popular kids in their high school, since, in the Leftist mind, childhood status injuries are a valid justification to fantasize about murder. Of course, the people they hate are really substitutes for their parents: the Cheerleaders and Jocks. There's some very spot on depictions of latchkeying, and conversations with self-absorbed parents who aren't really listening.

Now look at this. They've remade it. Understand it's aimed at a teenage Gen Z audience. Take a good look at who the heroes and villains are.





Particularly: note the language the Queen Guy uses to describe the Heroine's boyfriend.

The Social Justice Brigade is downvoting it to oblivion, and not understanding that people are seeing them as, well, the bullies they are.

I'm hoping it's not a fake out.
