A stag in Scotland.


I can imagine my ancestors patrolling across these areas, many years ago.


Somerset countryside, showing the patchwork fields and small villages.


High altitude wildlife in the Lake District.


Another Lake District snap.

This is without delving in to the majestic Cornish countryside, which is a must-see for any visitor during the summer.

I also think lots of the most beautiful scenes are found in the perfect imperfection of sunny days in the countryside, You need the sounds and smells to complete the sensation. The dusty single lane dirt-tracks that Allied forces drilled along for D-Day practice, the lusciously green fields and the church towers.

I know it's a bit subjective, but I find the English countryside to be the most beautiful place on the face of the earth.

Co.Mayo, Achill Island. I hadn't gone here since I was child, so when I returned recently, I nearly crashed the car repeatedly such was the gargantuan size of everything around here. It changes constantly every turn of the road has you doing exclamation points in your head.
