Its well being and defense depends on having a navy that can keep and protect the sea lanes to England and its overseas territories. While today there is not much of a threat to the sea lanes, and a number of other nations with navies are allied with England, there is always the possibility of things changing in the future and the sea lanes to England remaining open would depend on it having its own navy capable of doing that job. At the rate the navy is shrinking it could be just another decade or two before England was totally dependent on other nations for keeping its sea lanes open.

I wouldn't trade places with Harry no matter who I ended up married to. This whole spectacle seems like a nightmare, and being under that level of scrutiny for life, combined with all the sacrifices you would have to make just to be a figurehead, you can keep it.

I think the real winner was that girl he went out with in the early 2000s, Chelsy Davy. She was just a rough and tumble outdoor girl from Africa who moved to England to go to a private school and didn't know anything, had never even worn make up when she arrrived at school.
