Didn't give two shits about this until I caught a glimpse of it on TV and got sucked in. It's quite hard to be sucked in by all the pomp and ceremony of it all. And I suppose it's a reminder of how important Britain and its monarchy once was in the world, and it's probably one of the few times in a lifetime where they're allowed to showcase it, and for its subjects to be proud of it. ^ to be fair, I don't mind the diversity on show here. The black choir and that pastor are fantastic examples of black culture, a refreshing change to the gang shit on the news constantly. As an aside, maybe this marriage will help to mend the terrible black-white race relations in America. Or maybe I'm overstating its importance.

That pastor wasn't just black, he's quintessentially American. I grew up with sermons like that in white churches in the Mid-South. There is no polite ritual in low-church Protestant America, it's all about your skill in turning the Word into a flaming sword and sending everybody home a little shaken.

In a way, I'm kind of happy about this wedding, because despite Markle being mixed... all the people we on this forum dislike (SJWs, Islamists, post modernists etc) absolutely hate the monarchy, the tradition etc... and will have been in a terrible mood today seeing all the British and English flags waving around, seeing the little boys and girls at the wedding dressed masculine and femininely respectively, and a whole load of other stuff that drives them bonkers. I'm sure if I went on twitter you'd see them criticising Markle for selling out etc. No doubt they already have. I was at an older woman's apartment helping her out with something. Her TV stopped working and I set it up. Almost all the TV channels have this crap running. There are welfare grannies who are spending all their disposable income on Royal Wedding paraphernalia.
