^ I'm more optimistic about cryptos than you, SamB. That the coins on Bittrex aren't looking too good these days is probably a product of them not adding any new coins recently, so by now the hype on Bittrex's coins have gone stale.

But that doesn't speak to the fundamentals of coins like BTC, ETH, PART, OMG, etc. It has nothing to do with Bittrex whatsoever. I think they have a real future once the ICO moon chasing dies down, shitcoins flatline, and the next order-of-magnitude crypto pump happens, taking us to $1T+ market cap territory. I know you don't see that happening, but I think it is only a matter of when, not if... and I'm not alone in my thinking.

You are looking at it the wrong way.

Most alts have gained against the dollar, it's just bitcoin has gained more.

Take OMG, it's up 4% on the US$ in the last 24 horus, but down 1% on BTC as BTC grew 5%.

Might be a good idea to pick up ODN (Obsidian) on cryptopia this week and then sell when it gets listed on HitBTC next week as they just announced a listing for 15th October. Potentially some money to be made here short term.

Has a HitBTC listing ever affected price? Honestly asking here, 'cause I was talking with some folks about this earlier tonight and the answer seemed to be "no".

To Sam:

My strategy is don't be greedy. When you see some profit just cash out. It worked with obsidian and I cashed out at some good gains. Sometimes it'll bite you in the back just like chainlink. I took the 50% gains instead of the 500% gain.

But on the flip if your confident in something just hold. I'm confident in 0x and Kyber and will hold that for at least a year.

5 eth deep in substratum now (11k SUB). Hoping for a quick flip between now and the Request ICO opening up. Even if it doesn't pan out spectacularly I don't really mind, honestly I'm only doing this to pass the time between now and October 13th.

Swing trading is doing the opposite of what everyone else does. You buy when everyone else sale. The trick here is knowing when to buy. You buy when there is a panic usually . You look at that and determined what it's rightful price and if the drop is justified.

If you feel confident that the price will bounce back up after a panic then you buy. Of course some coins never recover but you play on probability. Nothing is 100% safe. If I feel there's a 70% chance of recovering. I buy.

Another thing is patience. Some dips take a week or more to recover. Don't panic and sale. Trust that there are a lot of supporters for that coin that they will push it price back up where they think it belongs.

Of course, you have to know all the technical analysis of reading a chart and candle sticks like you do with day trading.

Swing trading is how you can make money while the market is stalling. I'll always keep a stash in Bitcoin and Ethereum of course
