Going against the grain here, but I thought it was a great game. It was physical, but clean, and no BS from the refs. But mostly I enjoyed it because it was an epic defensive battle. I'm partial to an old school, more traditional brand of football with its roots in winning on the line, rushing the ball and good defense. It flies in the face of what general viewing public prefers to see, and what the NFL is trying to engineer via rules changes and so forth, which are games in which teams just walk down the field scoring TDs every two minutes. To me, that's boring but it's the Fantasy Football Stat Explosion era now and there's nothing I can do about it.

So it was satisfying to see the way the game went, and seeing cliches like "defense wins championships" still stand up even in this era. It came down to two old heads, Belichick and Wade Phillips, and they put on a show. Phillips was up against the best QB of all time, and was able to hold him to his worst performance in a Super Bowl. Belichick was up against the highly touted, futuristic Rams offense that sports writers have been wanking it to for the entire season, and shut them down in a historic manner, with a defense that has not one player anyone will remember in 6 months, let alone years down the line. There was some nice symmetry in that this was the same Rams team that essentially played a basketball game with the Chiefs during the regular season, and Belichick and his old school, industrial ways shut down both of those tech startups on route to another ring. I'm not a Pats fan at all, but I've got huge respect for what the Pats did on defense.

Ultimately the Pats were able to post enough points because Brady was finally able to engineer one complete drive, while Goff wasn't, which further confirms the fact that Brady is the best ever. But the story of the game was great defense. Last night traditionalism, and substance over style won the day.

Doubtful, he was the starting QB for 4 years at one of the top athletic HS in the country, then played WR for a division 1 college, all the while being constantly exposed to the NFL through his grandfather and then has spent the last decade as a coach in the NFL.

He's a good looking guy who has been making good to great money for a decade, from a family with prestige who went to and starred at an elite HS. This guy has been getting top shelf pussy his whole life whether he has game or not from pure status play.

And yeah, he's playing in the big leagues with that one but he's in as good a position to tame her as anyone. Guys basically the next big thing in the NFL as far as coaching goes and should have fuck you money by the end of the next decade even if he busts from here, this run has bought him probably 4 more years with the Rams at least and then he's going to be one of the highest paid OC after that and probably straight into a cushy media job from there if he wanted and that's the worst case career path for him. He's set and he'd know it.

Also enjoyed it, I've never been a fan who equates scoring with a good game but I mean I'm the guy who'd rather watch a "best hits" than best catches video. Was a great physical contest where the real battle was on the lines and in the coaches booth. Wade Phillips did an outstanding job containing the Pats offense. I've never seen Brady struggle like that to get his reads right. BB and Flores did an even better job just confusing the crap out of Goff and the OL, they just had no answer for the stunts that the Pats were running.

For me there is still something beautiful about defense in sports. I'm in the minority these days where most people automatically equate high scoring with better game.

This time, both teams had to kick on fourth down again and again. When either team managed to break through and gain some longer yards, it was a big deal.

I was rooting for the White Nationalists, so I was happy with the outcome. It was a tight game right up to the last minute when they scored the second field goal. It kept me watching the game closely.

I have to agree that the halftime was ass. I ignored the commercials as I always do, so they didn't bother me.

Saw this recently plus the one girl in the NFL 100 commercial with all of the star and legend players. It's really laughable. Even my own mom mentions to me how too many women are starting to get involved with football, and she barely watches anything. They are legit giving this girl special treatment because she's a girl. She plays on basically one of the lowest levels of college football you can ask for in a position where she's really not going to get hit much if at all. And they're talking her up like she's about to be a pro. Get the fuck out. I would pay to see her try to cover Julio Jones. Good luck tackling him or any of the other giants as a chick. The same thing happened with the NHL All Star Game recently where they hyped up this girl who could skate pretty fast. Good luck taking a check in a real game if they let the men loose.

When flag football becomes relevant maybe that's when women start to play. The real question is if the old no-win situation will apply with guys versus girls in that if you beat a girl you're a dick but if you lose you're weak.

Listen, most of us here will never live the life of a Sean McVay type. He's got L/M/S. Fair play to em. No hate, only congrats, even if he got his foot in the door due to nepotism.
