The Chinese love of basketball always makes me curious. Do they play with much lower nets? Whats the average height of their top level teams?
I've been to Beijing and Shanghai and there was almost nobody over 6ft0 there. Yao Ming aside, I can't imagine they've many reasonably sized players to choose from.

Today there was an Amazon Washington Post story on Kaepernick.
Basically, the sportswriter laments that the media and SJW campaign to bully and shame the NFL into employing Kaepernick this season hasn't worked. WaPo is usually very aggressive at shadow-banning commentators who don't toe the party line, so I was surprised by the tone of the most up-voted comments. Here are some of the best:

Pro athletes live in a bigger bubble than even most SJWs their whole lives due to the status they've enjoyed since middle school - high school - college due to everyone treating them like gods for their sportsball ability.
Teachers treated them different, parents treated them different, girls treat them different and that's all they know. That's why they crash so hard when their career is over, they can't imagine the world any differently than everyone kissing their ass. They never had to think deeply about anything.
And unlike other SJW's they actually did earn their status, so they really feel they're authorities in society.

I like baseball but they need to find a way to speed it up drastically. These 4-8 hour games I don't have time for, I've watched a few (5 maybe) with my dad this year just because we enjoy watching games but you would have to pay me to watch 162 4-6 hour games.
Also as a Patriots fan I've hated Goodell for years but if he cucks to these 4 egos on "social justice month" he will look like a complete schmuck and I believe the owners will fire him.

An automated strike zone would speed the game up.
Nah, screw that. Do away with the video review, and force batters to stay in the box. No more dancing around after every pitch.

Not a bad idea, make it a riff off the old breast cancer awareness campaign. Have these brave voluteers wear full pink uniforms (not just that ribbon stuff) with notice that they'll have the whole team do it if it catches on. They might also draw a pink bullseye on their backs...but that probably won't be necessary
Have them run out on the field in skirts and high heels to show their support for trans-issues...the possibilities are endless.

I don't agree with Cowherd on everything but he's right on this. Put an exciting team (high scoring passing offence) on the field and people will watch. Nobody wants to go to a game to watch their team get blown out or struggle to score 10 points. The obvious difference with TV is that a viewer might tune in to the game halfway through if they check the score and see it's an exciting one like last nights game.
The attendance issue is being overstated because posters are cherry picking from the 3 bottom franchises: the two LA teams and the 49ers.
