Is it just me or is betting on the Steelers to cover a 7 point spread against the Bears basically free money?

Don't forget that the Bears are at home, which is traditionally worth 6 points versus an away game (so Bears @ Steelers would be Steelers -13, a pretty normal spread for a good team at home against a shitty team).

Also, just two weeks ago, Steelers were -8 versus the Browns (probably the worst team in the NFL), and they only won by 3. Steelers in the past few years have been notoriously hot or cold. They can win a game by 20 and then choke the next week. Last year, I bet big on them when they were playing at the Dolphins (who were 1-4 I think!) and only favored by 3, and they proceeded to get blown out by 15.

With spread bets, I've learned many times that there's never free money, and sometimes, the most juicy looking spreads are the ones that bite you in the ass.

Bears almost beat the falcons in week 1. Steelers are not as good on road as at home. Feels like a trap game I'll probably skip that game.

All the favorites basically won yesterday, vegas will be out for revenge I expect a devastating upset or two this weekend.

I think it was smart to avoid that USC/CAL moneyline, even though the spread is wide, CAL is on a roll and after defeating Ole MISS, USC winning is probable but not a sure thing in my mind, USC hasn't done anything to impress me yet to ensure they aren't overrated. It could be a very big upset.

I`m interested.

Spitballing,
a lot of these gambling sites have signup bonuses.
How about you take Disco V`s parlays and use them in a system, let`s say if the parlay is 10 games, you bet an 8game system.
If all games hit you should triple your money.
If you miss on a game you will at least get your money back.
Meanwhile you gamble enough to earn the right to cash out the bonus.
Won`t make you rich, but do this on 10 different bookies and there could be some decent cash coming in.
Thoughts?
Am i missing something here?

RE: Football Gambling Journal
Most of the bonuses are bullshit; they have a 'minimum rollover' of 12 or so. Which means you have to bet that bonus like 12 times on games AT ODDS OF -200 OR LESS before you can withdraw it. Meaning most of my parlays wouldn't even count towards the bonus rollover because most of mine are heavy favorites like -1000.

So basically you'd have to successfully hit like 10 games or more that are fairly risky in the -150 range. The bonuses are just to sucker in newbies (I was the same way). I don't even pay attention to the bonuses you should be focused on your picks IMO.

There's a lot of shitty sportsbooks that have poor payout records, they sucker in new business by offering those 'deposit bonuses'. so you sign up thinking you just doubled your money or some shit. It's like a Ponzi scheme, they want you to keep depositing, making the terms so you'll lose the bonus before being able to withdraw it.

Check out https://www.sportsbookreview.com/ they're like a union for degenerate gamblers, they review all the sportsbooks and rate the best ones.

That's why I only use Nitrogen, Heritage, Bookmaker, and 5dimes. Them and only a couple others are trustworthy. Dozens of shady books with ridiculous 'bonuses' that are too good to be true.

Disco have you used this strategy of starting with 64 bucks and turning it into 100k before?

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

How about Maryland vs UCF?

Maryland is -170 at home coming off a big road win at Texas and a blowout win last week UCF just got rocked with the hurricane and had their game last week cancelled - who even knows how their practice situtation has been lately. Really digging UMD.

Been betting for the last 7 years daily, made a good amount of money doing it (remember that only 1% of people betting are on profit), I tell you, there is no way in hell he is making 100k in 3 to 4 weeks, matterfact I highly doubt he will be on profit 4 weeks from now.

Then post some picks and show me $35 into $735 in one weekend. Otherwise GTFO.

It's not called 'instructional', as I consider it a journal anyways.

@progambler I strongly suspect that will be a fruitless endeavor. I was a (semi) pro gambler myself for the better part of my adult life and you can't teach people. For most people things like value, edges, staking etc are alien concepts.

@all You want to read Joseph Buchdals books on gambling. If you don't know him, you don't know a thing about betting, no matter whether you think you do.

In fairness its only garbage if he looses his bets which while there is an extremely high probability it will happen he has to lose a couple times in a row to do so.

I'd also be interested to see a data sheet though with some of your picks and reasoning.

This is a very fun thread and Disco's picks have been spot on.

He's taking an aggressive strategy with huge upside and very little downside.*

For me, I'm just dicking around and tailing for fun, but I'm sure Disco has put in a considerable amount of thought into his picks.
I'm sure those of us who have profited from this are thankful that we've had this information made available to us for free.
I, for one, don't know shit about sports betting analysis beyond "put money on Floyd."

*Before someone says that buying a lottery ticket is the same, we don't know what edges Disco is working with.
E.g. Betting on Trump looks retarded to most people, but here we are: /thread-59013...pid1453241

And for all we know you could have lost that 60k the following day. Start posting picks or stop criticizing.

Again, this is a journal. Disco is being transparent about his picks and not saying people should follow him, but rather just demonstrating what he's doing.

If everyone made journals of 3 NFL touchdown plus hype favourites and a 3 point road fav parlayed with a bunch of -1000 college picks, the forum would be a shambles. It's just completely worthless and people should be educated on the truth. The lifestyle forum is for improving your life, not being a dead beat $20 parlay / mcgregor backer.
