Black looters matter.

The bad news for them is they got caught. The good news is that after their convictions are served, they can work for George Soros.

Another video angle of multiple looters. And same items were stolen again: sneakers. Rolleyes

It's not that they can't it's that they don't. To say otherwise is incredibly naive.

Taking one gun enthusiast out of the population and extrapolating his knowledge to the masses is self-evidently illogical.

I'm so glad you're here. Without bastions of wisdom like you, dullards like me would be endlessly stumbling around in the dark.

Boring

"Self-evidently illogical"? If you read a sentence out loud and it sounds like something Spock would say then you have to understand that you're going to come across as a wanker.

To the post above: AW hell NAW!

To my SW FL people: This is could've been a LOT worst, and on balance, it was probably good that the media went into over-hype mode. Nonetheless, still be cautious and stay safe. Most people will probably be off from work for the next few days, but post-storm trauma can still happen.

After Houston and now this one.

What happens after the clean up, who rebuilds these places?

Do they ship tradesmen in from around the country once the insurance starts rolling in?

Yes. They hire contractors and ship them in to do the fixin'. Some Texas electricians are getting paid 22/hr + 100 per diem to work in Florida for FPL (electric company) restoring power.

Just seen this. Sweet pay for a month.

Quote:They had been told to expect to work at least a month of straight 16-hour days, with no breaks, trying to restore power to millions of homes.

Many of the journeyman linemen, as their union calls them, savored both the financial opportunity and the adventure of racing into a historic hurricane.

"I'll probably make 30 grand this month," said Chilelli, 48. "Everybody out here is killing it. Of course, you're dealing with something that could kill you any minute."

Have a buddy who is a linesman. He said that some of these guys will work these big storms and have their mortgages paid off in a couple of months. Not a bad gig - but you can die easily

RE: 2017 Hurricane Irma
Rci (radio caraïbes international) has made an article about the lootings in Saint-Martin (article made 09/09/2017 )

https://www.rci.fm/infos/societe/saint-m...sage-dirma

Quote:Translated by Google
Saint-Martin: the truth about insecurity since the passage of Irma
It is now confirmed on the basis of several testimonies, that it is the biggest chaos in St-Martin on the security level. To the plunder are added many other facts much more serious, consequence of taking possession of the street and the districts by organized bands.

St-Martin today? It's Mad Max and Independence Day, the most total chaos. All the codes of life in society have shattered. The public authority having been cruelly failing in respect of its maintenance of law and order, but also in the protection of property and persons; and nature having a horror of emptiness, it was at first looters by tens who took possession of the street. They then moved on to the top speed, with organized bands, well-known in the territory of St-Martin, who were committed to defending their territory and opportunely to conquer others, all against a background of settlement of drug and arms trafficking. Already overwhelmed in normal times, the gendarmes are now completely destitute. One of them, under cover of anonymity, described to us a much more serious situation than the authorities would like to believe. "It's a big shit. The island is actually destroyed to 95%, one could even say 100%. All shops are pillaged every day. We look at it because we are under effective. Reinforcements of mobile gendarmes have certainly arrived, but it is still the gendarmes of Marigot to secure the Super Super surface, day and night, "said the soldier.

A chilling reality

At the same time, small strikes armed with cutlasses, knives, but also much more heavily attack the whole coming, according to their low criminal instincts. To take the risk of leaving one's home with this or that visible thing is to expose oneself to violence and / or armed robbery. And as the security forces are struggling to regain possession of the land, all this happens with the utmost impunity. The perpetrators of these serious incidents have realized that even if they are arrested or taken in flagrante delicto, it will be technically difficult to place them in police custody and to defer them. All these criminals pace the streets as predators track their prey. When they do not frankly attack the homes they believe abandoned. The risk is also high for women, currently in St-Martin. Some are forced to barricade themselves and survive recluses for fear of being raped, convinced that in the event of aggression by these armed groups, no one will be able to help them. The population seems to be left to itself, obliged to organize itself as it can to defend itself against thieves.

Leaving at all costs

The most vulnerable people and easy prey for the criminals want to leave the island by all means, terrorized by this explosion of delinquency and violence. A scene unrealistic but so revealing of the panic that seizes the people in distress: a man tried to catch a private boat that swam from St-Martin to Pointe-à-Pitre, with several evacuees on board . Although the Prefecture has put in place measures to restrict traffic, at least until Wednesday, while the Dutch authorities have deployed their armed forces in Sint Maarten; proof of the clear difference of appreciation of the security peril on both sides of the border separating the French part from the Dutch part.

The "vicar" of Christ has spoken....

Pope Francis said the recent spate of hurricanes should prompt people to understand that humanity will "go down" if it does not address climate change and history will judge those who deny the science on its causes.

It looks like somebody was fed up with his papal bullshit and cracked him in the eye:

Or maybe he called St. Francis Asissi. (Get it?)

Just remember. You can rig up a great source of emergency power by getting two large sticks, strapping them together with fencing wire, brushing them down with canola oil and then buying a power generator.

I kept a sailboat in Key West and often returned there many times for Spearfishing, Diving , Sailing and banging .

Those days are over, atleast not business as usual. My sailboat was washed out into the atlantic ocean or sunk or both. Im pretty bummed about it as i sailed that boat throughout the carribean and she protected me on many storms .

My friends that stayed described being there as apocalyptic. Honestly im surprised it wasnt much worse...

RE: 2017 Hurricane Irma
Power is back on, thank fuck.

It's unbelievable how many are just driving right on through these intersections that have no power. It's one thing to not understand how a four way stop works (the majority of people in this idiot county), but to call yourself a rational and of sane mind human being and deciding to just drive on through these or barely slow down is beyond comprehension. Driving after the storm shouldn't be the most dangerous part, but I think at least for around here it is. I've only been out for when I needed to be and tried my best to make right turns and stay on the interstate but damn, I was very nervous going through the intersections.

Also, miraculously, I managed to fall ill Friday afternoon as I was taking things in from outside, so I got to deal with that through the storm and without power for two days.

Just superficial damage here, fences and trees. Surprisingly some quite large trees got taken down. Ultimately, I feel like we dodged a bullet, the keys though...not so much. I don't know what state the west coast is in, I hope it's ok.

The main thing I learned through all this is that discontinuing the TV waves that handheld TVs could pick up was a disastrous mistake. xfinitywifi never worked and disappeared long before the power went out. AT&T's unlimited data usage was useless when the cell towers went down halfway through the storm, and I still have no cell service. My electronic devices were useless, I was completely cut off from all information and emergency services for about a day and a half. If a looter invaded my residence in a pitch black neighborhood I had no way of contacting police. My handheld TV was useless, fortunately it has a radio and I was lucky enough to pick up many of the Spanish speaking stations around here and nothing else. So I need a good radio and a firearm for self defense pronto. Also I can't forget to get cash beforehand, next time I might not be so lucky as to be able to just drive down the street where a bank has power. Incredibly reckless to not have cash on hand.

So tired, got almost no sleep last night as it was quite stiflingly hot and my sickness was really irritating. Fuck whoever got me sick.

Jokes aside, I have family in affected areas, and they are thinking the exact same thing.
