RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
If you are ever visiting the Bay Area, just 40 minutes north of San Francisco is Mount Tamalpais.
It's in the middle of a watershed and, the people of Marin County, not wanting Northern California to end up like the Asphalt South, have put aside 115 square miles of open space around it.
https://www.google.com/maps/search/mount...a=!3m1!1e3
Takes a little more than a hour to drive there from SF, or two and a half hours to ride your bike.
A great day of hiking. You can shake off the SJW energy in a few hours.
You can still see the city from the summit:
But here's the good news positivity part. If you go on a foggy day, you end up just above the fog, and the view of San Francisco is obliterated.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
A couple days ago marked the two year anniversary of the start of my weight loss journey. I started out at 319lbs, and 37% body fat. I currently sit at 246lbs, and around 23%-25% body fat. Been a long road and there is still more to go. You can read further detail in my ketosis datasheet about how I lost it and all.
I am still planning to get down to 225lbs-230lbs and then start a bulk. Just thought I'd let some positivity into the atmosphere for all y'all.
My bro and I are gonna cheat with a large pizza and apple pie tonight. A bit of a celebration and fuel for whats to come.

Damn son. How tall are you that you can bulk at 230lbs?
Currently sitting at 6'2". I'm currently 18 years old and said to stand at 6'4" fully grown(family genetics always have a large growth spurts around 19). I am quite broad shouldered and chested, as of now my chest is 46" with little to no fat on pec, and any development of any muscle was done in a deficit. I guess being fat helps build a good foundation. Or it was just good genetics, either way, I'm not complaining!
Feel free to PM if you wanna talk further.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
I've just got back hours ago from a two and a half weeks in mid west USA, mainly for the motor sport. I took a risk this time and took my Asian partner with me who is a definitely not a motor sport fan and usually just sticks to big city typical tourist stuff.
The friendliness of the locals was just mind blowing and she really came out of her shell and had an amazing time. Just lots of small interactions that make a big difference.
Another thing I decided was to tack on a few days in Chicago for her, a city I didn't know much about and really just picked it because it was big and close to where we were. The sort of place she might like.
I had this picture of a typical big ugly city and boring tourist stuff that I'm not really much into.
Anyway the city just blew us away, amazing new and old buildings, a pretty lake, perfect weather and cool bars. Went to some and got on the piss with the locals and it was so cool seeing the Mrs coming out of her skin and talking with them.
Apart from a bit of rain one night at the speedway, dry as a bone we missed the rain from the storms.
Another positive thing was seeing all the help for the folks hammered by the two storms.
I know a lot of people are down about the USA and in particular how China seems to be taking over. I spent a couple of weeks there a few months ago and there just ain't any comparison in my view, give me the USA any day of the week.
Finally the way you respect the veterans is inspiring, seems way more than here is Australia.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
Just as I've said there's nothing like a torrent of rain on a roof, there's nothing like the slight bite in the air that is a mid-spring morning in Australia, full of the tang of heat that promises the summer. It's wildflower season, too, and the golden wattles are blooming. Everywhere in parks where I walk there are galaxies of little suns appearing:
I think Eric Bogle must've been thinking of these beautiful ladies when he wrote his song Shelter:
From here to the far horizon, your beauty does unfold
And oh you look so lovely, dressed in green and gold
Remissas, discite, vivet.
God save us from people who mean well. -storm

Got laid off from work (last to come, first to get laid off type of thing). It was a good job, with a decent paycheck. Free accommodation and 2 free meals a day.
In 2 days time, found the same type of job with a better paycheck and much better meals (all you can eat).

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
I'm getting much better at longsword in HEMA. I have started playing to my strengths, rather than try to find my opponents' weaknesses and force them.
The best duelist in our club is fast as hell. Scarily fast. And of course has better technique. I am working on technique, but the speed will have to come in the future. For now, I realized I simply will not beat him with speed.
He is also strong, and so am I. But he does not use strength in duels unless he is going up against someone exceptionally weak. So rather than try to beat him with speed, I simply force through his guard with strength, as I know he won't resist. I've scored far more hits on him this way, as when I force a strike through, he usually tries a quick strike from a different angle. He scores an afterblow, but I usually make contact first, awarding me the point.
This has been monumentally encouraging. I cannot wait to own my own set of sword and armor for sparring. Perhaps one day, I may get my own actual battle-ready steel sword and armor, if I can justify the purchase with a few wins under my belt from tournaments.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
That's funny, Young Blade. Just signed up for a historical fencing club this week. Never felt alive like this since the last 2 years. Overwhelmingly guys with only the odd fat/dike bull chick in. The main members are extremely bonhomie. Enormous giants with huge guts, Viking beards and shaved heads, they are rough but extremely friendly.
The training itself is intense. Marching order, footwork, riposte and strike, and team duels. Very surprising to see how different opponents bring out different things in you. I actually fare a lot better against veteran fencer than against newbies for some reason. Seeing a strike flashes around you, parry and riposte, all in less than a sec, totally brings out the adrenaline in you. Nearby are the heavily armored guys with two-handed forged steel zweihanders/claymores causing havoc.
Goddamn, being in a rough and hewn gym full of sweat, with steel-against-steel music to your ears, your whole body drenched in sweat and pain and adrenaline numb your nerves. That's how men are supposed to live. Not stuck in a fucking 9-5 cubicle staring at a screen.
At the same I also resume my regular aikido training. With the new organization now the club is flooded with young students. The chicks are cute and aggressive, some already tried to fight me. The guys are rather respectful and full of energies, unlike the old beta typical in the usual class.
I didn’t realize how much I miss being around energetic and positive people. Makes me feel alive again and forget the shit going on around me.
I think that’s the quality that really makes us human: tenacity. Despite whatever happens, humans always do their best to keep their life going, for better or for worse.
Also just come back from vacation in Crete. Saw plenty of young couples with children, the girls cant be older than 25. The guys just look like the regular beta yet they still managed to land mostly 7s looking wives. Best part? The girls actually play with their children, not just stuck to their iphone.
Now everyday I’m at work I just count down until 630pm when I can go to training. It’s been a while since I have something to look forward to afterwork except the gym.
Best way to be happy is simply do things that make you happy. Make time, not excuses.
Sidenote on HEMA: speed is not a problem, precision is. Due to my kenjutsu background I'm very agressive and seek to use fast footwork to compensate for my lack of techniques in HEMA. It works out a lot better than you would think. If you overwhelm people with a flurry of strikes they get put on the backfoot. Against the very best though of course it just turns you into a cafe filter with 100+ holes.
Also, try switching to wield your weapon left hand. Interesting ambidextrous training and unsettle a lot of people.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
Made this Thai bird cum twice after only like 9 minutes of fucking. Does anything have a more positive effect on a man's outlook on life than tight, young, enthusiastic pussy?
Proceeded to dance jubilantly in the streets with taxi and moto drivers to Thai Music as food vendors laughed uproariously. One of the drivers gave me a cup of tea. It wasn't tea, but some knockoff booze. I can't drink, spat it up dramatically on pavement. More laughter from onlookers.
Walked down the street to Domino's. The boys there made me an extra pizza for free. When the kid gave it to me, he bowed really deep and hit his chest with his fist three times. I shook his hand, and threw a military salute and a head nod to the other cats behind the counter.
When I walked out, a cute twenty-something Thai 'hip-hop scene' girl and I locked eyes. We smiled at one another.
I'm on an absolute wave right now. #drained #callmedaddy #Farang'sLuck

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
Started volunteering a few hours a week for a local Christian charity.
Warehouse putting furniture together, office making phone calls, charity shop stocking shelves and hitting on girls, er, asking if they are finding what they are looking for.
Doing good, meeting some cool people, learning new skills, brushing up on old ones, being appreciated.
Did I mention being appreciated?
Forgot what that was like since when they payin' they ain't appreciatin'.
