After everything what happened, I will stay away from NEO or any other China based coins until there are proper regulations or complete bans from the Chinese government.
I am suspicious about the rebranding from AntShares to NEO, this was too convenient for them right before the China incident.
^ You are supposed to be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful.
You got it backwards. What happens when China does regulate Cryptos in the country and give NEO its blessing?

Excellent advice. Look at a NEO chart for the weekend and tell me if people are feeling greedy or if they're feeling fearful.
I don't know about you guys but China is going to regulate Virtual Currencies which is a very big thing. What is going to happen when they give their blessing to whatever urgency they choose??? I'm going to try to get that coin and stock it up. Hopefully it's NEO.
I current down own any NEO but will purchase 1k worth for Red Pulse. I'm actually thinking of holding that but must do more research on Red Pulse. After the Red Pulse ICO NEO is going to dump because people will dump it that didn't get in that ICO. Once they dump it hopefully I'll be picking up a ton of NEO I'll hold for the long term.
This is all speculation for me so please do your own research.

Nobody but westerners buys NEO which makes me think the odds of that are pretty low.

@NewDayNewFace: You are right. But they already speculate that NEO gets its blessing by the chinese government. Which is really just speculation, greed all over the place.
https://news.bitcoin.com/virtual-currenc...tober-1st/I鈥檝e been weary of ant/neo from the start bc it鈥檚 chinese. I didnt even feel comfortable investing in badoo or alibaba which are clear winners. Don鈥檛 expect the Chinese market to always follow free market trends. One off investments in clear winners can do well though.
Anybody have any insight as to why Ethereum shot up to 313.00 a day or two ago but has now crashed all the way down to 290.00 today?

The ETH hardfork generated some interest from the market and caused an initial pump, but since other ETH forks never had support for the forked blockchain (besides ETC) they died quick. Bitcoin on the other hand forked into BCH which is now in the top 5 best performing cryptos so people are selling their eth for BTC in the hopes they get free money in the Bitcoin Gold fork on the 25th of this month.
Read my post in the altcoin day trading thread for more info.

That seems a bit of a strange characterization of the BCH ordeal, no?
Bitcoin cash was a renegade fork that included some difficult price finding, especially since it was a surprise, and had more than 30% BTC valuation on some prediction markets before it launched on August 1. So sure, it came out of the gates with a real high market cap, which was likely pumped up further based on technical difficulties of actual BCH holders to gain access to their BCH.. which caused considerable lack of liquidity (supply constraint of BCH).
The mere fact that BCH continues to hold a relatively high market cap does not necessarily mean some copy cat successor hardfork is going to have additional price performance or that BTC is being pumped because of a possibility of another renegade fork - (or possibly shitty airdrop)... referring to bitcoin gold.
Surely, I am no expert in bitcoin gold nor can any of us understand exactly the various causes of price actions; however, bitcoin gold has considerable baggage and even possibly significant negative public perceptions (despite possibly few people knowing about it beyond us staunch crypto followers).
I posted a couple of bitcoin gold reference threads in the BTC thread.Noob question - If I transfer my wallet from MyEtherWallet to Metamask, is there any chance that I could lose my LINK tokens? I need to do this in order to participate in the AirSwap ICO but won't if I'm risking losing my LINK.

There a reason you can't just make a new wallet using MEW or Metamask, and transfer the ETH you need to it?

Yes, only my address of my wallet on MyEtherWallet has been whitelisted for the ICO. I cannot participate in the ICO using any other ETH address

Right.
An ETH address can have multiple ERC20 tokens. (EG: one of the Shapeshift.io ether addresses has golem, omg and guppy
https://etherscan.io/address/0x70faa28a6...a2a39ba413 )
So it should be fine. See if you can't get in contact with someone who'd know for sure, like on their slack, telegram or whatever.
I finally became the proud owner of an Ethereum...
Maybe my automatic buy order triggered at too high of a buying point? But one of my orders finally triggered during this seemingly unpeggening period.
Is it a good thing?

You've seen some good profits for one day. I woke up this morning and seen Ethereum at 340.

As you probably could tell from my tone, I am not exactly enthusiastic about my ETH purchase. I am likely going to have some dilemmas about how to proceed with it, and whether to manage it.
In the end, a few of my ETH orders had filled, so I have become the proud owner of about 8 of those bad boys....
It seems likely that I am going to just ride out some bigger waves, and consider whether my amount into ETH is a bit of a hedge or even a sacrificial lamb.. and I am having some similar thinking with some of my other alts.. .. so there can sometimes be a question about strategically whether to do anything with them or just let them sit or at what points (what price points) there could be a "do something more" trigger.

Newb question: am trying to transfer tokens back to my wallet in etherdelta. However my ether is not sufficient, so it's asking me to buy more. Why isn't the cost just factored into the transfers, as in bitcoin? This is really irritating. Is there another solution, apart from selling some of what I've just bought, or buying more ether, which could take days?

Yeah, ask somebody here or on the slack for some rescue ether. They'll send a bit to your MEW, you can use it to get your stuff off, then you send it back. I'd send it myself but I'm away from home and was very particular NOT to bring my private keys with me.
Note that selling something you just bought won't help, the ETH you get from the sale will be stuck on the exchange. So don't do that.
EtherDelta is a shithole, but remember that the reason it's possible to make money off it is that it's a shithole.

Cool, thanks for the tip. How do I get access to the slack?
Or if anyone checking out this thread can offer some rescue ether, I'd be very appreciative.
Is anyone still bullish on eth? More heavily invested in eth than other coins. It hurts watching bitcoin just keep going up and up like this while eth is stagnant.

Tell me about it, I'm in the same boat with over 85% of my crypto in ETH. Still believe in ETH and waiting for it to take off again. Did read something on here or reddit that mentioned They see scenarios where BTC gains and ETH falls, but they don't see any scenarios where ETH gains and BTC doesn't, kind of has some FUD stirring in the back of my brain. I have been doing a little day trading (gambling) here and there to lower my ETH avg cost down, which has helped me keep my sanity.

This fat Indian who I think is pretty high up on Ethereum sounds pretty vile. He claims ethereum is Communist too.
