Julia Roberts killed it with redheads for me growing up. I never thought JR was all that hot so I dismissed redheads for the longest time. I'm not sure what it but she does very little for me, she does not have the plain girl look either; like a Gwenyth Paltrow, who isn't my type, but is still attractive, in a very plain way.

People Magazine is a supermarket checkout gossip rag, read — or should I say consumed — by average-ass women. Pay close attention whenever you see a woman "reading" one of these mags. You'll notice they flip quickly through the pages, obviously doing little more than looking at the pictures.

If you think readers of Jezebel, HuffPo, etc., are brain-dead, at least those sites are mainly text that require some degree of literacy to read & to write for. People Magazine and its ilk seem to be aimed at the actually mentally retarded.

Actually, I'm the only one I ever see reading that bollocks when I'm waiting in line behind five D.C. area losers all of whom are paying for unhealthy food with EBT, food stamps, and some government issued checks which I don't even know the name of. This area is very wealthy, though.

Still remember how hilarious it was to watch those rags trip over their dicks concerning that couple with the eight or ten or whatever kids. For the first few days when their cheating scandal erupted, the narrative across all of the magazines was that the father was wronged by the adulterous witch, the poor guy, and at last he could reveal what a hateful shrew she was behind that phony perfect-mom facade. Then the narrative turned on a dime, across all the checkout magazines, all the same way, all at once: he's suddenly this no-good loser manchild and always had been, while the wife is the very model of saintly motherhood, her quiet, virtuous suffering at his hands made public at last.

My guess is that they were honest with the scandal at first, then saw data coming in that the prole-frau readers were more sympathetic to the wife character and so had to abruptly change the storyline being presented.

No different here. The choice of old broads for this "honor" is an appeal to the vanity of the old broads who buy such magazines, just like CNN's incessant JFK/Jackie/Camelot/Sixties/Seventies/Summer of Love/etc. historical retrospective weeklong special event series are offered as catnip to the self-absorbed lefty Boomers who make up the bulk of their audience.
