Soccer gangs or fighting over sports is absolutely retarded in my book.

You're fighting other men, regarding multi million dollar sports teams whose players are millionaires.

The bouncer may have been a little out of shape but it is very easy to tell that he was trained in boxing. He was defensively responsible on every strike and counter. He maintained perfect distancing between each attacker. It's too hard to see his footwork because of the items blocking the view, but if you look at his knees you can tell it was great as well.

They misjudged his abilities VERY poorly and paid dearly for it.

These two guys were probably very drunk and therefore somewhat incapacitated, but nevertheless I too noticed the parry at 1:00, indicative of some boxing training, as well as your points about distancing.

As a someone who boxes, what would be the best way to incorporate the push kick. Since I am orthodox should my left leg be the one I use to keep separation? Since it is the leg closest to the opponent. Just like he did? But then in one of the videos the guy was using his right leg. Not sure if he was a southpaw or not. Thanks.

You should be using your left leg to initiate a push kick. If after some time you find that your push kick is more effective with the right foot. Perform what we call a switch kick and use the right foot.

If your push kick with the left is not so hot always use a left jab to go along with it in tandem. If you have short reach, don't bother.

If you have to switch stance to use the right foot, always make sure you quickly switch back to your orthodox stance, to stay in the fight properly, since that is what you are. Jon Bones Jones and guys like GSP switch stances very fast and sometimes often. Don't get confused with high level fighters habits. In time, you may or may not do this on your own. There is no right style when it comes to switching stances. It's a very personal thing. Also, you may want to raise the push kick to the lower stomach if your left kick sucks.

Watch this video on how to switch kick properly. Just use a push kick instead of the roundhouse he shows. Start at the 30 second mark.

Pay special attention to his V Pattern in the footwork. That is the correct way to do it. Do not switch wide, that telegraphs to your opponent what you are about to do and is a sloppy waste of movement.

I picked a Muay Thai video because Boxers are on toes more than other Kickboxing/MMA styles.

Try both and find out which one is better, more efficient and quick, and above all else comfortable.

Also if you ever push kick a dude and it doesn't stop his pressure and he is still in your face, jab him in the nose quickly to prevent a clinch or getting hooked into next week.

TK, considering that a lot of these street fights degenerate into shirt-grabbing contests, do you put much stock in polishing elbow work for those sorts of occasions when they're latched on but for whatever reason you don't want to go to ground (other potential aggressors or a need to maintain mobility perhaps)?

This video is almost as old as the internet, I saw it ages and ages ago and the story was that this took place in some eastern european country and that this is a common tactic that gypsies use to assault and rob people, they pretend an "accident" just happened and when you stop they attack you, so assuming this story is true you're actually wrong when you say they weren't trying to start shit and had no idea what was going on, they knew exactly what they were doing and the guy probably already knew these people and their tactics and reacted spectacularly. You can perfectly see that the gypsy guy punches/slaps the girl on purpose, that wasn't an accident at all, only thing I feel sorry for was that he didn't kick the other guys heads when they were down and left them bleeding with their heads open, he should have.

This explains a lot. I was baffled by that video.

-Why did that guy just whimsically hit that woman in the chest?
-Why did her boyfriend immediately just start throwing punches instead of just first asking "WTF did you do that for, man?"

But your explanation logically answers those questions that made no sense to me in that video.

I agree - at first it looks as if it was 2 drunk dudes, but it is clear that they stopped talking before the couple and one guy suddenly moved his arm backwards for no reason but to strike the woman. Actually the fight was not over yet and they clearly moved against them. He should have kicked one guy when he was down. It might have gotten tougher for him later as they followed the couple.

Ha! Watched a few times.

It's the Irish Little Dark, he tell's them to 'Go Home' first.

Sorry my Irish brothers.

Nah, seriously. Just another Saturday night around 7pm.

These sports bars/fun pubs are usually run by the underworld of these said cities, they'll have a hard core group of around 4-6 bouncers with back up of around 4-6 (regulars), depending on time, inside socially. They have to deal with stag parties and arseholes like these. All of these men are capable.

Likely scenario:

These guy's have been removed from premises after a 6-7 hour binge (due to excessive alcohol and cheap cocaine consumption) but want to remonstrate their case.

Bouncer know's their strength and weaknesses through state of inebriation and ease of ejection.

Initial frames show big bloke being dragged away, bouncer knows cctv cameras are rolling so has to wait to be assaulted first, then it's self defence!

Dafty wee bloke couldnae punch his way out a wet paper bag. He also helps the bouncer by trying to throw his mate out the way. After this, his balance is leaning to the right and his mate (big bloke) is on his knees already.

Bouncer see's this quickly and takes opportunity of free punch with no defence and the added bonus of a knockout blow to big bloke as he try's to get back on his feet (commentary: 'Game Over')

Big bloke is then that concussed, he runs up to bouncer then stands unable to throw a punch whilst the bouncer clocks him again to the back of the head, causing him to fall like a log face first onto the pavement, splitting his head.

Unfortunately this is where the serious injuries/deaths occur depending on how the head meets the concrete object.

Kept up the Irish hospitality to the end though..

"We'll call an ambulance" and "His head is open" is what they are telling them as they scrape big bloke up from the deck.

Style. Bare Knuckle I'd say.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bare-knuckle_boxing

Quote:Techniques
While boxing has always included punching, historically it also included grappling techniques like throws, arm locks, chokes as well as kicks. These techniques were banned during the several rule changes which turned classical pugilism, or bare knuckle boxing, into the modern sport of boxing.

Pro Tip: If you like to get fucked up into this state, don't try and fight sober bouncers.

RE: Irish bouncer takes on two attackers at once
The two guys have no idea how to fight, likely they got their egos hurt somehow and just have to try and repair it by going on the bouncer. Had they rushed him at the same time instead with force it would have been over in seconds. You see this typical hesitant I-don't-want-to-get-hurt-but-I'm-going-to-punch-you stances in people that never had any actual training.

Video makes me remember something a brute from my youth told me, this is a guy that had knife wounds from before we were legal. He said "the one who wins a street fight is the one willing to go the farthest". Basically the second you try some upright fistfight you've lost, it's all knees, elbows, throat, grappling, biting - messy stuff that doesn't look particularly glamorous.

Absolutely not.

If you are not trained in elbow strikes via Muay Thai, Silat, FMA, Kickboxing, Systema, Karate, etc.

DO NOT throw them. You are very likely to sprain your elbow. The shock and feedback of the jolt, will stun you and may take you out of the fight. That is bad because if it was not enough to knock them out, you are going to get mounted and beaten within an inch of your life.

Beginners in those styles, including ones from my own gym, have had to be put into slings for a few weeks because they do it wrong or make a bad mistake.

Muay Thai people especially don't have nerve feeling in their elbows, knee areas, and shins. Folks like us accidentally kick or bump into solid wood furniture and feel nothing, but if you did that, you might be on the ground in pain. MT fighters have calcium deposits in spots from several tiny fractures healing multiple times over and over. Making a callous protrusion from the bone. That is how Muay Thai can smash a persons orbital bones with an elbow strike and the reason why it's not good to hit untrained people with stuff like that on the street. Worse, is if they end up in a coma, the police will be waiting for the plug to be pulled so they can arrest you for excessive force and manslaughter.

That is why some Karaketas refuse to hit people and at most push people away or run. Sometimes people think they are just pussies but they know what they can do and are hard to offend. They don't want to go to jail for killing someone. If you could break 5-10 wood or stone blocks with your elbow in one strike, you probably would not either if you knew their skull could pop open. If you lived in places like Canada, power like that is a big liability possibly.

If some simple punches will do the job, best to leave the heavy stuff out, unless you feel like your life is in danger. (They have a knife)

I recommend that you get training first, in general. Elbow strikes or not. You could break a finger punching like a girl, only because you do not know how to make a proper fist.

TK, considering that a lot of these street fights degenerate into shirt-grabbing contests, do you put much stock in polishing elbow work for those sorts of occasions when they're latched on but for whatever reason you don't want to go to ground (other potential aggressors or a need to maintain mobility perhaps)?

Most of my experience is in a professional setting so that sort of business was strictly off limits, but I'm starting to look into more practical real-world stuff now that I don't have to worry about putting on a uniform.

I had a Muay Thai instructor who killed someone who broke into his house with a kick. When we trained we would do bag work for around 3 to 5, 1 minute sessions. A lot of the bags in his gym were filled with sand.

In Thailand they do that and then kick down bamboo trees.
