Quote:Hey bro thanks for the message.

I saw all those responses of everybody on Trump's dick and scratched my head thinking "am I on crazy pills? Surely I'm not the only one who thinks that was the kind of handshake you get your ass kicked for..."

Trump's not bad - certainly better than Hillary in my opinion - but not everything he does is 'alpha' just because he's a rich business mogul.

I spend a lot of time around professional fighters and none of them try to punk you like that.

They don't have to yank your arm to prove they're tough.

It would be a confession of weakness to do something like that.

And it would get you in a fight.

Statesmanship is a different context and I'm not an expert on politics.

But it looked buffoonish to me and not becoming of a truly strong leader.

I'm not going to discuss anything political. But both Obama and Trump come over extremely badly in this thread (if the vids/pics haven't been manipulated in some way).

And the above text is very accurate. I was talking with someone, a pretty huge guy when I was pretty young (18/20 ish) and a fair bit smaller. He thought it was amusing to try and put my hand in a crushing handshake which was obviously his trademark dickheadism. So I just stepped forward, stamped on his foot, hard. Then put my head in his face and said "Don't be a fucking cocksucker, mate". He got the message.

I remember shaking hands with Lennox Lewis. One of the lightest handshakes I've ever experienced. BUT full extended both eyes contact, standing square on, slow and deliberate and feeling your energy as he shook. The personification of class and dignity.

Lewis doesn't shake anything like Trump.
And Lewis is anything but a fag.

Sadly, you can't say the same about his former manager Frank Maloney tho...

VV,

Did you mean it was classless in the sense that he patted Abe's hand while shaking it as if Abe is a little kid? If so, then yea I definitely agree.

We don't have to jump on Trump's dick on everything he does. It was a dumb move on his part but a shitty handshake is not the end of the world after all.

Trump is a germaphobe. This is a great show of respect to hold a handshake that long considering Trump doesn't know which lethal germs Abe could have brough from Japan.

Since we're discussing handshakes, today's handshake with Trudeau was interesting--Trudeau grabs his shoulder, firm handshake, none of this back-and-forth awkward jerkiness. Seems to me that's a proper handshake

I'm not a huge Trump guy but I didn't see anything wrong with it, he's just doing his thing. At least he didn't puke on the guy like Bush 1.

The worst is when you meet those guys who shake your hand and they squeeze so hard they nearly fracture your pinky, trying to out-alpha you or something. Damn, I hope you don't choke the chicken that hard.

I wouldn't like someone patting my hand like that.

The whole thing IS awkward because they have to hold hands for so long.

I like a short firm hand shake with eye contact.

Just sharing pictures of a handshake in a thread about Trump handshakes. Looked like Trudeau had more of a "proper" handshake than Trump's have been. I'm not a huge Trudeau fan, and from what I gather many Canadians are not exactly thrilled with him either, but since I failed to genuflect at Trump's feet, I guess that means Trudeau is my crush now. Just in time for Valentine's Day as well--what great timing.

RE: Trump's Classless Handshake with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe
A lot of hilarious replies here but I'm going to be serious for a second so hopefully OP can respond. Because right now, he has ignored all of the responses here and the only person he has replied to has been someone who sent him a supportive private message.

It looks like you're afraid of confrontation so I want to give you a chance to stand up for your point of view and disprove that.

I think pulling his arm looked a little aggressive and then the hand pat was friendly but it could come off a little patronising.

However this type of greeting is normal among politicians posing for cameras and 6,4 alpha male bosses who don't mind invading your personal space and putting you on the defense all the time.

I get suspicious of people who aren't used to this, I start to think they must not have met many men who are tougher than them. These type of men like to test you with aggressive handshakes. Sometimes even insulting questions or jokes. They like to go out of their way to tool you in front of other people sometimes, especially if you look weaker/smaller/less confident. They're just testing you and trying to find out what you're made of.

Why should men care about being classy, respectful and nice over being tough and getting results? That also seems a bit... weak to me.

If you've been involved in any type of business, or if you've worked for a real boss of a company before you have to figure out how to respond to this shit.

If you think it's 'wrong' or take it personally, I start to get suspicious as to whether you've been avoiding people like this your entire life or if you have even had enough proper jobs to come into contact with a real boss before.

Just because the martial arts guys you train with are friendly doesn't mean every other strong person should or will be. They also may or may not be physically strong but that doesn't always translate into strong personalities. That experience is kind of irrelevant.

BUT for the sake of argument, let's just say it was a classless handshake...

After that they had a meeting and travelled together to Florida, and from the sound of things, the meeting went very well and both countries are extremely strong allies.

Does that not even matter?

You're focusing on the handshake, the start of the meeting, and ignoring everything else that happened afterwards. I'm sure even if the Japanese PM agrees with you about the handshake, he's man enough to not care about it, because he was treated very hospitably and respectfully by Donald Trump afterwards and the outcome of everything was good. It did not ruin their relationship, it didn't even stain it.

When you focus on trivial issues like this, it's because you're most likely anti Trump (saying he's better than Clinton is hardly a compliment) and you're looking out for some kind of flaw so you can 'prove' to people that you're right, he is a bad guy. The fact that you didn't risk posting this in the Trump thread but still wanted to post on a mostly pro-Trump board somewhere about this supports my theory.

If you like Trump this doesn't matter. If you don't like Trump, this is just another weak 'reason' you can use to justify to yourself and others he is a bad guy.

"Kim Jong Un stands for the same traditional moral values that existed in America back in the days when the virtuous accordion was more popular in American than the degenerate electric guitar."

"Kim Jong Un is a good man and we need him on our side."

- Sherman
