on the flip side, I think Obama gives those "wimpy" looking handshakes since he knows he's the most powerful dude on the planet and doesn't need to dick swing to prove it. What's anyone going to do to him? He also just doesn't come across as needlessly aggressive or bombast so an aggressive handshake would seem fake as fuck.

Me? I give a normal handshake. I'm not as eloquent as Obama or as big a presence of Trump so I don't' try to mimic either of them.

Trump likes to have people close, so he can do the shoulder pat/hug etc. Gorwhatever and Pence got the yank handshake as like a "get in here" move that they didn't seem to understand. A close handshake also makes for good pictures, you guys that have had to hold handshakes for pictures should know that.

On the japanese PM, I can see why this freaked him out. It would be like having to do extended versions of that gay european cheek kissing...which made me uncomfortable not having to do it for cameras when I worked there.
